Releasing a brand new music video today (October 11) featuring the talents of Janelle Monáe and Miguel, the two use the haunting song, "Primetime" to tell a classic story.
Directed by Alan Ferguson, “‘PrimeTime’ is a love story based on the early adventures of Cindi Mayweather (Janelle) and her first love Joey Vice (Miguel),” the 27-year-old singer said.
“The Emotion Picture gives a glimpse at Cindi’s humble beginnings as a ‘cyber-server’ at the Electric Sheep nightclub, a syn bar serving high-class ‘show droids’ to the rich and lonely in a dangerous section of Metropolis known as Slop City,” Janelle said.
"Prime Time" also serves as the third official single off of Janelle's second album, The Electric Lady, on sale now in stores and on iTunes.

Oh hey, Beyoncé! The pregnant singer was spotted at a port in the South of France, where she was snapped hopping aboard a luxury yacht with hubby Jay-z, sister Solange and her sibling's boyfriend Alan Ferguson. Taking some much-needed R&R time in between touring for her Mrs. Carter Show, the expectant star looked relaxed and content as she waved to the camera. Sporting tight leather pants, wedge sneakers, retro shades and a Proenza Schouler bag, the soon-to-be mother of two looked effortlessly cool and pregnancy chic as she embarked on her mini-vacay. The hard-working superstar was recently forced to cancel her Belgium concert due to "dehydration...

Jay-z and Beyoncé Knowles took a small boat out to a waiting yacht off the coast of France today. The couple was joined by Beyoncé's sister, Solange, and her boyfriend, Alan Ferguson. Their afternoon getaway comes just ahead of Beyoncé's concert in Montpellier, France, tonight. She'll be back on the stage after a day off following her Saturday performance in Milan. Beyoncé's tour may be keeping her busy, but her personal life is also keeping her in the spotlight. Rumors have been swirling for days about Beyoncé being pregnant with her second child, and both she and Jay-z have commented on the speculation in separate ways. Jay-z reportedly shot down the news, responding "It's not true" to a congratulatory email sent by radio host Ebro. Meanwhile, Beyoncé posted and then removed a cryptic message on her Instagram account over the weekend. The quote said, "I can't stop the rumors from starting,...

5) Bibio “À tout à l’heure”
Directed by Bibio in collaboration with Russell Weekes
Every single Bibio video I’ve seen has been crazy cool and “À tout à l’heure” is no exception. Consisting of nothing but 8mm film footage and psychedelic editing tricks this cool video and chilled out song will make you feel like you’re running through a summer meadow.
4) Dan Deacon “Konono Ripoff No.1″
Directed by Meredith Moore
The Record Store Day single “Konono Ripoff No.1″ finally got a video this week and it’s as jittery and energetic as the song. The video consists of super cool, gif-style portraits of people from Baltimore’s arts community. All holding objects that are of significance to them there is an interactive part to this video, if you download his smartphone app you can synch the objects and control the speed. Cool stuff!

The unrelentingly uncategorizable Janelle Monáe has her sophomore album, The Electric Lady, coming sometime this year. You may have gotten psyched for it when "Q.U.E.E.N." dropped last week, but now the video's here, and you've got a reason to get reallllly psyched. Directed by Alan Ferguson (Solange's boyfriend, director of Beyoncé's "Party"), this is at least five videos worth of brilliance. This is the next thing Kanye needs to crash a stage and defend as one of the best videos of all time. Just ... just watch.

-- With all the star power at the Bet Awards – Kanye West, Jay-z, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce and Samuel L. Jackson, to name a few – the most stirring moment came not from a superstar, but from the mother of one.
Whitney Houston's mother Cissy provided the emotional highlight of Sunday's ceremony as she sang "Bridge Over Troubled Water" in tribute to her late daughter, leaving audience members like Beyonce and Soulja Boy in tears.
Mariah Carey opened the tribute, and her voice wavered as she told stories about Houston. She recalled the last time she saw Houston last year, and how the two laughed and gossiped together.
"I miss my friend," Carey said. "I miss hearing her voice and laughter."
R&B singer Monica was vocally top-notch as she sang "I Love The Lord," a gospel song once sang by Houston; Brandy sang two upbeat Houston hits, "I Wanna Dance...

Yes, Beyonce and Kim Kardashian are friends now as was most evident from their moshing it together at Jay-z and Kanye West‘s Watch The Throne concert in London. All those rumors of beef between the Queen B and Kimmy K, are just that — rumors. We love it when things are simpatico in celebrity-land, especially between couples. And couples which are inclusive of bestest of pals Jay-z and Kanye, that is. It would be a shame if their respective significant others didn’t get along. Swimmingly enough, there was nothing but love between the four at last night’s Bet Awards, in L.A., where they all sat together in the front row. Bey looked pretty delicious in a citrus colored gown, and Kim wore a white dress that looked demure from the front, but then she turned around and bam — sexy, booty-highlighting, backless, unzipped fashion moment. Kanye matched his lady wearing white too.

It was a stormy night, and the detective was hard at work, gazing out the window. He suddenly found himself to be the luckiest heterosexual model-man on the planet, as Beyonce arrived and gyrated seductively at him. If you're a hetero sexual lady detective, however, this is sort of boring. "Dance for You" is the seventh music video to arrive from Queen B's latest album "4" (this track was culled from the deluxe version) and is the seventh of seven to be included on her latest "Live at Roseland" DVD 2-disc collection. It was directed by the singer and Alan Ferguson, who...

Beyonce dropped her candy-coated, trailer park party-themed video for "Party" last night, and while she switched out Andre 3000 for J. Cole, we have to say the cheeky clip didn't disappoint.
Beyonce kicked off her 4 era with the hard, dystopian video for "Run The World (Girls)" but her more recent clips for "Love on Top," "Countdown" and now "Party" have proven more lighthearted and fun. In "party," the colorful couture fashions, the summer BBQ vibe and the celeb cameos (hey there Solange and Kelly Rowland! But, wait, where are you Kanye?) really recall the summery vibe of R&B videos from the '90s. Its' happy! It's sexy! It's cool! … It's crazy, sexy, cool. See what we did there? Shout out to TLC.
While much of Beyonce's Alan Ferguson-directed "Party" video is certainly a big, well, par-tay, the key scene really comes close to the end of the video. What...

This week Rise Against celebrates a No. 2 start of "Endgame" on The Billboard 200, but also remembers with solemnity a fearful part of American history. The music video to "Help Is on the Way" follows the general lyrical thread of the single, featuring a family struggling with the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina over a day during the disaster. "Directed by the esteemed Alan Ferguson, our film crew went to New Orleans and filmed what became a dramatic and compelling narrative of Hurricane Katrina through the eyes of a family. As a band, we opted out of being a part of...

Nelly Furtado brings her pals for a fun night out in a music video for her new single "Night Is Young". The joy begins just after they finished doing a choir performance in a religious-looking setting with Nelly serving as a conductor.
"Night Is Young" is a new material in Nelly's upcoming greatest hits compilation "The Best of Nelly Furtado" which is due November 16 in the United States. Its music video is directed by Alan Ferguson and was filmed in a Downtown Toronto area.
The compilation set itself is released to celebrate 10th anniversary of her music career. She said, "I'm proud of the fact that ('Whoa, Nelly!') came out a full 10 years ago and you can still put it on and it sounds like something that's on the radio now."
