- [upon being asked whether he still listened to their old music] Yes, and we laugh!
- [You practise yoga?] Yes, I do sahaja yoga. Every morning and evening I sit down for 15 min and meditate. Physically I am not doing anything and I try to balance my thoughts. That gives balance to my life and I feel stronger spiritually. [And how do you practise yoga on tour? Can you even find a place to go?] Yes, I go to the hotel room. [Don't the other guys bother you?] I usually share my hotel room with the guitarist Pauli but he doesn't bother me. [Have you ever tried to convince the other guys to try yoga?] They have tried it once but they realise that yoga is not for them. If they ever change their minds I am here to teach them but I don't want to push them against their will.
- [What do you think about the constant comparisons with you and HIM? Does that annoy you are does it amuse you?] We are actually amused. In a way the comparisons are correct because they also play melodic rock and have a great energy but their lyrics are more depressed and I don't like that so much. [What's your relationship with them?] Every now and then we meet them at a festival. We support each other but our attitudes are different.
- [I heard that you said: When you get on the tour bus, smelling like hell, telling the worst jokes and still feeling comfortable than you know you're in the right place.] Yes, I wanted to say we are great friends and that we enjoy it if we sit in the same bus without having to worry about looking great and smelling nicely or being nice to each other. We can be as we are and that's enough.
- [Is it true that you encouraged your singer Lauri to smoke for him to get a more rough voice?] Yes, it's true but we weren't the ones who encouraged him. The producers did that. But I think Lauri enjoyed it during the making of the album so I think that wasn't a big pressure for him. It wasn't hard for him.
- [Why do you think gothic pop rock is so popular right now in Scandinavia?] I don't know. Never, not even in the beginning, we didn't call our stile gothic rock. We have always been defied as melodic rock. Our lyrics may be a bit melancholic sometimes but in my opinion gothic rock is an invention made by the press. I wouldn't say we're like that myself. It is true that our new single In my life is played a lot on radios but now retro rock is more popular in Scandinavia.
- [Did you meet Red Hot Chili Peppers? Did you talk to them?] No, we only talked to their drummer (Chad Smith) who told us that he liked our music from what he could hear from backstage.
- [When was the breakthrough for you? When did you realise we are ready to became a well-known group?] That happened this year when we started playing in all of Europe. [Has your life changed?] Yes, we have to worry about a lot of things. We have a lot of work but I enjoy this type of life. I like being with my friends and playing.
- [Your hit In the Shadows talks about how pointless military service is. I have heard that your singer Lauri is in reality resisting to serve.] None of us has actually joined the army though that is necessary in Finland. Maybe we will in the future. Lauri just doesn't want to because he thinks military service is just learning to kill. [What do you think about that?] I will probably serve military service but it's impossible to right now because we have too much work to do. In Finland we can postpone military service.
- [What are you doing when you are home alone?] Gardening is a good thing.
- [What is your opinion on trouble in school? Did anyone ever bully you?] I believe some people thought we were different. While others played hockey and football, we played music. I think they bully youths who are different.
- [What would you consider a fan going to far?] Everything to do with our music is for our fans. But our private life belongs to us.
- [If you had not become a musician, what would you have become instead?] A teacher.
- [Is there a song you (The Rasmus) wish you had created?] "Ukko Nooa" [traditional drinking song], that song is very good. (everybody laughs)
