Joe Stone(IV)

Joe Stone is originally from the dusty eastern Sierra town of Ridgecrest, Calif. and moved the 150 miles south to Los Angeles at the age of 12. As a college student at USC he studied oboe with Bill Criss and saxophone with Harvey Pittel. He is now a Hollywood based oboe/English horn player who also performs on flute, saxophone, clarinet, and recorders. With over 40 years of experience as a professional musician he has played on over 60 movie soundtracks, multiple episodic TV soundtracks, and recorded and played live with Barry Manilow, Johnny Mathis, and Neil Diamond to name a few. Examples of his playing as English horn soloist can be found in Jurassic World(2015), Zootopia, Star Trek:Beyond, Star Wars: Rogue One, Inside Out, Frozen and Frozen 2 (songs only). Examples as oboe soloist can be heard in Ratatouille, Moana, Kronk's New Groove, and Zenon:The Zequel. On saxophone, Mr. Stone was in the section for The Incredibles, Up, Monte Carlo, Cars 2. He is ever grateful to his loving wife, Laura, who finds new ways to inspire him every day.
