It’s lights out for Madea, the battle-ax sass queen with a criminal background created three decades ago and portrayed by Tyler Perry. That’s right. Perry, 49, says he will no longer put on a gray wig and wiggle his 6-foot-5 frame into the floral print dresses of the geriatric black woman who righteously goes whupass on any fool who gets in her way. A Madea Family Funeral is the 11th and final film to star the character most associated with Perry in a series of films, plays and books.

“A Madea Family Funeral” is the eleventh Tyler Perry film to showcase Perry in the role of the fire-breathing battle-axe-in-flowered-print-dresses inner-city drag matriarch Madea. Since Perry has said that it will be the last, it seems reasonable to assume that the funeral the movie pivots around might be Madea’s own. Is there anyone left for her to terrorize? Have no fear, though: Madea is alive and well (even if it seems a borderline spoiler to reveal that she doesn’t die). And I’m not convinced that her retirement will be any more permanent than a typical rock star’s. Also still kicking, I’m pleased to report, is her posse — the loose-cannon trio of geriatric relatives who’ve become her backup chorus in cussed infamy, though having been through more than a few Perry films themselves, their voices now come through just as loudly and riotously as Madea’s.

Alison (Sasha Pieterse) being back in Rosewood was supposed to be a good thing, but judging by the cold reception she received at school on last week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars, and the events on “Run, Ali, Run,” her return is anything but. It’s also changed the vibe of the show completely. Ali being alive has taken Pretty Little Liars to a new level, but not necessarily in a productive way. This episode wasn’t the first one this season where it seemed like the writers took an entire episode to make one thing barely happen, withholding the must-watch television show that fans tuned in expecting.
With Shana (Aeriél Miranda) dead, the Liars assumed that was the end of their torment. Unfortunately, the are finding out the hard way that bringing Ali back home has only made it worse. Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) points out that, “A doesn’t shoot and miss,...

Pretty Little Liars is really giving fans a lesson in patience this season. “Thrown From the Ride” was more of a series of awkward moments strung together than any sort of cohesive, or even satisfying, viewing experience. Alison (Sasha Pieterse) being back in Rosewood has apparently made everyone’s interpersonal skills go on hiatus. And, that doesn’t even account for the already tense relationships that existed prior to her re-emergence on the social radar.
If you’re having trouble adjusting to Ali’s return to the day-to-day comings and goings of Pretty Little Liars, don’t feel bad. Even the Liars, who once (err, possibly still do) considered Ali to be there unofficial leader and best friend, are having some difficulty adapting to the renewed pressures of living up to Ali’s standards e.g. Hannah’s outburst: “I’m tired of being the messenger.”

At the Rosewood High book fair, Hanna and Aria (Lucy Hale) pick out Shana’s (Aeriél Miranda) old copy of The Scarlet Letter and find a highlighted passage that Aria thinks is about them, Ali and Jenna (Tammin Sursok). 'Pretty Little Liars' Recap: Hanna, Spencer And Emily Investigate Jason, Aria Tells Ezra About Shana
Pretty Little Liars’ Aria told Ezra the truth about Shana while Emily, Hanna and Spencer tried to determine who killed Mrs. Dilaurentis in “Surfing the Aftershock.”
After finding Mrs. Dilaurentis’ (Andrea Parker) body buried in the backyard, Ali (Sasha Pieterse) has shut down, so the girls help her get ready for her mother’s funeral. While at the Dilaurentis house, they all notice that tensions are high between Jason (Drew Van Acker) and his father, and Emily (Shay Mitchell) is further convinced that Jason is the one who ‘killed’ Ali and maybe killed his own mother. Spencer (Troian Bellisario), however, disagrees. She doesn’t think Jason, her half brother, is at fault. Besides, she tells Emily, she is more concerned with Ali’s loose ends. Noel Kahn (Brant Daugherty), Mona (Janel Parrish) and Ezra (Ian Harding) all know that Ali wasn’t kidnapped like she told the police, and they...

Ali Lies To The Police
Ali (Sasha Pieterse), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Hanna (Ashley Benson) return to Rosewood after their disastrous run in with Shana (Aeriél Miranda) in New York with a plan: Ali will tell the police everything, including the fact that her mother buried her alive by mistake and that she has been running from whoever tied to kill her ever since. Once the police know about the ‘A’ that’s been tormenting all the girls for years, the girls will explain how Shana attacked them and Aria killed her in self defense. No more lies and no more hiding from the police – they all believe that Shana took over being A when Mona (Janel Parrish) stopped and that this whole mess is over.

If you thought the season four finale of Pretty Little Liars a few months ago had a lot going on, tonight’s season premiere put it to shame. Any theories that finding Alison (Sasha Pieterse) would put an end to all the questions has gone right out of the nearest window. It seems like there are even more now that the Liars know for sure she’s alive than there ever were when she was presumed dead. On top of that, the Liars are now going to find themselves standing between Mona (Janel Parrish) and her newly formed army of Ali hating peers (plus Melissa), and their target. Going into season five, it’s clear that no one is safe and everyone is suspect.

You can’t spell Halloween without “A,” and in that spirit, the new promos for this year’s Pretty Little Liars Halloween special offer up six potential identities behind the dreaded letter — and some of the names are actually pretty shocking. It’s all leading up to the Oct. 22 special, which airs right before the series premiere of Ravenswood.
Jake (Ryan Guzman), Shana (Aeriél Miranda), Ezra (Ian Harding), Mona (Janel Parrish), Jenna (Tammin Sursok) and Aria (Lucy Hale) are all given individual promos with their names highlighted as potential “A”s.
Isn’t it strange that Hanna (Ashley Benson) wasn’t included in this illustrious list of characters with “A”s in their names?
‘Pretty Little Liars’ Halloween Special: Who’s Dying?
Of course, an alternate possibility is that one of these six people will die during the Halloween special.

Anytime I hear someone utter the words ‘lake house’ on an episode of Pretty Little Liars, I cringe. I already know that something bad is going to happen. And if I know it, I feel strongly that the characters should at the very least see something coming. Jenna’s back in town, there’s a surprise party happening – someone was clearly going to end up in the lake. Seriously, it plays like a broken record.
Jenna (Tammin Sursok) might not have been the obvious choice, especially with her recent return to the dark side – which is a reference to her loss of sight, not her moral compass – but it did facilitate that epic last scene between Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Shana (Aeriél Miranda). All roads usually lead back to ‘A,’ but now that Cece Drake (Vanessa Ray) is in contention for that spot, it only seems right that she’s...

It looks like Rosewood is about to be flooded with drama — and also with water.
Anyone up for a swim? New photos from the Aug. 6 episode of Pretty Little Liars reveal that things are about to get wet and wild in Rosewood, and one person forgot to wear her life jacket!
In the new batch of shots, a female body is seeing floating face-down in the water, while Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Jake (Ryan Guzman) rush to her rescue. That weird coupling aside — seriously, have Emily and Jake ever met? — I can’t help but wonder who that floating body belongs to. She’s clearly a brunette, but that barely narrows down the list of potential victims. All we know is that it can’t be Hanna (Ashley Benson).
Ok, here’s where things are about get super spoiler-y, so stop reading if you don’t want to know who the floater is.

Emily (Shay Mitchell) has a pretty checkered history when it comes to pools — remember the time Paige (Lindsey Shaw) tried to drown her? – and sadly, it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon. ABC Family has released some pics from the second episode of "Pretty Little Liars" Season 4, called "Turn of the Shoe." We already know from the episode description that there are some "potentially devastating circumstances" for Emily, which is certainly supported by the above photo of her on a stretcher in a neck brace.
Below we can see that Shana (Aeriel Miranda) is back and in the locker room, seemingly prior to Emily's injury -- is she involved? She certainly doesn't seem very trustworthy.
Related: See all the Season 4 pics here
And also below, the other Liars are looking concerned about something on Spencer's phone in her house at night. We can't wait to find out what it is.
Unfortunately, there are no photos of Mona's fate -- but we do know "A" nearly kills her in this episode. Yikes.
"Pretty Little Liars" returns Tuesday, June 11 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt on ABC Family.

Spencer might have solved the mystery of her boyfriend’s murder — while losing her own mind in the process.
Spencer (Troian Bellisario) spent most of this week’s Pretty Little Liars chilling in Radley Sanitarium — you’ve got to love the revolving doors at that place — and even though she’s not technically insane, she still found herself immersed in a whole lotta crazy. Not only did she meet the real E. Lam, who Toby (Keegan Allen) stole his alias from, but she also got a visit from Mona (Janel Parrish). And you don’t get much crazier than her.
Actually, I take that back. Up until the episode’s final moments, Spencer didn’t seem totally crazy; but seeing her with tears streaming down her face, confusing Dr. Sullivan and two randos for her best friends, got me thinking otherwise. From now on, I think I’ll refer to...

It appears Ezra’s not the Only one with a paternity secret in Rosewood!
