Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie
Directed by Kevin Finn and James D. Rolfe
Written by Kevin Finn and James D. Rolfe
2014, USA
For the uninitiated, The Angry Video Game Nerd started as a small independent Youtube series of surrealistic sketch comedy. Created by James Rolfe, the show became an internet sensation over the years amassing millions of subscribers and countless imitators. Rolfe’s foul-mouthed, hard-drinking online personality has turned him into a cult star, building a fan base interested in watching, but not necessarily playing, terrible 8-bit video games from the past. There’s a lot of rage, beer drinking, explosions, cursing, and toilet humour – but excessive profanity aside, just about every major online game review show today, owes a little something to Avgn. Rolfe might just be the world’s angriest, crudest retro-gamer but he’s also a man who’s built an empire in his basement, and truth be told,...

Sadly, the last time we saw Marissa and Bianca may be the last time we'll ever see our beloved Minx.
ABC Soaps In Depth reported late Thursday that Prospect Park has halted plans to take All My Children online — at least for the near future. The production company instead has decided to focus its resources on the web version of One Life to Live. In light of recent word that the company was having trouble finding financial backing for the venture, the news isn't surprising. But that doesn't make it any less sad for AMC fans.
Prospect Park acquired the rights to both ABC soaps last summer and planned to continue the cancelled series on a new Internet channel, The Online Network. But taking an established show to the Web proved to be an expensive proposition — more so than online advertising can support. Concentrating on a single show cuts the production budget in half and,...

Friday is a day that All My Children fans are dreading: The end of daytime as we know it. Tomorrow, after 41 years, the ABC run of the classic soap is over.
We may have a recap or two left, depending on what happens with Bianca and Marissa on the last two episodes, but we want to take the opportunity to thank the show for what it did – or at least tried to do – for les/bi women.
Bianca Montgomery is All My Children's best-known lesbian, but she wasn't the first. In 1983, psychiatrist Dr. Lynn Carson (Donna Pescow) revealed her sexual orientation — and became the first Lgbt person on an American soap.
Lynn wasn’t a main character and had no love interests that we saw, but her brief storyline was historic nonetheless.
The longest running storyline, featuring our beloved Binx, started in 2000 when Eden Riegel took the role of Bianca,...

All My Children's les/bi fans are a passionate lot, especially when Bianca is the subject. Many of us have followed our beloved Binx for years, through love and loss and too much heartbreak. Our one wish, when we learned that AMC had been cancelled, was that Bianca would find happiness.
If Christina Bennett Lind (Bianca) and Sarah Glendening (Marissa) get their way, that's exactly what will happen. The actresses are Minx fans themselves – and very proud of the storyline.
AfterEllen.com caught up with Christina and Sarah between takes earlier this week, to find out more about the people behind the story and their thoughts on Bianca and Marissa.
AfterEllen.com: Thanks so much for spending your break with us! Did you film any scenes together today?
Christina Bennett Lind: Not yet – but we do have some this afternoon.
Ae: Do you sense the show winding down?...

Question: I recently watched the pilot of Nikki & Nora, and I can't believe it wasn't picked up for a full season. Is there any chance of it being picked up at a later date, possibly by a network that was not originally approached? Or is it lost forever?

Answer: I forwarded your question to Nikki & Nora creator Nancylee Myatt, and she confirmed that the pilot starring Liz Vassey (CSI) and Christina Cox (Blood Ties) as lesbian detectives in New Orleans is indeed dead. Warner Bros. Studios and Laura Zisken Productions (who produces all the Spiderman movies) produced/own the rights to the pilot,...
