The Dancing with the Stars ballroom will shine a bit brighter as the competition series dedicates an entire episode to the music of Whitney Houston. The vocalist and movie star, who has sold an astounding 220 million records worldwide, will be honored for her contributions to the music industry with an evening dedicated to her signature songs during season 32. Hey, "So You Think You Can Dance" fans. Tonight, August 26, 2019, another Live performance and elimination episode did indeed air, and another two unlucky dancers were sent packing at the end of it. The judges: The judges: Laurieann Gibson, Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval, Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe were on hand to give their critiques. Tonight's Live show kicked off with the remaining 8 dancers doing a group number that was choreographed by Jonathan and Oksana. Right after that, Benjamin Castro and Anna Linstruth hit the stage to perform a Tahitian routine that was choreographed by Tiana Liufau. Afterwards, Nigel said, "I love diversity of dance. I feel spoiled by Tahitian dances from the past. I didn’t feel you got into character enough." Mary said, "The hips and knees were moving incredibly fast." She gave Anna some technical critiques, and she gave Bejamin a lot of praise. Dominic said, "Anna’s hips told me a great story.

“So You Think You Can Dance” knocked out tapper Eddie Hoyt and ballroom dancer Stephanie Sosa last week in the first live eliminations of season 16. That left eight contestants in the competition, so which of them survived “Top 8 Perform” night, and which two were ousted? Find out below in our live blog with all the minute-by-minute developments as they happen.
When America’s votes were counted Eddie and Stephanie landed among the bottom two men and bottom two women with Ezra Sosa and Anna Linstruth, respectively. It was the judges who decided to keep Ezra and Anna in the competition (our readers were not too pleased with the choice to get rid of Stephanie), but if the viewing audience didn’t connect with those two surviving dancers before, was this week any different? Ezra was praised for his jazz routine the night he was saved from the chopping block, while...

Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke received the first perfect score of the season on “Dancing with the Stars” for their sizzling samba. Is he the favorite to win now? Hard to say. There’s still lots of weeks of dancing left, and there are a bunch of formidable contenders, like DeMarcus Ware, Tinashe and Milo Manheim. Plus, getting the first perfect score of the season isn’t a ticket to the Mirrorball trophy.
In the last 26 seasons, only 11 couples who earned the first perfect score of the season — a 30 or a 40, depending on the judging panel — went on to win the whole show. Five of them ended up in second place, and there were a few shocking eliminations in there, specifically Sabrina Bryan, who nabbed the first 30 twice, in Season 5 and the all-stars outing, only to be eliminated early — and five years to the day exactly.

Though her own competitive skating days are long behind her, Yamaguchi tells People she still spends four days a week at the rink with her daughter, who has been skating for five years. Whether she’ll follow her mom’s Olympic path is still up for debate, however.

As the dream sequence – which is exclusive to People – continues, Agent Sousa, who normally walks with a limp, drops his crutch and begins a song and dance routine that sweeps Agent Carter off her feet.

Wonder why Anna Trebunskaya wasn't included in the cast announcement for Season 17 of "Dancing with the Stars" on Wednesday (Sept. 4)? Well, wonder no further.
The pro dancer is four months pregnant with her first child, her rep tells People. Trebunskaya hasn't revealed the name of her baby's father. Currently single, she split from husband of nine years, fellow "DWTS" pro Jonathan Roberts, last October.
Trebunskaya hasn't let her pregnancy slow her down, however. Just last week, she took the stage with Dmitry Chaplin as a featured performer in "Ballroom With a Twist" in Ogunquit, Maine.
Congrats to the mom-to-be!

Now, this is obviously the climax of So You Think You Can Dance‘s tenth season, and we’re all having a great time watching it like thriving gay Americans. Yes. Jasmine Harper? The night started with four of the eight remaining dancers in danger on "So You Think You Can Dance." By the end of this episode, we'll be down to twelve dancers, which doesn't seem like a lot, does it? The good part about fewer dancers, however, is the opening number looks less like a riot out of "World War Z" and more like, well, dancing. And when the opening number is choreographed by Sonya Tayeh and Dmitry Chaplin? Well, then it really, really looks like dancing. Less smoke! But otherwise, this opener is a fabulous piece. I don’t think Nigel will be happy until someone Literally Dies onstage while dahhhncing for his or her life. These people simply aren’t tottering far enough off the edge of the cliff for him! They don’t care enough about still being alive… for the next 30 seconds!
The judges will be eliminating one guy and one girl at the top of the shows this season, so we already know who’s out: Spoilers ahead. The two dancers will still perform with their partners later on tonight. Crazy! I’ll post my recap of tonight’s performances later on…...

Brennan can't dance. Not unless it's a dream sequence anyway. For all her many fine qualities, we learn in "The Diamond in the Rough" that Dr. Temperance Brennan of "Bones" is a rotten dancer.
Fortunately, she's much better at solving crimes.
The crime
Thanks to Sweets (John Francis Daley) being obsessed with late-night reality garbage, the team gets hold of a strange skeleton encrusted with crystals. It turns out that the murder victim was a dancer named Katerina Wurz (played by "So You Think You Can Dance" season 9 winner Eliana Girard).
Katerina and her partner Kendrick (Dmitry Chaplin) were up-and-coming dancers in a televised competition, and it soon becomes clear that this competition is the only motive for murder. In order to catch a killer, someone has to dance.
Undercover with Buck and Wanda
Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) quickly head undercover, using their favorite aliases of Buck and Wanda Moosejaw.

"Bones" will return from its winter hiatus with a bang. Not a literal bang, of course (probably, unless there's a murder victim who gets shot), but figuratively speaking the return will represent a big night for the show. There will be two episodes -- "The Diamond in the Rough" and "The Archaeologist in the Cocoon" -- aired back-to-back on Monday (Jan. 7).
What can we expect? A video promoting the episodes may have some clues.
Granted, the video does focus primarily on the first of the two episodes, "The Diamond in the Rough." In this episode, Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) head undercover -- as Buck and Wanda Moosejaw! -- to a dance competition in order to find their murderer. Bones returns with Two new episodes back-to-back on Monday, January 14.
In the first hour, Fox pulls a little cross-promotion with So You Think You Can Dance as the team goes undercover to solve the weekly murder - and dance champs Eliana Girard and Dmitry Chaplin guest star.
In "The Diamond in the Rough," Booth and Brennan reprise their classic aliases Buck and Wanda Moosejaw at a ballroom dancing TV competition. The two Sytycd pros are some of their stiff competition.
Fortunately, it looks like B&B may be able to hang rather convincingly:
If nothing else, it'll be worth it to see David Boreanaz put on hairspray.
Also, Hodgins and Angela's expressions sum things up marvelously.
Fox has also released promotional photos from the second hour. Click to enlarge images from "The Archaeologist in the Cocoon" below for your first glimpse at this two-episode Bones 2013 premiere:...

Cross-show synergy. That's what it's all about these days. It makes sense then that "Bones" would team up with "So You Think You Can Dance" when the Jeffersonian team has to go undercover in order to solve a murder.
But can the detectives dance? Photos released from the episode indicate that they may indeed have some skills on the dance floor.
In "The Diamond in the Rough," Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) go undercover -- as Buck and Wanda Moosejaw, of course -- at a ballroom dancing TV competition.
Their competitors are impressive to say the least -- two of them are played by "Sytycd" alumni Eliana Girard (season 9) and Dmitry Chaplin (season 3).
This does not intimidate Buck and Wanda when they go to sign up though.
As anyone who watches ballroom-dancing competitions knows, part of the deal involves getting dressed up. This applies to men as well as women.

Ooh, I love Final Four night! The guy-guy and girl-girl numbers are always a blast, and a great chance for a side-by-side comparison before our final votes. Tonight we got a sexy burlesque featuring Tiffany, Eliana, and a great big pole that reminded Nigel Lythgoe of an outing he’d had with Randy Jackson. *Tmi, Nigel.* Meanwhile, Cyrus and Chehon and their seemingly painted-on torsos rippled their way through a difficult Sonya Tayeh routine filled with lifts. Plus: a stunning pas de deux, all-stars Will Wingfield, Allison Holker, and Alex Freaking Wong, and the “Glitch”/”tWitch” snap animation number we...

The Top 10 became 8 this week on So You Think You Can Dance with the first appearance by this season's All-Stars, which included fan faves Nick Lazzarini, tWitch, Brandon Bryant, Allison Holker, Jaimie Goodwin and (finally!) Alex Wong. Along with guest judge Benjamin Millepied (French ballet dancer/choreographer and married to Natalie Portman), judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy were clearly more pleased with the dancers this week after last week's disappointing Mia Michaels' tribute episode. It also probably helped that many of the dances were choreographed by Travis Wall, Nakul Dev Mahajan, Dmitry Chaplin and Emmy nominees Stacey Tookey and Spencer Liff.
AfterElton was backstage after this week's show to get Murphy's take on the show as well as grab a few minutes with the dancers, choreographers and All-Stars.

The So You Think You Can Dance All-Stars returned to dance with the Top 10 contestants Wednesday night — and look who we have here! Season 7 standout Alex Freaking Wong, who exited early because of an Achilles tendon injury and had to sit out last summer, after being invited back as an All-Star, because he’d hurt the Other Achilles tendon. I would guess that Alex Wong’s abs positively loathe his Achilles tendons for denying them their rightful opportunity to glisten on national television whenever possible.
