Ryan Gosling made the most of his time in Thailand with an appearance at the Hua Hin International Film Festival last night. Ryan, director Nicolas Winding Refn, and Nicolas's wife Liv Corfixen were there to support the action film, Drive, which is screening at the event. Ryan's girlfriend, Eva Mendes, didn't make it since she's in La taking care of Ryan's dog, George. As the group headed inside, Ryan even stopped to pose with popular Thai actress Krystal Vee. Ryan is overseas working on his next project with Nicolas, Only God Forgives, which means he's missing out on award season in the Us. Ryan isn't up for any honors at this weekend's SAG Awards, but he will still have a presence at the big show. A signed version of the white scorpion jacket Ryan wore in Drive is up for auction, along with other items and experiences related to the...

In this installment of our week-long coverage of Universal Studio Home Entertainment's latest Scorpion King sequel, The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption, we chat with actors Bostin Christopher (whom many of you may remember as the titular character from the criminally overlooked 2008 horror comedy Otis) and Krystal Vee.
The Scorpion King 3 sees our hero, Mathayus (Victor Webster), as an assassin-for-hire who struggles to defend a kingdom against his rival, the treacherous Talus (Billy Zane), who has summoned three 'ghost warriors' (Kimbo Slice, Dave Bautista, Selina Lo) to do his evil bidding. Mathayus, facing insurmountable challenges against an all-powerful nemesis and his other-worldly defenders, must rely on the help of a few friends, including fellow warriors Olaf (Christopher) and Silda (Vee), in order to regain his empire and successfully win the Battle for Redemption against Talus and his other-worldly minions.

On January 10th Universal Studios Home Entertainment is releasing The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption on DVD and Blu-Ray. It's a direct follow-up to Chuck Russell's 2002 flick starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the titular character who rises up to fight the evil warlord Memnon in order to save his people from oppression, and we recently chatted with charismatic actor Victor Webster, who plays the new King.
The original The Scorpion King, a spin-off from the successful The Mummy 2 (wherein we originally met the character as a digital monster), served as a prequel, after which we got a rather bland sequel in 2008 as a Dtv release that featured a former Power Ranger as the fearless warrior once portrayed by Johnson. It was a total misfire, but it looks like Universal finally got it right for its third installment, Battle for Redemption, which picks up soon after the original...

Are you ready for more Scorpion King action? Because, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that The Scorpion King 3 has started principal photography in Thailand. From the producers of The Mummy, the new action film stars Ron Perlman, Victor Webster and Billy Zane.
I never liked the Scorpion King films; they we're very poorly made films. I imagine this next one won't be any different, but it's got Billy Zane and Ron Perlman in it so maybe I'll have to watch it. Hopefully it's one of those it's so bad it's good movies.
Yes, this is going to be a straight to DVD movie. Here's the synopsis:
As The Scorpion King 3 begins, Mathayus has lost his beloved queen and been driven from his former kingdom by a virulent plague. Now, an assassin for hire, Mathayus is dispatched by Horus, the King of Egypt, to protect his ally King Ramusan from imminent attack.

Universal Home Entertainment issued a press release earlier today, announcing that The Scorpion King 3 had begun principal photography. I think the real news here is that, Scorpion King 2 made enough money to even necessitate a sequel. Like the last film, it'll be a Direct-to-dvd release. It's an odd choice for a movie. Seriously, the first one wasn't that great and the second one definitely wasn't anything to write home about. While, Dtdvd movies aren't exactly known for their high quality, it's hard to see what fan base would be left for this Mummy off-shoot franchise.
Personally, I loathed The Scorpion King with The Rock (the only Scorpion King movie to hit theaters). I thought the plot was boring and even the action wasn't that great. It was trying to ride on the success of the first two Mummy films but it failed miserably. The second film wasn't that great either...
