One of my favorite tellings of the Frankenstein saga is Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein. Apparently The Dude Designs’ Tom Hodge is a fan as well because he’s just released a mash-up one-sheet for Victor Frankenstein that has us grinning! Victor… Continue Reading →

The moors of Yorkshire turned red with blood this weekend as the first ever HorrorCon took place at the Magna Science Adventure Centre this weekend in Rotherham.
Guests in attendance – signing autographs and giving talks – included Leatherface himself, Gunnar Hansen (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre); Dacre Stoker (great-grand nephew of Bram Stoker); Ken Foree (Dawn of the Dead); artist Tom Hodge, aka The Dude Designs; Hammer Horror stars Caroline Munro and Martine Beswick; Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) and the legend that is SFX god Tom Savini (The Burning, Night of the Living Dead)
But HorrorCon was not just about the guests – there were plenty of activities taking place over the weekend too. Including the likes of The Pit – a “walk through event” that scared the bejesus out of all those that dare take part; the Cabinet of Curiosity, a display of weird and wonderful delights the was billed as “not...

Craig Goodwill's Patch Town is one seriously strange film - a dystopic musical set in a world where Certain Copyrighted Dolls Popular In the 1980s (tm) have grown up, stopped being cute, and are put to work in the factory as de facto slave labor preparing the next generation. It's a Gilliam inspired stew of oddity and with a June release date in theaters and on digital platforms fast approaching in both the Us and Canada we are pleased to premier a very odd alternate poster - by Tom Hodge - and even odder alternate trailer today.(Los Angeles - May 5, 2015) - Director/producer Craig Goodwill's award-winning debut feature, Patch Town, will be released theatrically and via key digital platforms (iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Google...

Death Waltz Records unleashes its The House of the Devil vinyl at Beyond Fest tonight and we were able to snap off a few shots of the package. It's quite a work of art that would please Satan himself. Keep checking Death Waltz's site and Twitter account to learn when the leftover stock will be available to everyone else. Tom Hodge provided the cover design. Director Ti West, composer Jeff Grace and others whipped up some liner notes.

This! Is a movie poster! Tom Hodge, know as The Dude Designs, has done it again. Already well known for his hand illustrated approach to making movie posters and home entertainment releases, he has helped out Canadian horror comedy Wolfcop with one sweet poster! My gosh, this is too cool. Want. It's not unusual for alcoholic cop Lou Garou to black out and wake up in unfamiliar surroundings, but lately things have taken a strange turn...crime scenes seem oddly familiar, Lou's senses are heightened and when the full moon is out, he's a rage-fueled werewolf.Wolfcop is the premiere feature from Canadian studio Cinecoup and their Film Accelerator program. Director and writer Lowell Dean submitted a two minute trailer and through an arduous voting process was chosen as...

It's a Tom Hodge / The Dude Designs sort of day here on Twitch, apparently. Just an hour ago we posted the trailer for Red Clark's Gray Matter, a short film based on the story by Stephen King also featuring typically stellar poster art from Hodge and now here we are with another Hodge design. This one comes courtesy of Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla - the new feature from El Monstro Del Mar director Stuart Simpson. Soon to premiere as part of Australia's Monster Fest we're told a trailer should follow in the next couple days but in the meantime you can check out a large version of the poster by clicking the image below. Chicago filmmaker and horror enthusiast Red Clark has been labouring on an adaptation of Stephen King's Gray Matter and the results are in. The first teaser trailer has appeared and it looks nothing short of inspired. Made on a shoestring with practical FX and a team of enthusiasts, Gray Matter looks like it could be a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing the whole thing.
The film's poster is also great. Pretty sure that's legendary Larry Fassenden pictured on top. The poster was designed by Tom Hodge of The Dude Designs who has done a lot of those awesome Shout! and Scream Factory re-issues.

Well, not his exact gray matter as that would require some type of macabre shenanigans. What we're talking about here is a new short film based upon the Stephen King yarn Gray Matter starring the always wonderful Larry Fessenden.
The film is an adaptation of the short story from Night Shift and was done using all practical FX (matte paintings, animatronics, puppets). Hallelujah!
Gray Matter will be playing at festivals in the upcoming winter months. Check out the poster by The Dude Designs' Tom Hodge, the first stills, and even the trailer below. Red Clark directs, and Fessenden stars along with Aaron Christensen, Scott Lynch-Giddings, Steve Herson, and Kenneth Martin.
Keep up with creeps over on the Gray Matter Facebook page!

Over the past few years, Zachary Quinto has established his acting rep by playing Sylar in Heroes, a couple of memorable roles on American Horror Story, and, of course, Spock in the last two Star Trek movies. So you could describe his transition into producing as, well, “logical.” Certainly it has gotten off to an encouraging start. Quinto produced director J.C. Chandor’s financial crisis movie Margin Call through the actor’s Before the Door company — the production outfit he runs with partners Corey Moosa and Neal Dodson — and exec produced Chandor’s Robert Redford-starring All Is Lost, which just screened at Cannes.
