The Shining‘s Shelley Duvall is making her return to acting after a twenty year hiatus in the upcoming creature feature The Forest Hills – and Michael and Jessica Kolence of the YouTube channel Grimm Life Collective happen to be producers on that movie, which opened the door to them getting the chance to spend the day with Duvall. As part of that day, they conducted an interview with Duvall, and the video of that interview can be seen at the bottom of this article. It’s a very nice, sweet interview, as the Kolences express a lot of love for Duvall’s work as they discuss projects like Popeye, Faerie Tale Theatre, and of course, The Shining.

“You’re a fucking murderer, Rico!”
That is the first line of dialogue fans of Shelley Duvall can hear her speak after a 20-year absence from the screen, in a new trailer for The Forest Hills, which The Hollywood Reporter is debuting exclusively.
The actress, 73, who captivated audiences with idiosyncratic characters like Millie Lammoreaux from 1977’s Three Women and Wendy Torrance in 1980’s The Shining, has returned to acting with a surprise cameo in the indie horror film, written and directed by Scott Goldberg.
The part is Duvall’s first since 2002’s Like Manna From Heaven.
Forest Hills also features Dee Wallace, who played Elliott’s mother in 1982’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and Edward Furlong, who shot to fame playing John Connor in 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
In the trailer, Rico (Chico Mendez) is a tormented man wandering the forests of the Catskills Mountains.

“The Shining” icon Shelley Duvall is back on the big screen.
After parting ways with Hollywood more than 20 years ago, Duvall is set to star in “The Forest Hills,” an upcoming thriller from writer/director Scott Goldberg (“Moirai: The Drifter”). “The Forest Hills” is centered on Rico, a disturbed man (Chiko Mendez) who is plagued with nightmare visions after enduring head trauma while camping in the Catskill Mountains, as Deadline reported. The cast also includes Edward Furlong and Dee Wallace.
Duvall will play Rico’s mother, who serves as his inner voice. The “Three Women” alum previously appeared in the 2002 comedy “Manna from Heaven” and announced her retirement that same year.
