So who didn’t make the cut? There was a bit of an uproar online on Sunday over the late stars who didn’t end up featured in the 2023 Oscars “In Memoriam” segment.
While this year’s tribute to those stars we’ve lost was moving and emotional — featuring a tearful introduction from John Travolta and a powerful performance of “Calling All Angels” by Lennt Kravitz — glaring omission of some big-name stars shook up some viewers at home.
Anne Heche — who died following a fiery car crash in August at the age of 53 — was not a part of the segment, despite her many film roles.
Also absent from the televised tribute was longtime film veteran Tom Sizemore — who died on Mar. 3, at age 61, two weeks after suffering a brain aneurysm that left him hospitalized.
One of the most surprising omissions was that of Charlbi Dean, who died on Aug. 22 at...

Anthony Lapaglia, Guy Pearce, Kerry Fox, Ryan Corr and Craig Stott are set to star in "Holding the Man," a film adaptation of the acclaimed Australian play which Neil Armfield ("Candy") is helming.
The story covers a fifteen year love affair between two men in late 1970s/1980s Melbourne. The couple deal with disapproval, separation and, ultimately death.
Corr and Stott play the two leads, with the other three and Camilla Ah Kin playing their parents. The lead roles are tricky because the actors have to run the gamut from playing 16-year-old students to men in their thirties.
There also had to be chemistry, and Stott has to lose a lot of weight to portray his later scenes where he's dying. The production will take a seven week break in order for Stott to drop the weight.
Shooting begins in Melbourne next week. The film production follows several successful stagings...

With Skypemare and The Summoners (among many other notable short films) having had their world premieres last night, October 14th, at the 13th annual Screamfest Film Festival, we were there to photograph the black carpet. Step inside to check out our photo gallery.
In addition to Skypemare writer, director and producer John Fitzpatrick, stars Cerina Vincent (Cabin Fever) and Annika Marks attended the premiere, as did co-star Adam J. Yeend, editor James Pickel, producer Sarah Fitzpatrick, co-producer Ryan Dillon, cinematographer Nicholas Kaat and musical artist Jason Italiano (who lent a track to the film).
Revolving around the character of Allison (Vincent), who, home alone on Halloween night while Skyping with her best friend, Jenna (Marks), witnesses something terrifying unfold on both sides of her computer screen, Skypemare received a thunderous audience response (and we'll be exclusively hosting the flick here soon so stay tuned).
