Exclusive: Captain America and The Purge star Frank Grillo is set to star in action movie Hounds Of War for Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment (Independence Day: Resurgence), which will sell the movie internationally.
The movie will follow a group of mercenaries who take on jobs that are considered impossible. After a mission goes wrong due to a shocking betrayal, only one of them is left alive to avenge his fallen brothers.

Six producers from across Canada have been selected to participate in the Whistler Film Festival’s annual Feature Project Lab. An intense two-phase business and creative content development experience for Canadian producers presented by the Whistler Film Festival in association with Telefilm Canada, Phase I will take place over five days, which started on June 22 and will end on June 25. Phase I is followed by four months of ongoing feedback and project development with advisors, and includes follow up and meetings from December 1 to 4 during the Whistler Film Festival + Summit.
Focused on strengthening dramatic feature projects from script to screen, the Wff Feature Project Lab is intended to advance a producer’s dramatic feature project, facilitate relationships and investment in feature film projects that have U.S. and international appeal. It’s all about getting content made!

Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment has injected some vitality into a torpid pre-afm stretch on the Us side, announcing it will co-finance and has taken all worldwide rights to Go With Me starring Anthony Hopkins.
Kidnapping Freddy Heineken director Daniel Alfredson reunites with Hopkins on the story of a young woman who enlists the help of a former logger and his sidekick to confront a local crime lord.
Alfredson also directed The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest. Joe Gangemi and Gregory Jacobs adapted the book by Castle Freeman Jr.
Electric is co-financing with Enderby Entertainment. Rick Dugdale of Enderby produces alongside Lindsay Williams and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein of The Gotham Group, Jacobs and Hopkins.

Dean Devlin’s sales division at Electric Entertainment has hired Nolan Pielak to work out of the newly opened Vancouver office.
Pielak will handle film and television sales in conjunction with Electric’s La-based head of international distribution Sonia Mehandjiyska.
The new arrival will also focus on expanding production and business opportunities in Canada.
He most recently served as president of international distribution at Vancouver-based Joker Films and prior to that was head of sales at Keystone Entertainment.
Pielak began at Franchise Pictures and later became president of international distribution at Dream Entertainment.
“Nolan and I started in the business at the same time and I have valued his opinion for years as a peer,” said Mehandjiyska. “Working together will be a seamless experience.”
