Darren Barnet returns as teenage heartthrob Paxton Hall-Yoshida in the fourth season of Netflix's beloved series "Never Have I Ever," which hits the streamer on June 8. In the series, Barnet plays the popular yet complex Paxton, one of the love interests of the main character of the rom-com show, Devi Vishwakumar.
Outside of "Never Have I Ever," Barnet is just as desirable as his show character and has garnered plenty of loving attention from fans for his role on the show, as well as his part in Netflix's 2021 film "Love Hard." So much love, in fact, that the rate of thirsty DMs he receives daily has skyrocketed. "Every time I refresh it, there's like 100 or 200 more," he told Elle in May 2020. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been dropping brightly colored Easter eggs for comic book fans ever since the very beginning when Jon Favreau's "Iron Man" named a terrorist group that kidnapped Tony Stark "The Ten Rings," after the infamous weapons of the superhero's arch-nemesis The Mandarin. And while the Mandarin's journey to the big screen was pretty circuitous, this little reference laid the foundation for many hints and teases in future films.
Whether it's catching an early hint of T'Challa and Namor's hidden kingdoms in "Iron Man 2" or the Infinity Gauntlet turning up in the background of "Thor," eagle-eyed Marvel Comics fans have learned to always be on the lookout for subtle references to the source material. James Gunn's new film "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" tells two stories. In the A-plot, Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), has turned to drinking after losing his true love Gamora (Zoe Saldaña). Thanks to some time-travel rigmarole, Gamora has returned, but from a point in the past where she had never met Star-Lord, making it extra painful to see her. Star-Lord and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy will have to set off on a grand quest to find the very specific medical technology needed to save their beloved friend, Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper) who has been grievously injured in an attack by the indestructible Adam Warlock (Will Poulter)
While his friends trek around the galaxy infiltrating high-tech medical facilities, the comatose Rocket dreams of his origins. In flashbacks, we see that Rocket, alongside any number of other test animals, was medically...

This post contains full spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
The trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 have included everything you’d expect from a James Gunn movie, including unlikely but perfectly-chosen rock songs and plenty of antagonistic banter between its heroes. But all of the Guardians 3 trailers have included another, perhaps troubling, aspect: a dour tone. It’s not just that Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) is still recovering from the death of his beloved Gamora (Zoe Saldana), who has returned as a younger and decidedly more impatient person. It’s also that this is the final go-around for Gunn and this version of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Now, longtime superhero fans will tell you that death means nothing to superheroes. All of the Guardians have died in the comics at one time or another, and they’ve all come back to life. But things...

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. centers around the concept of family – not necessarily defined by blood, but rather by choice. As the motley crew embarks on their final journey, it’s clear that family means always standing by each other’s side, no matter what.
James Gunn has expertly guided the three Guardians of the Galaxy films, delivering some of the MCU’s most comical – and downright goofy – moments with this weird and wild trilogy. However, with this final outing of the band of misfits, audiences are treated to a deeply moving and unexpectedly heartbreaking storyline, making it one of the MCU’s most emotionally engaging films to date.

Marvel’s band of loveable space rogues return for a third and possibly final galactic adventure, courtesy of writer-director James Gunn. The result is a thoroughly enjoyable, action-packed fantasy thriller that provides a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.
The story begins on the Guardians home base Knowhere, where Peter Quill / StarLord (Chris Pratt) is still drowning his sorrows about the -sort of- loss of Gamora (Zoe Saldaña). However, he’s quickly snapped out of his alcoholic haze when the team are suddenly attacked by powerful being Adam Warlock (Will Poulter), which leaves Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) mortally wounded.

It’s that time of year where I start watching every Christmas movie possible. Not so long ago I started on December 1st but I soon realised that even at two a day I was missing out on some great movies, so now as soon as Halloween is over I get started. Netflix seem to have the same idea because their first festive offering of 2021 started streaming on the 5th November.
If this was a straight to DVD-style release it would probably be called A Catfish For Christmas, which is only slightly worse than the title they opted for. In Love Hard, Natalie (Nina Dobrev) is a writer who is struggling to find love through her dating apps. That...

"Love doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to be honest." Netflix has debuted an official trailer for a holiday romantic comedy titled Love Hard, directed by Costa Rican filmmaker Hernán Jiménez. An LA girl, unlucky in love, falls for an East Coast guy on a dating app and decides to surprise him for the holidays, only to discover that she's been catfished. This lighthearted romantic comedy chronicles her attempt to reel in love. So a "catfish" romcom, but with a twist? Or two? Nina Dobrev stars in this as Natalie Bauer, with a cast including Jimmy O. Yang, Darren Barnet, James Saito, Harry Shum Jr., Mikaela Hoover, Heather McMahan, Althea Kaye, Rebecca Staab, Matty Finochio, and Fletcher Donovan. I like that this is about her learning to actually fall for the guy who catfished her, that's kind of sweet. Or am I just crazy? This seems like another...

Darren Barnet is going public with girlfriend Mikaela Hoover. On Monday, the 30-year-old Never Have I Ever star and 37-year-old actress made their red carpet debut as a couple at The Suicide Squad premiere in LA. The duo looked all loved up as they posed for the cameras and eventually leaned in for a kiss. While Darren looked sleek in a black suit, Mikaela rocked a two-piece sequin outfit. It's unclear when the pair started dating, but they have slowly been giving us glimpses of their romance as of late. In May, Darren shared a sweet birthday tribute for Mikaela as she celebrated her 37th. I've been hearing nothing but great things about this movie from people who I know who have seen it. I have yet to see if for myself, but judging from the buzz spreading, it's going to deliver some insanely blood-soaked entertainment.
We have a red-band clip for you to watch today called "All In My Mind," and it gives you a little tease of the messed-up and disturbing violence that I've heard this film is filled with. It focuses on Sean Gunn's character in the middle of a crazy shootout that he doesn't want to believe is really happening. Check it out:

A cocktail party so crazy you have to sign a waiver just to get in? I was intrigued. Intrigued enough to hop on the freeway a few miles up to a dark corner of North Hollywood to find the undisclosed home base of the web’s latest live-streaming reality show. Walking up to the three-story loft building it became clear this wasn’t going to be my run-of-the-mill Saturday night drinks at a friend’s place. Before entering the ControlTV loft, I’m hustled into a back room filled with producers and burly Pa types ushering me through a waiver and some ground rules. “Try to keep this PG-13,” said one of the younger producers on duty that night. “Just basically don’t drop the f-bomb too much.” She mentions the 30-second delay on the live stream they’ve set up just in case we get out of hand. And...

Nathan Fillion, Linda Cardellini, Gregg Henry and Michael Rooker have all joined the cast of James Gunn's "Super", a comedic twist on the superhero genre for This is That, Ambush Entertainment and HanWay Films.
Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, and Kevin Bacon have already been cast in the project about Frank (Wilson), a seemingly average guy who is madly in love with his troubled wife Sarah (Tyler). But when Sarah leaves Frank for Jacques (Bacon), a smooth-talking drug dealer, Frank transforms into pseudo superhero The Crimson Bolt, stakes out Jacques sleazy hideaway, and wages a one-man war on crime.
What he lacks in superpowers, he makes up for with a trusty pipe wrench. Every superhero needs a sidekick and so enters Libby (Page), a cute sociopathic teen working at the local comic book store, who morphs into ‘Boltie’ and teams with Frank to take Jacques down.

James Gunn seems to be digging the web series world these days. The Scooby-Doo screenwriter is following up on his successful porn flick satire series PG Porn, with the release today of an even racier series, Humanzee! The offbeat scripted comedy was shot back in 2008 and was planned to head to XBox Live, until someone over at Microsoft pulled the plug due to content concerns. Did they really not know what they signed up for when tapping Gunn? First off, we have to throw out the Nsfw warning on the first episode (above), mostly for f-bombs, not nudity. The show itself feels like a live action cartoon sitcom, complete with a laugh track pushing us through the quick setups and reversals. Gunn's description of what it's about is just too good to paraphrase: Humanzee! is the story of myself and my human-chimp hybrid son, appropriately named "Humanzee" (played by my brother,...

The final episode (above - warning: contains spoilers if you’re not caught up!) of Sorority Forever came out today at TheWB.com and MySpaceTV, closing this chapter of the 40-episode college sorority thriller. The Big Fantastic/McG-produced series, chock full of web stars — Jessica Rose (lonelygirl15), Taryn Southern (Private High Musical) and Mikaela Hoover (Sam Has 7 Friends) — had the web media hype-machine in full force this summer, us included, before its Labor Day debut. The first major scripted series out of Warner Bros.’ new digital portal TheWB.com, Sorority Forever has lived up to its end of the bargain in terms of viewership. Distribution partner MySpaceTV, who had a exclusive 48-hour window for new episodes, certainly delivered. They accounted for over 4 Million views for the series so far. TheWB.com hasn’t yet released viewership numbers for those shown on its own site, but it’s expected...
