Peta Murgatroyd found a funny way to surprise her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, with news she was expecting their third child.
“I’m so nervous!” Peta yelled at the start of a video shared online with friends, fans, and family.
“He is not gonna know what hit him,” she said, adding, “Oh my God. I just gave birth!”
From there, she placed a FaceTime call to her husband to deliver the big news playfully.
According to her caption, she had two friends help secretly film the call so she could share it on Instagram.

“Dancing with the Stars” premiered in 2005 with a focus on teaching celebrities some fancy footwork. But along the way the professional dancers who teach and partner with those celebrity amateurs became stars in their own right. Many of them returned to the show year after year, and over a dozen have won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy over the course of the series. Scroll down to see every single “DWTS” pro champion, listed by their number of victories.
It’s fitting that the “DWTS” pros have become fan-favorites because they’re not just dancers. They’re also trainers, choreographers and storytellers, and their chemistry with the stars fuels the show’s best routines, so they’re truly the lifeblood of the competition, especially when they bring talent and charisma out of unexpected places, from child stars to race car drivers to one male model, Nyle Dimarco, who won the Mirror...

“I’m thrilled. You know, I think everyone who comes in this at some point really wants to buckle down and move toward the end. And I’m thrilled that I’ve been able to escape some what might be called close calls and to advance every week,” says “Brady Bunch” actor Barry Williams about making it to the top seven on “Dancing with the Stars.” “I look forward to every week. Every week is like starting all over again fresh because it is.” Watch our exclusive video interview with Williams above.

Williams is partnered with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd, who previously won Mirror Ball Trophies with football star Donald Driver and model Nyle Dimarco. To learn any dance on the show, Williams and Murgatroyd first “listen to the song to see kind of what the movement is.

Actors Sherri Shepherd and Jo Marie Payton have joined the feature film “ImPossible” in key roles.
The movie, from executive producer and NFL champ Donald Driver, will weave narrative with Brandon Keith Lewis’ real-life diabetes battle. He stars and co-wrote the film with partner Seckeita Lewis, who directs. Lewis contends with morbid obesity and type 2 diabetes onscreen and in his life.
Shepherd and Payton (the beloved matriarch of the TV classic “Family Matters”) are joined by supporting cast Gregg Daniel and Irma P. Hall. Principal photography recently wrapped in Texas and New Mexico, and a second unit documenting Lewis’ efforts to change his body and life will soon get underway.
“ImPossible” received a Panavision New Filmmakers grant and was incubated at the Sundance Collab producers’ course. Milan Chakraborty of Marginal MediaWorks (“Assassination Nation”) will produce with Lewis. A distributor is not presently attached.

“Unchanging Evolution”
By Raymond Benson
The early 1970s was a time of experimentation and risk-taking in Hollywood. Studios were more willing to allow filmmakers to take a project and run with it, just to see if something thrown at the wall would stick. After all, this was the period of “New Hollywood,” maverick young directors just out of film school, and pushing the envelope when it came to what was permissible on screen since the Production Code was gone and the relatively new movie ratings were in place.
Playboy Enterprises got into the movie making business in the early 70s. After the critical success of Roman Polanski’s Macbeth (1971), Playboy produced The Naked Ape (1973), loosely adapted from Desmond Morris’ 1967 best-selling non-fiction book.

The third time has been anything but a charm for “Dancing with the Stars” pros, but you hope Cheryl Burke can become just the second pro to win a third Mirrorball trophy.
Burke is one of three two-time winners competing this season, along with Val Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, and 43 percent of you want her to notch a third win first. Derek Hough, who is now a judge on the show, owns the most Mirrorballs, at a whopping six, and no one else has won more than two.
The result isn’t that surprising since Burke has the most seniority and the longest gap since her last win of the three. Now in her 23rd season, she won on her very first try, Season 2 with Drew Lachey, and defended her crown the following season with Emmitt Smith, becoming the first two-time champ. She’s since had two second-place finishes and three third-place finishes.

Three wins is a very tough barrier for “Dancing with the Stars” pros to cross — well, unless you’re name is Derek Hough. The new judge is the only pro to have crossed that threshold, having nabbed a record six victories. Six other pros have triumphed twice, three of whom — Cheryl Burke, Val Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd — have yet another chance to add a third this season. Who would you like to see lift their third Mirrorball trophy?
Now in her 23rd season, Burke came in to “Dancing” hot: She joined in Season 2 and won that with Drew Lachey and then backed it up with a second straight victory in the third season with Emmitt Smith. She’s since notched two second-place finishes and three third-place finishes.

On September 2 “Dancing with the Stars” announced the celebrities who will compete for the Mirror Ball Trophy in season 29. And now you can predict who will win the competition series. You can place your bets here in our predictions center now and every week until a champion is crowned this fall. You can also bet on who will be eliminated, who will get the highest scores and who will get the lowest scores.
It’s tricky to forecast the winner this early. After all, the competition hasn’t even started yet. But we can get some hints about the potential of some celebs based on the history of “DWTS.” For instance, football players often make the finals, and four of them have won, so this year’s NFL alum, Super Bowl champion Vernon Davis, must immediately be considered a force to be reckoned with.

“Dancing with the Stars” announced its season 29 celebrities on September 2. So who are the contestants vying for the Mirror Ball Trophy when the season premieres on September 14? Scroll down to see the complete list.
You’ve always got to watch out for athletes, who have a long tradition of winning “DWTS.” Super Bowl champion Vernon Davis is hoping to become the fifth NFL star to take home the grand prize, following Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, Donald Driver and Rashad Jennings. But coming from such a strong tradition of gridiron dancers can be a double-edged sword because it raises expectations from the very beginning.
Also with high expectations will be Johnny Weir, a figure skater who won three US Nationals titles, medaled once at the World Championships and competed at the Olympics twice. He would be the fourth figure skater to prevail on “DWTS,” following Kristi Yamaguchi, Meryl Davis and Adam Rippon.

Football players have a storied history on “Dancing with the Stars,” and retired NFL athlete Ray Lewis hopes to continue that trend when he competes for the Mirror Ball Trophy in season 28, which begins September 16. But while fellow cast member Sean Spicer has gotten most of the attention (and most of the backlash), Lewis has a checkered past of his own to overcome. So how will he do on the dance floor and with the viewing audience? Let’s consider his pros and cons.

Are you ready for some football? Four NFL stars have won the Mirror Ball Trophy over the years: Emmitt Smith (season 3), Hines Ward (season 12), Donald Driver (season 14) and Rashad Jennings (season 24). And several others have made the finals, including Jerry Rice (season 2), Jason Taylor (season 6), Calvin Johnson Jr. (season 23) and Josh Norman (season 26), to name a few.

“Dancing with the Stars” is returning in the fall and if Peta Murgatroyd had her druthers, so will she.
The two-time champ hasn’t competed since Season 25 in fall 2017, but she tells “Entertainment Tonight” that she’s ready to hit the hardwood again. “I would love to be back,” she says (watch below). “I miss everybody and although it is hard work — it is the toughest job of all time — but I don’t know what it’s gonna take to get me back.
“I mean, I wanna come back,” she continues. “If it’s up to me, yes, probably. If they will have me back!”
It’s hard to see why “Dancing” wouldn’t want her back if she’s willing. Murgatroyd is a popular pro from the old guard and is married to an even more popular/lightning rod pro, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The show is off the air this spring,...

It’s better to give than to receive, and the judges’ very generous donation of a 30 for Bobby Bones‘ freestyle has saved him and “Dancing with the Stars” from further ignominy. Without that 30, he would’ve been the first winner who didn’t receive a perfect score during their run.
A perfect score for Bones and his partner Sharna Burgess was by no means guaranteed. He had never received a higher single score than an 8 and never scored higher than a 24, first achieved in Week 7, and his dancing level, frankly, didn’t really warrant much higher than that. But as the judges are wont to do sometimes, they handed out perfect scores for everyone’s freestyles on Monday’s finale, which is also kind of insulting to Milo Manheim, Evanna Lynch and Alexis Ren; if Bones’ half-soliloquy, half-dance deserved a 30, then their far technically superior routines deserved 40s. Hilariously, this...

Age is just a number, and Milo Manheim might prove that adage true again. The 17-year-old is one of the frontrunners to win “Dancing with the Stars” and would in turn become the show’s youngest male champ ever.
The “Zombies” star, who has the second highest average score this season, would break the record currently held by Jordan Fisher, then 23 when he took home the Mirrorball trophy in Season 25. Fisher had ended the 21-season, 10-and-a-half-year reign of Apolo Anton Ohno, who won Season 4 on his 25th birthday.

“Dancing with the Stars” season 27 begins Monday night, September 24. But even before any of the celebrities have hit the dance floor our users already think they know who will win. Or at least, they’ve narrowed it down.
According to the forecasts of our readers who have entered our predictions contest thus far, R&B singer Tinashe is the front-runner for the Mirror Ball Trophy. She gets leading odds of 17/10, and for good reason. Singers like Mya, Nicole Scherzinger and Normani Kordei have done well on the show. And on top of that Tinashe comes to “DWTS” with lots of prior dance experience. She started training as a dancer when she was four, which will certainly help her judges’ scores. Then again, the judges and the audience might also hold her to a much higher standard given her prior expertise.

Jenna Johnson started at the bottom and now she’s here. In just her second season as a “Dancing with the Stars” pro, Johnson went from worst — being eliminated first — to best, winning the damn thing with Adam Rippon. She is the fourth pro to take the home the Mirrorball trophy after finishing last in his or her previous season.
The “So You Think You Can Dance” alum had an inauspicious “Dancing” pro debut in Season 23 with “Wizards of Waverly Place” star Jake T. Austin, going home the first week. After sitting out the next two installments, she returned on “Athletes” with Rippon, a match made in heaven that led to a victory on Monday’s finale.
Kym Johnson was the first pro to prevail after going home first her previous season. After winning Season 9 with Donny Osmond, she skipped Season 10 and was first out in Season 11 with David Hasselhoff.

Kym Johnson was the first pro to prevail after going home first her previous season. After winning Season 9 with Donny Osmond, she skipped Season 10 and was first out in Season 11 with David Hasselhoff.

“Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” only lasted four weeks, but figure skater Adam Rippon won it in decisive fashion. He became the Mirror Ball Trophy champion on Monday night, May 21 after topping the judges’ leaderboard every single week. In fact, he was the front-runner before he ever set foot in the ballroom. We tipped him to win as soon as the cast was announced in April. But is he the best athlete ever to win “DWTS”? Click through our gallery above of all 26 winners. Then scroll down to vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.
To date 11 sports stars have won “DWTS.” Rippon is the third figure skater, following Olympic gold medalists Kristi Yamaguchi (season 6) and Meryl Davis (season 18). But one sport has accounted for even more Mirror Ball titles. Football has produced four victors: Emmitt Smith (season 3), Hines Ward (season 12), Donald Driver (season 14) and Rashad Jennings...

(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Monday’s finale of “Dancing With the Stars: Athletes”)
The inaugural season of “Dancing With the Stars: Athletes” named its first winner on Monday night following a nail-biting finale.
The final three sports stars left standing on the shortened series were Adam Rippon, Tonya Harding and Josh Norman — with American figure skater Rippon taking the coveted Mirrorball.
The 28-year-old Olympian can now add that to the bronze medal he won at the Pyeongchang Winter Games in January.

“Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” ends tonight just like it began, with Adam Rippon as the front-runner to win the Mirror Ball Trophy. The Olympic figure skater has been the favorite to win this special four-week season of “DWTS” ever since the cast was announced, and he has been the highest-scoring contestant on the judges’ leaderboard every week. Is he truly unbeatable?
Every week our readers enter their predictions for who will stay and who will go on “DWTS,” and as of this writing Rippon gets leading odds of 4/9 based on support from 69% of users who have entered their picks in our predictions center. He’s followed by football player Josh Norman with 4/1 odds and another figure skater, Tonya Harding, with 9/1 odds.

Tonya Harding would probably tell you herself she’s the underdog in the “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” final three. No one, not even she, thought she’d get this far. Our odds have her finishing in third, behind Josh Norman and frontrunner Adam Rippon, which would be a very good and respectable placement for someone many thought would and wanted to get the boot in the first episode. But could she actually go even further and claim the Mirrorball trophy? “Dancing” history shows that, more often than not, the final two tends to be a his-and-her battle.
In the show’s previous 25 seasons, 17 final twos have come down to a female and a male celebrity. The longest streak was eight seasons, from Season 5 through 12. Of these 17, the woman prevailed 10 times. While each season is a very specific case, this data isn’t that shocking; female dancers — whether the pro...

‘Dancing with the Stars: Athletes’ champ might have the fewest perfect scores since the first season
Last season, Jordan Fisher set a record with nine perfect scores en route to winning “Dancing with the Stars.” That was a regular season, giving him ample time to accrue those 10 paddles. With “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes” lasting just four weeks, the judges have yet to give anyone a perfect score. That will likely change on Monday’s final, but we could have the first “Dancing” winner with no perfect score on his or her resume.
All 25 of the show’s previous champs have earned at least one perfect score. Only Kelly Monaco received one. Lest we forget, Monaco won the first season, which lasted six weeks. She didn’t get her 30 until the finale for her freestyle. That scenario might play out again this season, with one person — probably heavy favorite Adam Rippon — getting a 30. The judges tend to be magnanimous when it comes to freestyles and surely...

For the first time “Dancing With the Stars” features an all-athlete cast including Olympic medalists, retired and current professional athletes and even the first collegiate athlete to ever appear on the show. With the competition at an all-time high, which athletes rose to the occasion and which ones failed to make the cut in the season premiere episode on Monday night. We’ve heard what the judges had to say. Below are my rankings from week one of “Dancing With the Stars: Athletes”.
1. Adam Rippon & Jenna Johnson – Cha Cha (Score: 24/30)
Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon is known for his over-the-top, fun personality. That was on full display with his energetic cha cha. I thought the routine was full of cha cha content and entertaining, and it really brought the house down. Adam and Jenna’s chemistry is off the charts, especially for week one. After Monday night I think Adam is the one to beat.

Current NFL cornerback Josh Norman is looking to follow in the footsteps of Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, Donald Driver and Rashad Jennings to become the fifth pro football player to win “Dancing With the Stars.” Known for his competitive drive and in-your-face attitude, Norman is here to win. But will he be able to outperform his fellow season 26 competitors, all of whom are athletes like he is? Let’s consider the pros and cons.
Pros:
When it comes to athletes appearing on “Dancing with the Stars,” football players tend to be the leaders of the pack. Out of the 10 athletes who have won “DWTS,” four were footballers. It’s also worth noting that the majority of football players who have appeared on the show have gotten pretty far in the competition with several making it to the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals in addition to the four who claimed the Mirror Ball Trophy.

Athletes often do well on “DWTS” due to their physical conditioning, so this season may be especially difficult to predict since all of the contestants fit that bill. But not all sports are created equal. History tells us that we should especially watch out for figure skaters and football players.

Peta Murgatroyd open to a Season 27 ‘Dancing with the Stars’ return: ‘It’s definitely a possibility’
Peta Murgatroyd won’t be on “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes,” but unlike her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, she likely hasn’t had her last dance. Asked by the “Akron Beacon Journal” if she’d return for Season 27 in the fall, Murgatroyd said, “It’s definitely a possibility.”
Along with her husband and her brother-in-law Val Chmerkovskiy, Murgatroyd is sitting out the four-week, all-athletes installment because of their “Confidential” tour. Maks said last week that he’d like to transition into judging on “Dancing,” but Murgatroyd can still see herself going for a third Mirrorball trophy.
“I love that show,” she said. “I’ve had such a great seven years. It’s made me what I am today. I love the feel of a competition. I’m a very competitive person and I like to win. It’s a great show because you meet so many incredible people.”

ABC just teased that an NFL player would be among those taking part in the upcoming “Dancing With the Stars” season devoted to athletes. Despite rumors, we can reveal that it won’t be Johnny Manziel. While his name had been among those in the mix, this one-time Cleveland Brown quarterback is in the middle of an NFL comeback.
In 2012, Manziel made history as the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy as the star player on Texas A&M Aggies. Two years later, he was the 22nd pick in the NFL draft and spent two seasons in Cleveland. Released by the team at the end of the 2015 season, he has since returned to school and is now hoping to make it onto the roster of another team.

While female Olympians have struck Mirrorball glory on “Dancing with the Stars,” it’s a different story for the dudes. The most successful male athletes on the show are football players. Shocking, right? (Not.) Of the 10 athletes that have won “Dancing” in its first 25 seasons, six were men and four of those men were pigskin players. So you can probably book a football player or two for the upcoming “Dancing with the Stars: Athletes.” But which of these six champs has your vote?
The first male athlete to win “Dancing” was Dallas Cowboys great Emmitt Smith, who won Season 3 in 2006 with Cheryl Burke over Mario Lopez and Karina Smirnoff, who outscored Smith and Burke during the season. Smith and Burke reteamed for the all-star season and finished fourth.

Expect an “entirely new dynamic” on “Dancing with the Stars” for its upcoming 26th season starting on April 30. The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the series is getting a new showrunner: Andrew Llinares, who produced both the UK and Us versions of “The X Factor,” in addition to “Britain’s Got Talent” and “Pop Idol,” so he knows a thing or two about reality competition shows.
Llinares told THR, “‘Dancing With the Stars’ is one of the largest scale shows on television, and I love that it provides a place for me, as a producer, to have big, ambitious ideas that I can then bring to life. It can be quite the undertaking to come in to a show that has been on the air for 25 seasons, but I’m excited about taking on the challenge and finding new ways to take the show forward.”

Model Nyle Dimarco beat the odds and became the first deaf winner of "Dancing With The Stars" on Tuesday night (May 24).

The model had been a favourite to win the title since the beginning of the season, managing to land high scores despite the fact he is unable to hear the music. He depended on Peta to lead by movement alone, and prior to the season finale, he took to Twitter to praise his dedicated partner.

It's finally here, dance fans! It's the big blowout 10th anniversary celebration of "Dancing with the Stars," as they remind us of some of the wild, crazy, awkward, painful, and stellar moments of the past 20 seasons. There's a lot jam packed into this special, as past contestants and winners return to share in the fun.
During resident-opening-number-choreographer Mandy Moore's exciting first group routine, lots of stars return, hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews fly in on a giant "10," and the four judges, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, and Julianne Hough, make their grand entrance. Lots of cutaways to the audience show many other past stars who have returned but are apparently not dancing tonight, like Sabrina Bryan, who we're reminded of also by last night's shocking elimination. Like Willow last night, Sabrina was a frontrunner in both of her seasons (5 and All-Star season 15), but she was eliminated in week 6 both times.

Following Monday’s shocking elimination of “Dancing With the Stars” fan favorite Willow Shields, viewers could rest easy on Tuesday knowing that no one would be sent home during the 10th anniversary special. Instead, the ABC dance competition celebrated contestants past and present, boasting the biggest opening number in the show’s history with almost 50 cast members, including Amber Riley, Melissa Rycroft, Kurt Warner, Lil Kim, Donald Driver, Amy Purdy and Maria Menounos. With so many former athletes being alums of the show, it was only fitting that a highlight of the hour-long special was a football-inspired paso doble set...

Well how fun was that? There were holograms. There was near-nudity. There were mullets! And, most important of all, there was dancing on Dancing with the Stars' 10th anniversary special. Of course, it was only the best that the show had to offer so there were no duds to make fun of/make us feel better about our own lackluster dancing ability, but a few were still better and/or less weird than others. Thus, without further ado, we present our ranking of all the best and worst performances! 11. The Football dance: Kurt Warner, Jacoby Jones, Michael Irvin, Donald Driver, Hines Ward, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith Could have been epic, but they were all out of sync and also we were giggling at the fact...

Three couples made it to the championships, but only one star could claim victory.
*Warning: Spoilers Ahead
This Dancing With The Stars season 19 championship had everything you could possibly want in a season finale! Big name musical stars, show-stopping dance numbers and a guest dance from (almost) every star that competed this season.
One problem that Dancing With The Stars always faces during their season finale spectaculars is that almost all the viewer votes have already been cast and counted, meaning the episode always feels like two hours of inconsequential musical routines and filler before the contestants' final dances.
Video: Alfonso Ribeiro Finally Does the Carlton on Dancing With The Stars
However, this season was jam-packed with super entertaining performers and riveting dance routines. So when Tommy Chong, Randy Couture, Bethany Mota, Jonathan Bennett and all the other dancers you loved to watch (or loved to hate) redid their most memorable routines, it was simply...
