Nele Kiper is a German actress active in film and television, originally from Hannover. She has appeared in notable productions such as Blood & Gold (2023), Not My Day (2014), and Jerry Cotton (2010), establishing herself as a versatile performer in the German entertainment industry.

Kiper hails from a family with artistic and political roots; she is the great-granddaughter of actor and operetta singer Herbert Kiper. Raised in Hannover, she engaged with theater from a young age through children's and youth theater groups. After completing her Abitur at the Schillerschule Hannover, she pursued studies in linguistics and comparative literature at Ruhr University Bochum. Her professional acting career began in theater, where she was a permanent ensemble member at Theater Narrenschiff in Unna from 2003 to 2006 and performed at other regional theaters.

Transitioning to screen, Kiper initially worked behind the scenes on student films before landing her first leading role in the RTL sketch comedy Geile Zeit (2007-2008), which was nominated for an International Emmy Award. She gained recognition through various comedy and film roles, including Griechische Küsse and Granaten wie wir, and made her cinematic debut with Offroad (2012). Her filmography includes collaborations with prominent German actors in titles such as Schlussmacher (2013), Nicht mein Tag (2014), and the TV series Der letzte Bulle. From 2016 to 2019, she portrayed Flo Kramer in the ARD-Degeto series Hotel Heidelberg, and since 2017, she has played Kommissarin Lola Karras in the ZDF crime series Der gute Bulle. In 2021, she took on a main role as lawyer Niki Berger in the series Kanzlei Berger.

Kiper is married to director Peter Thorwarth, with whom she shares a child. Beyond acting, she supports charitable causes, including a patronage for SOS-Kinderdorf in Düsseldorf and Essen. Fluent in several languages and skilled in various physical disciplines, she brings a broad range of talents to her work. Her contributions have made her a respected presence in contemporary German television and film, blending dramatic and comedic roles with a grounded, authentic approach.
