Gail L. Sanders was born in San Jose, California, and was raised in
Massachusetts and Minneapolis, Minnesota. A costumer and set designer
from an early age and in school, her first professional work in the
field was crafting medieval costumes for re-enactors, and selling
swords and armor as co-owner of Cloak & Dagger. She holds a degree in
Information Technology.
Sanders enlisted in the National Guard at age 35, finished Basic Combat
Training a week before her 36th birthday and spent a year training as a
combat photographer. She also served as a Religious Activities
Representative as a Wiccan, assisting the chapel with information and
service needs for other Wiccans, Pagans and Druids at Fort Meade.
She has a very strong command voice that can be heard the entire width
of a location shoot or battlefield, which she puts to use when
wrangling dozens of extras or re-enactors who are holding weapons.
Her photographic interests are varied, but she's noted for artistic
shots of funerary monuments and historical grave sites.
Gail is professionally trained in the handling of firearms, cameras and
computers, and has handled and managed swords and armor since 1991.
