Raised in a dairy farm in the South East of France, her brother Hugo Annequin is an entrepreneur, and her sister Charlotte Paltrinieri works as a photographer.
Flo moved to Grenoble at age 13 to study dance intensively, and received grants for her photographic exhibitions. She completed her French baccalaureate in Biology with distinctions.
Flo Ankah moved to New York to attend the Alvin Ailey School, and graduated in modern dance from the Merce Cunningham Studio, and in improvisation comedy from Upright Citizens' Brigade.
Obtained her green card and American citizenship through her work as an actor.
During her studies, Flo worked as a personal assistant to award-winning filmmaker Jerry Schatzberg and to author Frances Kazan, organizing the archive of her late husband Elia Kazan.
