- Actress Asha Parekh, in her 2017 memoir "The Hit Girl", wrote that she was in a long romantic relationship with Ayesha's husband, director Nasir Hussain. Divorce wasn't an option, since it would have hurt both their families. Neither was breaking up, since their professional association brought forth several hit films, making both families wealthy. She wrote that Ayesha knew about the romantic relationship and was always kind to her, even giving her a gift of a pair of gold bangles. They also worked together on three of Nasir's films, in which Asha was the heroine while Ayesha was the assistant choreographer: Jab Pyar Kisise Hota Hai (1961), Teesri Manzil (1966), and Baharon Ke Sapne (1967). Ayesha died in 2001, but Asha didn't try to marry the widowed Nasir who died a year later. She has remained unmarried. Nasir and Ayesha's children and grandchildren knew that Asha has made a personal sacrifice and have continued to stay in touch with her.
- Her real name was Margaret Francina Lewis, and she was working as an assistant choreographer on Munimji (1955), when she met the film's screenwriter Nasir Hussain. They fell in love and married, and then she changed her name to Ayesha Khan.
