Ahead of the premiere in April 2024, the official YouTube channel for the train transforming robot anime franchise Shinkalion has started streaming the first six-minute footage from the first episode of its forthcoming new TV series, Shinkalion Change The World . The clip will be available online until April 7. Director Kenichiro Komaya ( Kizuna no Allele ) said, "I have learned a lot about railroads since becoming involved in this anime, and I have realized once again that trains, which we usually ride on without thinking, run safely because they are supported by many people. I believe that a good work of animation is made possible by the support of many wonderful staff members, so I do my best to bring the efforts and thoughts of those involved to life in this series. We hope that the people who watch this anime enjoy it and that it can be of support to someone, even if only a little.

Japanese cinema has been on a somewhat successful stalemate for years now, with the titles produced (at least the ones we manage to sea in the West out of the 600 the country produces every year) retaining the same, relatively high quality, even though no particular steps forward have been made for years now Regarding the state of the industry in 2023, you can read the very informative article by Mark Schilling, but the thing I have to mention is that, despite the issues, local movies definitely have four things working quite well for them, particularly this year. First of all, the big names deliver almost always, with Miyazaki, Hamaguchi and Koreeda proving the fact this year also. Second of all, the quality of anime remains high as always and thirdly, some efforts at different cinematic approaches continue to take place, even though they can almost exclusively be found in low budget and short films.

As I have mentioned in the past, the “Psycho-Pass” franchise is probably the closest thing we have in the combination of contextual depth and intricate action that the masterful “Ghost in the Shell” first brought in the world of anime, at least until Netflix got its hands on it. The fact is quite eloquently presented in the “Psycho-Pass 3” line, of which “Psycho-pass: Providence” is the latest entry, set in January 2118, two months after the ending of “Sinners of the System” and near three years before “Psycho-Pass 3”, thus providing the missing link between the two.
“Psycho-pass: Providence” arrives in theaters on Friday, July 14 in North America, courtesy of Crunchyroll
For those not familiar with the main premise of the series, the story takes place in a future Japan that has secluded itself from other countries due to its food autarky. The Sibyl System has taken over the judicial sector, by actively measuring the populace's mental states,...

Osamu Tezuka is often mentioned along with the title of “Father of Manga” and in many ways, he is, thanks to the prolific nature of his works and the fact that he managed to walk the perfect line between entertainment for kids and profound storytelling that took the medium of manga to an entirely new era. Characters like Astro Boy, Kimba, the White Lion, and Black Jack are still present in the audience’s minds even after so long, and thus the influence of Tezuka cannot be understated. Pluto is a new anime series based on the Astro Boy Universe, and Netflix has released the first official teaser for it.
Pluto is based on a manga of the same name written and illustrated not by Tezuka, who sadly passed away at the age of 60 in 1989, but by Naoki Urasawa, a more contemporary manga artist that has acquired an amazing reputation...
