Musicians are artists. They create things that they can see in their minds, hear in their sleep, and envision when they are going about their everyday business. The thing about artists is that they are creatives, and sometimes creative types are not taken seriously. It’s a problem for some, but others continue to create, to make things beautiful, and they change the world. Claudio Sanchez is one of those men. He is an artist who creates music that changes the way his fans feel and think, and he is proud of the work he has done. Here’s everything you need

Mastodon’s Brann Dailor and Baroness’ Sebastian Thomson linked up for a Halloween-appropriate quarantine cover of Ozzy Osbourne’s 1981 track “Over the Mountain.”
Dailor — hamming it up for the camera in a long black wig and an “Ozzy for President” T-shirt, flanked by a pair of fake skeletons — sings lead on the heavy track, with Thomson on drums. They’re joined by Darkest Hour’s Mike Schleibaum (guitar), Kvelertak’s Marvin Nygaard (bass) and Jordan “Gwarsenio Hall” Olds, host of the “Two Minutes to Late Night” series (guitar).

Coheed and Cambria showcase the mundanity and exhilaration of touring life with their new video for “The Pavilion (A Long Way Back).”
The black-and-white clip opens with frontman Claudio Sanchez handing off his electric guitar to a tech and drifting backstage as his bandmates continue to pummel through the string-heavy arena-rocker. Sanchez wanders through empty halls, alleyways and a kitchen — all before heading back into the venue to finish out the song.

Coheed and Cambria enrich the conceptual universe of their upcoming LP, Vaxis: Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures, with the theatrical, futuristic video for new single “Old Flames.”
The clip appears to explore the narrative of the album’s two main characters, Creature and Sister Spider, who also appear in the video for lead cut “Unheavenly Creatures.” The protagonists participate in a bank robbery, wielding guns and tying up customers as Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez croons the song’s lyrics. Meanwhile, the captives break out into intricate, artful choreography.

Coheed and Cambria return with a grandiose new song “Old Flames.” Frontman Claudio Sanchez recounts a story of romantic regret between the key characters in the prog-metal band’s upcoming album Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures.
“Don’t you fear – I’m bringing you home/ Out of this pit where I left you alone in this horrible mess that I made,” Sanchez belts over an arrangement that blooms from ornate piano to palm-muted electric guitars. “We both agree that I wasn’t the man that you needed me to be/ But,...

“What we’re doing is weird,” Claudio Sanchez admits with a belly laugh. He’s referring to “The Amory Wars,” the gargantuan sci-fi saga that his band, prog-rock quartet Coheed and Cambria, have unfurled over the last 16 years. “Concept records in themselves are not weird, but for a band to continue a concept over their discography can be a little intimidating to somebody on the outside. It’s like a monthly issue comic book, like, ‘I don’t want to get invested into this 10 issues in. I need to know where to start.

New York Comic Con: The Batman: Arkham City panel members were greeted by the jam-packed hall as world-conquering rockstars. Rightly so! Since Batman: Arkham Asylum took gamers by storm (and surprise) in 2009, gamers and Batman fans alike have been waiting as patiently as a cop on stakeout for the Arkham City follow-up. Judging by the overwhelming praise already being heaped upon the title (Metacritic score of 92!) the gang at Warner and Rocksteady may have exceeded expectations.

The world of licensed superhero video games before Arkham Asylum was Bludhaven-dreary. The rule of thumb was any such game was sure to be rushed-out-the-door crapola, seemingly made by people who didn't “get” the superhero in question.

Most everyone in the geek world knows that New York Comic-Con is going on this weekend and it just so happens that one of my favorite comic book companies, Evil Ink!, is here to sell merch and sling comics!
Luckily, I got a chance to catch up with Claudio Sanchez (of Coheed and Cambria) and Chondra Echert on their upcoming book Key of Z on the convention floor at Booth 1345 about the new comic, what they're looking forward to seeing at the convention, and what they've got coming up. Here it is, the cover art for Batman: Arkham City – The Album from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, WaterTower Music and DC Entertainment. Artists featured on the video game inspired album include: Daughtry, Panic! At The Disco, Coheed and Cambria, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Looks pretty awesome and falls in line with most of the concept art we’ve seen for Batman: Arkham City. Regarding the musical inspiration Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez said, “I write in a very conceptual format with the stories that surround Coheed and Cambria, but Batman has a much larger, defined history and rules that go along with it. My goal was to find universal themes from Batman’s existing history to help give the lyrics legs and dimension so that the song could live within that world.” Check out the track listing below: 1. Panic! At The Disco – Mercenary 2. Coheed and Cambria – Deranged 3. The Duke Spirit – Creature 4. Black Rebel.

A Coheed and Cambria member has got himself in serious trouble with the law. Bassist Michael Todd, a.k.a. Mic Todd, was arrested for armed robbery on Sunday, July 10. The rock band have taken to their official site to confirm news of the arrest.
"Michael Todd was arrested today on what we consider very serious charges and therefore he will not be finishing up the current tour," the band fronted by lead singer Claudio Sanchez said. In the statement, they also assured fans that they will continue on touring without their bassist.
"Wes Styles, long time member of the Coheed family will take on bass duties starting tomorrow for the remaining dates. No shows will be canceled," they said. "We are surprised to say the least and will address the situation with Michael after the tour. For now, we just want to have a great time out here and...

Our tournament begins March 14, but Coheed and Cambria are already gearing up for another championship.

In 2010, Coheed and Cambria entered MTV's Musical March Madness as an unheralded 15 seed and quickly rattled off a series of startling upsets — against #2 seed Paramore, #10 Mastodon, #6 Phish and #13 Alice in Chains — to advance to the final four, where they outlasted Tokio Hotel in an epochal (and, some might say, fishy) battle to reach the Mmm championship game.
And in that championship matchup, they outlasted a game My Chemical Romance to claim the Mmm trophy.
It was, to say the least, a shocking victory, one Coheed attributed to their fervent fanbase, and it set them up as automatic qualifiers in the 2011 tournament. And with the reveal of our full Mmm bracket just days away (we'll unveil it on Monday), we caught up with...
