NBC has renewed The Hunting Party for a second season, despite its poor Rotten Tomatoes score. The series wasn't exactly a hit among critics in its first season. As of the writing of this article, the show's Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes sits at 18% (not much of an improvement from its initial rating). The Hunting Party debuted with a rare 0% Rt score, but against all odds, it's set to return for season 2 on NBC. Perhaps its conflicting Popcornmeter (83%) on the review-aggregation website was enough to convince the network to order a second season.
The Hunting Party season 2 will air on Thursdays at 10 pm Et on NBC (following Law & Order at 8 pm Et and Law & Order: Svu at 9 pm Et) starting in the fall of 2025.
The Hunting Party, starring Melissa Roxburgh as an FBI profiler, premiered in January 2025, with its first season consisting of 10 episodes and ending in April.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Hunting Party Season 1 finale “Jenna Wells.”] “I lied,” Bex (Melissa Roxburgh) admits in the final moments of The Hunting Party. She’s talking to Oliver (Nick Wechsler) as he’s dying in her arms. The team tracks down Jenna Wells (Eliza Coupe) in the finale, and the killer, before they eventually take her down, finds her way into the command center and uses her special brand of poison on Oliver. But there has to be hope … right? It’s not looking good, and that’s when Bex admits, “I think about you and Sam.” Other big moments from the finale: Mallory (Zabryna Guevara) shuts down the team when things go sideways hunting down Jenna, and Shane’s (Josh McKenzie) mom is revealed to be a former inmate, now Colonel Lazarus (Kari Matchett). The Hunting Party Season 1 finale went out with a bang. The writers decided to go big or go home, and let’s hope their idea worked.
Massive cliffhangers are always risky when a series hasn’t been renewed yet, though sometimes it helps.
Revealing several secrets and putting two main characters in danger was one way to go, since it forced Bex to evaluate her relationships on The Hunting Party Season 1 Episode 10.
(David Astorga/NBC)
Before we dive into that, let’s discuss the weekly killer, how she connected to the Pit and tried to take over Bex’s life.
James Whitmore Was Dangerous Since He Thought He Created a Miracle Drug
James Whitmore was more evil than most of the serial killers in the Pit. He seemed diabolical that he would create a drug that affected emotional responses in his subjects.
The Way Home Didn’t Just Let Go...

You know that The Voice had a good night when I make it all the way through a recap without giving a grade lower than a B+. Such was the case Monday as Season 27’s Knockouts continued with seven outstanding performances — and one that must have really fallen short as we didn’t even get the obligatory snippet of it. I’ll add the video when it drops later. In the meantime, let’s discuss, shall we?
Team Bublé: Kaiya Hamilton singing “Here” (Grade: A) defeated Divighn singing “Harder to Breathe” (Grade: B+) | On Maroon 5’s hit, Divighn lived up to his name.

The new Shondaland murder mystery series “The Residence” shares some DNA with another Netflix whodunit: Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out” film.
“It resuscitated the genre,” showrunner Paul William Davies told Variety at “The Residence” premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday, revealing that Johnson’s film was a “hugely important” guidepost for his show in the way that it drew inspiration from 1970s whodunits.
“He played around with the history,” Davies explained. “That really opened the door for a lot of us to be like, ‘Oh, yeah, we can do that again.'”
“The Residence,” which is now streaming on Netflix, stars Uzo Aduba as the wildly eccentric detective (and legendary birder) Cordelia Cupp, who is tasked with solving a murder that takes place during a White House state dinner. In creating the screwball comedy — which features a sprawling cast that includes Susan Kelechi Watson, Randall Park and Ken Marino — Davies...

Eliza Coupe starred on the beloved NBC sitcom Scrubs from 2009 to 2010.
These days, she’s still a working actress, so it’s not like the 43-year-old has gone into hiding.
It seems, however, that Scrubs fans have not kept up with Eliza in the years since that show came to an end, as many of them were surprised by her appearance at a recent red carpet event.

Well, the opening of The Residence episode 6 reveals she's in Ecuador birding for the Giant Antpitta. Someone arrives to her treehouse in the forest to deliver more resources for Cordelia.
Meanwhile, Harry Hollinger approaches senior senator Aaron Filkins (Al Franken) about his name coming up in the hearings by Margery Bay Bix and allowing everyone to turn it into a murder mystery. Filkins assuages Hollinger by suggesting he'll make a deal with Bix. Well, Bix later turns the deal down.

“The Residence” was one of the first projects Shondaland announced to be in development back in 2018, as part of the company’s massive producing deal with Netflix. One pandemic and two strikes later — plus the death of a key cast member — the brilliant whodunnit starring Uzo Aduba is finally making its debut Thursday.
Created by Paul William Davies and based on the non-fiction book “The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House” by Kate Andersen Brower, the series delivers a meticulous survey on the lives and inner workings of the White House staff, through the scope of a sweeping murder investigation led by Cordelia Cupp (Uzo Aduba), known as “the best detective in the world.”

In Shondaland’s latest Netflix series, “The Residence,” created by Paul William Davies and inspired by Kate Andersen Brower’s book “The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House,” viewers get a bird’s eye view (pun intended) of the inner workings of one of America’s most enduring institutions. Every day, hundreds of people labor behind the scenes to ensure everything from major events to the president’s living quarters are seamlessly attended to. A hilarious, eclectic and often bizarre murder mystery, “The Residence” is the closest thing to a comedy that executive producer Shonda Rhimes has ever done. The show is an overwhelming 1000-piece puzzle that eventually comes together should audiences have the patience to stick it out.

When Jennifer Euston was casting Orange Is the New Black, it stands to reason that she was selecting interesting performers first and, given the show’s evocative opening credits, interesting faces second. But somewhere on the opening page of criteria, there must have been a listing that read: “Must also be capable of fronting a Columbo-esque mystery procedural.”
In the case of Kate Mulgrew, she’d already starred in the iconic spinoff series, Mrs. Columbo.
Natasha Lyonne is weeks away from the return of her Emmy-nominated turn as human lie detector Charlie Cale in Peacock’s Poker Face.
New to the murder-solving fray is Uzo Aduba, exceptionally eccentric in Netflix’s new Shondaland-produced The Residence. The show is the latest entry in both the burgeoning Orange Is the New Forensic Investigation genre and the even more burgeoning The World’s Greatest Detective Is a Weirdo genre.

Un asesinato en la mismísima Casa Blanca. © Netflix

Netflix and Shondaland have revealed the official trailer and key art for the upcoming series The Residence, which will launch on the streaming service on March 20, 2025.
132 rooms. 157 suspects. One dead body. One wildly eccentric detective. One disastrous State Dinner. The Residence is a screwball whodunnit set in the upstairs, downstairs, and backstairs of the White House, among the eclectic staff of the world’s most famous mansion.
Uzo Aduba stars as Cordelia Cupp, a consulting detective for the Metropolitan Police Department. Known for her wry humor, relentless pursuit of truth and a sharp eye for human behavior, Cupp is the most sought-after detective in the world—and an avid birder to boot.
Joining her is Randall Park as Special Agent Edwin Park of the FBI, who is tasked with partnering with Cupp during a high-stakes State Dinner. While Park harbors skepticism about Cupp’s unconventional methods, their dynamic promises to...

A White House-set whodunnit from Shonda Rhimes? We’re seated.
The latest Netflix series from mega-producer Rhimes is a mix of “Only Murders in the Building” meets “Knives Out,” with Rhimes and executive producing partner Betsy Beers reuniting with “Scandal” alum Paul William Davies to go back to D.C.
The screwball crime comedy stars Uzo Aduba as Metropolitan Police Department consulting detective Cordelia Cupp, who is tasked with solving a murder alongside FBI Special Agent Edwin Park (Randall Park). The duo are billed as a modern-day Sherlock and Watson and ”Odd Couple” team, as Aduba’s Cupp is the most sought-after detective in the world but Park remains skeptical about her unconventional methods.
As the character description teases for Aduba’s role, Cupp is “an astute observer of human behavior, with a distinctive and – to some, unsettling – conversational style. As she dives deeper into the evening’s events and key suspects,...

Whoever they have in the High Potential writers’ room is certainly having a good time letting their imaginations run wild with these cases of the week.
“The Sauna at the End of the Stairs” was far more fun than it had any right to be.
Also, I’m not a true crime nut, but that’s the name of a murder documentary that I would absolutely watch.
(Disney/Carlos Lopez-Calleja)
As I’ve said before, many of the episodes, including this one, feel like they could be fleshed out into multiple parts.
Do you know what else has become a common occurrence on High Potential? Sleazy victims who kind of had it coming.
Seriously, what is with the majority of the victims being terrible people when they were alive?

Kaitlin Olson and Daniel Sunjata in ‘High Potential’ episode 10 (Disney/Carlos Lopez-Calleja)
The murder-of-the-week at the center of ABC’s High Potential episode 10, “Chutes and Murders,” is introduced when two little girls literally collide with a dead body. A playground slide turns into a murder scene when the girls find their passage blocked by a corpse.
Nannies reveal the dead woman is Tara Foley, also a nanny who frequents the park. The medical examiner tells the detectives a heavy blow to the head killed her. Her attacker hit Tara nearby, and then she crawled into the slide to escape. She died around 10pm, and unfortunately, there aren’t any CCTV cameras nearby.
The nannies reveal a weird guy had been hanging around the park, and he seemed interested in Tara.

High Potential Season 1 Episode 10 Is a Masterclass in Restraint, Forcing Morgan Into Mama Bear Mode

It looks like High Potential is, once again, back to putting the case of Roman’s disappearance on the back burner. This series is amazing, but it’s playing a game of chicken with the audience.
Not that I’m complaining or anything, but a little consistency goes a long way. If you’re anything like this TV Fanatic, you like your loose ends wrapped up nicely in a bow.
High Potential has delivered one amazing episode after another with a cast of incredibly talented actors — not to mention writing that takes audiences on an emotional roller coaster.
(Disney/Carlos Lopez-Calleja)
What more could the executives at ABC need to give a knock-out series like this the go-ahead for another season? Hell, give High Potential a multiple-season renewal.
If for no other reason than for some assurance that we will see some of the hilarious characters introduced in High Potential Season 1 Episode 10 again.

Damon Wayans Jr. was part of the ensemble cast of Happy Endings, and his real-life father, Damon Wayans Sr., had a one-episode guest appearance on the show. Wayans Sr. played Brad’s father, a veteran in town for some medical tests in season 1, episode 5, “Like Father, Like Gun.” From their stilted early interactions to their tender heart-to-heart at the end, the Wayans father and son stole the episode from the Happy Endings' best characters.
Over a decade later, the Wayans are reprising their roles as a father-son pair in Poppa’s House, a show Wayans Sr. co-created. Poppa’s House is built around the comedic chemistry the Wayans naturally share, given the Wayans family's long history in show business. Given how talented they are separately and together, it is surprising it took over a decade since their Happy Endings episode for Damon Wayans Sr. and Damon Wayans Jr. to get their own...

Nearly 15 years after its divisive conclusion, Scrubs is headed back to the small screen. A revival series has been teased by the show's cast for years, and it's finally in development. Details have been trickling in, and now we know more about what we can expect the show's premise to be. During a conversation with Collider, Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence revealed that the series will take place in the present time and won't pick up right after the original show's conclusion. That's a good thing, given the time that has lapsed and that the medical field was turned upside down by the Covid-19 pandemic.
"With the creative side, the show's not going to pick up a day later. It can't. I'm interested in where these characters are, that many years later. I always remember the finale of Scrubs, in Season 8, with J.D. saying he has a dream of how things would go and,...

Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence is bringing back the medical comedy 15 years later after the show ended with a notoriously disliked final season. Despite having the opportunity to retcon that ninth season in different ways, Lawrence says the upcoming reboot will honor the controversial events of Seasn 9, which mainly focused on a new set of characters (in a new location) — something that wasn't fully embraced by Scrubs fans. While Season 9 did see most of the original stars return in guest roles, Donald Faison and John C. McGinley were the only two to return in recurring roles. That was obviously a bold choice (given the popularity of the show's original cast)... and it didn't pay off: Scrubs was canceled following its ninth season.
But, despite all that, Lawrence says there is room for Scrubs' talented final season cast in the upcoming revival. During a conversation with TVLine, Lawrence defended his stance, saying,...

Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence confirms that the revival won't retcon season 9. After years of speculation, it was recently confirmed that a Scrubs revival is moving ahead at ABC and 20th Television. Though it's still early in the process, original cast members such as Zach Braff, Donald Faison, John C. McGinley, and potentially others are expected to reprise their roles in some capacity.
In the latest update, Lawrence tells TVLine that the revival won't retcon and erase the events of Scrubs season 9 — which focused on a largely new group of characters. In the quote below, the series praised that last season and mentions that he would like to see some of the actors in that season reprise their roles. He also teased that the upcoming episodes will introduce new interns:

Just like the season that had preceded it, Scrubs season 9 introduced several figures to the sitcom's formula, but it left out one of season 8's brilliant new characters who would have improved the divisive Med School era. As fans will remember, not all nine seasons of Scrubs were the same, as the show's final run received a drastic overhaul that's reported to have been originally intended as a spinoff rather than season 9 of the same sitcom. Scrubs' final era caused its cancellation, but it could have been improved by keeping one of the freshest characters in play.

The Scrubs revival's ending can only really happen one way if the arc of Zach Braff's Dr. John "Jd" Dorian is going to be truly satisfying, but it would also require a reshuffle in the hierarchy of Sacred Heart Hospital. Although John C. McGinley's Dr. Percival "Perry" Cox served as the second-most senior of all the Doctors in Scrubs for the first eight seasons, he became Chief of Medicine in the sitcom's penultimate run. Doing so would have implied a perfect ending if Jd had stuck around as his second-in-command, but the imminent Scrubs revival can fix the misstep.
Just like Dr. Cox served as Jd's mentor throughout all nine seasons of Scrubs - even after the pair had parted ways - Braff's character took a few different characters under his wing as well. However, most of Jd's mentees didn't stick around all that long. As such, the...

The reboot of Scrubs gets a detailed and promising response from series creator Bill Lawrence. After years of speculation and talk of a follow-up movie at one point, Lawrence revealed in August that there were plans to move ahead with a Scrubs reboot. The news quickly sparked interest, given the enduring popularity of the medical comedy, which starred Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Donald Faison, Neil Flynn, Ken Jenkins, John C. McGinley, and Judy Reyes, and ran from October 2001 to March 2010.
In an interview with Deadline, Lawrence gives a detailed update on the progress of the Scrubs reboot. He mentions one specific obstacle for the project is having to work out a deal with Warner Bros. TV, where Lawrence has an exclusive deal and has produced recent shows like Bad Monkey, Shrinking, and Ted Lasso. Meanwhile, the reboot would have to be produced by Disney's 20th Television.

Scrubs season 9 certainly felt like a spinoff despite not being officially marketed as one, but the sitcom actually launched an official spinoff show alongside season 8 that crashed and burned but didn't dissuade showrunner Bill Lawrence from taking the main project into its Med School era. Of all nine seasons of Scrubs, the ninth is often labeled the worst. The sitcom's transformation and cast overhaul resulted in it feeling much different from the previous eight seasons. Not every doctor from Scrubs returned for the Med School run, but those that did come back had a reduced role.
Just like Med School, the other Scrubs spinoff also only ran for a single season. It encountered many of the same issues as Scrubs season 9 did, and instead of learning from those missteps, the main show essentially replicated them after the original run ended. New Girl is definitely one of the most heartwarmingly funny series about friends and love created by Elizabeth Meriwether. Zach Braff has now revealed why the ninth and final season of the hit sitcom Scrubs was so bad. While Scrubs is still considered one of the best sitcoms ever made, the last season was a major disappointment at the time, with many now viewing it as more of a spinoff rather than part of the main show. It was technically titled Scrubs: Med School after all. In an interview for Michael Rosenbaums Inside of You podcast, Braff explained why Season 9 was so lacking, revealing that everyone involved was exhausted and had even started to repeat jokes.
By the time nine years were over, we were sort of all exhausted by it. I felt like, at the time, we were starting to repeat jokes. Everyone was pretty fried. We would do insane hours that people dont even do anymore.
We didnt really have much of a life outside of it.

Happy Endings and The Mindy Project fan favorite Adam Pally credits a twist of fate for helping launch his new comedy mockumentary series Mr. Throwback on Peacock, co-starring NBA Golden State Warriors titan and Olympian Stephen Curry. In a recent MovieWeb interview, Pally said:
Steph's amazingly talented wife, Ayesha, had a show on HBO [About Last Night], and my wife and I were on it, and so was David Caspe and his wife, Casey Wilson [both of Happy Endings], a good friend of mine. Everyone just kind of hit it off in this very playful way, and the next day, their producer called us because I think they knew that we were looking for something to do together again. And they said, Do you have any ideas for a show? And we said, Give us a second.
The next call went to Happy Endings and Champaign Ill writers Matthew and Daniel Libman,...

Frasier, Sex and the City, Full House, That 70s Show: revivals of popular sitcoms are big business in this modern era, and Scrubs could be the next hit show to follow the trend. In a new interview with LADbible, the creator of the hospital-based comedy, Bill Lawrence, has now stated that its only a matter of time before a revival or reboot happens.
Lawrence revealed that he is definitely going to do a continuation of Scrubs, and that he now plans to figure it out in the next six months. Which, for fans, proves he is, in fact, a Superman.
You know, Im really candid about it. Were definitely going to do it, just because weve all been enjoying hanging out. Look, theres no huge drive because everybodys successful, and I think the show was on for like, 72 years, but the on the other hand, medical people over here right...

Fans of Happy Endings will soon have a way to relive the moments from the show.
Casey Wilson and costar Adam Pally will co-host a Happy Endings rewatch podcast, premiering next week, People reports.
“We interviewed everybody and it’s so dumb and so silly. It’s really ridiculous,” says Wilson, who publicist Penny Hartz in the ABC sitcom during its three-season run.
Happy Endings starred Wilson, Pally, Eliza Coupe, Elisha Cuthbert, Zachary Knighton and Damon Wayans Jr. The series followed the six as best friends living in Chicago. It ended in 2014.
There is some hope of a revival, Wilson said, although business complications are making that a slow process.
“Which couldn’t be more boring,” she says.
