Rounding out our poll results were Holly Brand of Team Kelly Clarkson in second place (35%), and then Ray Uriel of Team Chance the Rapper placing last (8%). Talk about a no-brainer! Often, as we head into the Semi-Finals of The Voice, we can’t quite guess who will win. But in Season 23? Pfft. It’s as plain as the cowboy hat on Noivas’ head.
Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and rookie coaches Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan each have strong performers in the Top 8. Yes, we could grumble about a couple of contestants that we wish were still in the competition. (Lookin’ at you, Team Niall’s Michael B. and Team Chance’s Kala Banham.) But, complaints notwithstanding, the lineup for the Semi-Finals is pretty damn good.

The 29thAnnual Artios Awards was held Nov. 18 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. A joint ceremony was also held in New York. The event was hosted by Aisha Tyler, who stepped up at the last minute when announced host Nicole Sullivan was unable to attend. Presenters included Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael B. Jordan, Jonathan Groff, Liam James, Ana Ortiz, and Constance Zimmer. Marg Helgenberger and Kerry Washington presented the Career Achievement and Hoyt Bowers Awards. Casting Society of America President Richard Hicks highlighted some of the Csa’s accomplishments in the last year, most notably the success of the documentary, “Casting By.” The documentary filmmakers were given a special award during the evening’s ceremony. For the first time a casting associate was also honored. In Los Angeles, Charley Medigovich was honored with the Associate Spotlight Award. Throughout the evening, there were several mentions of the notoriously camera-shy nature of casting directors.

That awkward moment when ... we can't stop staring at a photo of Zac Efron holding a cat. People has an exclusive first look at the poster promoting his latest comedy, That Awkward Moment, a movie about the trials and tribulations of dating. "That awkward moment when you realize you're attached to her kitty," reads the poster. Efron would probably welcome a snuggly feline in his life right about now: The actor broke his jaw last week after slipping in a puddle. Plans to promote the upcoming film, which costars Miles Teller, Imogen Poots and Michael B. Jordan, are not postponed.

There aren’t many events as prestigious, or as glittery, as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Governors Awards. For fans like my wife and me it’s like being a kid in Candyland, as everyone who attends is relaxed and approachable. To be able to make small talk with honorees Angela Lansbury and Steve Martin is a rare treat. The room is also peppered with likely contenders for this year’s Oscars, from directors like David O. Russell and Spike Jonze to such actors as Chiwitel Ejiofor and Michael B. Jordan. I happened to have my camera in hand when cartoon voice queen June Foray met Angela Lansbury for the first time. Talk about careers! June recently won her first Emmy...

Kids. Such as Sex, Lies, and Videotape or Reservoir Dogs before it, and such as Winter’s Bone, Blue Valentine and Fruitvale Station after it, Larry Clark & Harmony Korine’s seminal film is forever connected in “spirit” to the lieu where it received its secret midnight premiere screening in 1995. The Sundance Film Festival might be known as the birthplace of U.S indie filmmaking innovation, avant-gardism, a larger definition of the low budgeted film response to Hollywood in not only narrative but in the non-fiction form, but it is a festival made strong by its renewal and familiarity. That close acquaintanceness exists in Kids‘ starlets Rosario Dawson and Chloë Sevigny filmography/career path trajectory and connection to Park City (both have several indie films slated for ’14 – of which I’ve included in our predictions list) and it is that “familiarity” that is visibly noticeable in how I map out my annual predictions list.

According to ComingSoon.net, Fox's Fantastic Four reboot will begin filming in Baton Rouge this March. Originally, the film was scheduled to begin shooting this past June in Vancouver. Recently, the film had its release date pushed back to June 19th, 2015 from its original release of March 6, 2015. There's quite a bit of speculation that the push was to accommodate Michael B. Jordan's filming schedule. It's said that he's director Josh Trank's only choice for the Johnny Storm aka Human Torch. Miles Teller is said to be the frontrunner for Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic. There have been quite a few young actresses said to be in the mix for Susan Storm aka Invisible Woman. One role that's had very little chatter is that of Ben Grimm aka The Thing. There hasn't been a single name associated with the role. Given the age...

Roland Emmerich has been working on developing Independence Day 2 for some time now, and last we heard he's still in the process of trying to lock down Will Smith for the lead role.
The release date of the movie has been pushed back almost a year. The alien invasion sequel was supposed to come out on July 3rd, 2015, but it's now set to hit the big screen on July 1st, 2016.
If they don't land Smith they have a plan B in place as they have two scripts for the film to shoot from, one that includes Smith's character and one that doesn't.
There's still no information on the official plot of the film, but it's safe to assume that the aliens will be back to attack earth. Chronicle star Michael B. Jordan has been in talks to star in the film and will most likely join Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum.

20th Century Fox is moving the release date for the first of its 2 announced Independence Day sequels back a year, from July 3, 2015, to July 1, 2016, which would be almost exactly 20 years since the first film's July 3, 1996 theatrical debut. A move of a few months is typical, but an entire year isn't. Our last post on this was in September, when it was rumored that Michael B. Jordan was in contention for "a major role" in Roland Emmerich’s Independence Day sequels. Emmerich is said to have met with several upstarts, and Jordan was on his short list for the Fox project, although no offer had been made at the time. But Jordan is/was definitely...

Fans will have to wait an extra year for part one of another alien showdown.
Independence Day sequel ID Forever Part 1 has been pushed back to July 1, 2016, EW has confirmed. It was originally scheduled to be released July 3, 2015.
The films take place 20 years after the 1996 blockbuster, when a distress call sent by the first wave of aliens finally brings reinforcements to Earth. “The humans knew that one day the aliens would come back,” Emmerich, who completed two scripts with Independence Day co-writer Dean Devlin and has given them to White House Down writer-producer James Vanderbilt for a rewrite, previously told EW.

The alien invasion of Earth won't take place for another year.
The sequel to "Independence Day," "ID Forever Part 1," has been pushed back a year, to July 1, 2016, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Set 20 years after the original 1996 movie, the two-part sequel sees another invasion of aliens after the first wave sent a distress call for reinforcements.
"The humans knew that one day the aliens would come back," director Roland Emmerich told EW.
"And they know that the only way you can really travel in space is through wormholes. So for the aliens, it could take two or three weeks, but for us that's 20 or 25 years."
It's not clear yet if Will Smith will reprise his role as Captain Steven Hiller. Based on previous statements from Emmerich, it seems likely that the movie's hero will be Hiller's stepson. That lines up with the rumor that Michael B. Jordan is up for a major...

"He's good," Jordan told me last night at GQ's Man of the Year (Jordan is among this year's honorees). "He's going to be Ok." As E! We're starting to worry about Zac Efron's bone density! E! News reports that the actor had a nasty run-in with a puddle of water that resulted in a broken jaw and stitches. He also had to have his jaw wired shut. Last April, Efron busted his hand during a scripted fight with Dave Franco on the set of "Neighbors." That's not to mention the other medical troubles he's had this year. Yikes!
Hopefully, his jaw will be back in working order in time for the January release of his next movie, "That Awkward Moment," with Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller. At the moment, though, plans for Efron to promote the movie are on the back burner.

The recently rehabbed Parkland star, 26, broke his jaw on Sunday at his Los Angeles-area home, a source confirms to People. The insider also confirms that Efron, who slipped on a puddle, has his mouth wired shut and received stitches from a gash he suffered.
