NBC has renewed The Hunting Party for a second season, despite its poor Rotten Tomatoes score. The series wasn't exactly a hit among critics in its first season. As of the writing of this article, the show's Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes sits at 18% (not much of an improvement from its initial rating). The Hunting Party debuted with a rare 0% Rt score, but against all odds, it's set to return for season 2 on NBC. Perhaps its conflicting Popcornmeter (83%) on the review-aggregation website was enough to convince the network to order a second season.

The Hunting Party season 2 will air on Thursdays at 10 pm Et on NBC (following Law & Order at 8 pm Et and Law & Order: Svu at 9 pm Et) starting in the fall of 2025.

The Hunting Party, starring Melissa Roxburgh as an FBI profiler, premiered in January 2025, with its first season consisting of 10 episodes and ending in April.

The Hunting Party Season 1 finale went out with a bang. The writers decided to go big or go home, and let’s hope their idea worked.

Massive cliffhangers are always risky when a series hasn’t been renewed yet, though sometimes it helps.

Revealing several secrets and putting two main characters in danger was one way to go, since it forced Bex to evaluate her relationships on The Hunting Party Season 1 Episode 10.

Actress Eliza Coupe responded to fans who criticized her appearance at the premiere of the Netflix series The Residence.

On March 19, Coupe, known for her role in the sitcom Happy Endings, posed on the red carpet at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles in a gold sequin dress with a black coat draped over her shoulder. She also wore smokey eye makeup, a black fur coat and black thigh-high boots. Her blonde hair was shaggy and shoulder-length.

Her fans shared their negative reactions to her appearance on the social media platform X. Many claimed that the actress looked “unrecognizable.”

Eliza Coupe is hitting back at people criticizing her for looking “unrecognizable” at the premiere of her new Netflix series The Residence.

The 43-year-old actress is best known for playing Jane Kerkovich-Williams in the ABC comedy series Happy Endings and Denise “Jo” Mahoney in the final two seasons of NBC’s comedy series Scrubs.

Eliza is now playing Margery Bay Bix in the new Netflix murder mystery series.

The murder-of-the-week at the center of ABC’s High Potential episode 10, “Chutes and Murders,” is introduced when two little girls literally collide with a dead body. A playground slide turns into a murder scene when the girls find their passage blocked by a corpse.

Nannies reveal the dead woman is Tara Foley, also a nanny who frequents the park. The medical examiner tells the detectives a heavy blow to the head killed her. Her attacker hit Tara nearby, and then she crawled into the slide to escape. She died around 10pm, and unfortunately, there aren’t any CCTV cameras nearby.

The nannies reveal a weird guy had been hanging around the park, and he seemed interested in Tara.

It looks like High Potential is, once again, back to putting the case of Roman’s disappearance on the back burner. This series is amazing, but it’s playing a game of chicken with the audience.

Not that I’m complaining or anything, but a little consistency goes a long way. If you’re anything like this TV Fanatic, you like your loose ends wrapped up nicely in a bow.

High Potential has delivered one amazing episode after another with a cast of incredibly talented actors — not to mention writing that takes audiences on an emotional roller coaster.

What more could the executives at ABC need to give a knock-out series like this the go-ahead for another season? Hell, give High Potential a multiple-season renewal.

If for no other reason than for some assurance that we will see some of the hilarious characters introduced in High Potential Season 1 Episode 10 again.

Damon Wayans Jr. was part of the ensemble cast of Happy Endings, and his real-life father, Damon Wayans Sr., had a one-episode guest appearance on the show. Wayans Sr. played Brad’s father, a veteran in town for some medical tests in season 1, episode 5, “Like Father, Like Gun.” From their stilted early interactions to their tender heart-to-heart at the end, the Wayans father and son stole the episode from the Happy Endings' best characters.

Over a decade later, the Wayans are reprising their roles as a father-son pair in Poppa’s House, a show Wayans Sr. co-created. Poppa’s House is built around the comedic chemistry the Wayans naturally share, given the Wayans family's long history in show business. Nearly 15 years after its divisive conclusion, Scrubs is headed back to the small screen. A revival series has been teased by the show's cast for years, and it's finally in development. Details have been trickling in, and now we know more about what we can expect the show's premise to be. During a conversation with Collider, Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence revealed that the series will take place in the present time and won't pick up right after the original show's conclusion. Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence is bringing back the medical comedy 15 years later after the show ended with a notoriously disliked final season. Despite having the opportunity to retcon that ninth season in different ways, Lawrence says the upcoming reboot will honor the controversial events of Seasn 9, which mainly focused on a new set of characters (in a new location) — something that wasn't fully embraced by Scrubs fans. While Season 9 did see most of the original stars return in guest roles, Donald Faison and John C. McGinley were the only two to return in recurring roles. That was obviously a bold choice (given the popularity of the show's original cast)... and it didn't pay off: Scrubs was canceled following its ninth season.

But, despite all that, Lawrence says there is room for Scrubs' talented final season cast in the upcoming revival. During a conversation with TVLine, Lawrence defended his stance, saying,...

Though it's still early in the process, original cast members such as Zach Braff, Donald Faison, John C. McGinley, and potentially others are expected to reprise their roles in some capacity.

In the latest update, Lawrence tells TVLine that the revival won't retcon and erase the events of Scrubs season 9 — which focused on a largely new group of characters. In the quote below, the series praised that last season and mentions that he would like to see some of the actors in that season reprise their roles. He also teased that the upcoming episodes will introduce new interns:

Netflix and Shondaland just released the first official photo from The Residence, a murder mystery created by Paul William Davies (Scandal) and inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s novel. The eight-episode season premieres on March 20, 2025.

“The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion. Uzo Aduba stars as Cordelia Cupp, a consulting detective for the Metropolitan Police Department,” reads Netflix’s synopsis. “Known for her wry humor, relentless pursuit of truth, and sharp eye for human behavior, Cupp is the most sought-after detective in the world—and an avid birder to boot.

Joining her is Randall Park as Special Agent Edwin Park of the FBI, who is tasked with partnering with Cupp during a high-stakes State Dinner.

Shondaland’s White House murder mystery series “The Residence” will premiere on Netflix on March 20, 2025.

The streamer also released a first-look image of the “screwball whodunnit,” starring Uzo Aduba as detective Cordelia Cupp and Randall Park as FBI agent Edwin Park.

Paul William Davies serves as creator, showrunner, writer and executive producer of “The Residence,” which is also executive produced by Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers.

The reboot of Scrubs gets a detailed and promising response from series creator Bill Lawrence. After years of speculation and talk of a follow-up movie at one point, Lawrence revealed in August that there were plans to move ahead with a Scrubs reboot. The news quickly sparked interest, given the enduring popularity of the medical comedy, which starred Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins, John C. McGinley, and Judy Reyes, and ran from October 2001 to March 2010.

In an interview with Deadline, Lawrence gives a detailed update on the progress of the Scrubs reboot. He mentions one specific obstacle for the project is having to work out a deal with Warner Bros. TV, where Lawrence has an exclusive deal and has produced recent shows like Bad Monkey, Shrinking, and Ted Lasso. Meanwhile, the reboot would have to be produced by Disney's 20th Television.

Scrubs season 9 certainly felt like a spinoff despite not being officially marketed as one, but the sitcom actually launched an official spinoff show alongside season 8 that crashed and burned but didn't dissuade showrunner Bill Lawrence from taking the main project into its Med School era. Of all nine seasons of Scrubs, the ninth is often labeled the worst. The sitcom's transformation and cast overhaul resulted in it feeling much different from the previous eight seasons. Not every doctor from Scrubs returned for the Med School run, but those that did come back had a reduced role.

Just like Med School, the other Scrubs spinoff also only ran for a single season. Zach Braff has now revealed why the ninth and final season of the hit sitcom Scrubs was so bad. While Scrubs is still considered one of the best sitcoms ever made, the last season was a major disappointment at the time, with many now viewing it as more of a spinoff rather than part of the main show. It was technically titled Scrubs: Med School after all. In an interview for Michael Rosenbaums Inside of You podcast, Braff explained why Season 9 was so lacking, revealing that everyone involved was exhausted and had even started to repeat jokes.

By the time nine years were over, we were sort of all exhausted by it. I felt like, at the time, we were starting to repeat jokes. Everyone was pretty fried. We would do insane hours that people dont even do anymore.

We didnt really have much of a life outside of it.

Happy Endings and The Mindy Project fan favorite Adam Pally credits a twist of fate for helping launch his new comedy mockumentary series Mr. Throwback on Peacock, co-starring NBA Golden State Warriors titan and Olympian Stephen Curry. In a recent MovieWeb interview, Pally said:

Scrubs will return to the small screen if Bill Lawrence has his way. The creator of the comedy spoke about the series when promoting his new Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey, and he is interested in reviving the comedy. However, he isn’t interested in making a movie, per Deadline.

In a new interview with LADbible, the creator of the hospital-based comedy, Bill Lawrence, has now stated that its only a matter of time before a revival or reboot happens.

Lawrence revealed that he is definitely going to do a continuation of Scrubs, and that he now plans to figure it out in the next six months. Which, for fans, proves he is, in fact, a Superman.

Fans of Happy Endings will soon have a way to relive the moments from the show.

Casey Wilson and costar Adam Pally will co-host a Happy Endings rewatch podcast, premiering next week, People reports.

“We interviewed everybody and it’s so dumb and so silly. It’s really ridiculous,” says Wilson, who publicist Penny Hartz in the ABC sitcom during its three-season run.

Happy Endings starred Wilson, Pally, Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Zachary Knighton and Damon Wayans Jr. The series followed the six as best friends living in Chicago. It ended in 2014.

There is some hope of a revival, Wilson said, although business complications are making that a slow process.

“Which couldn’t be more boring,” she says.
