Sunday’s telecast of the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards will feature a special In Memoriam segment devoted to many of the actors and actresses who have died since last year’s ceremony in late January. Sure to be among those saluted include actress and director Penny Marshall, Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Burt Reynolds and Grammy winner Aretha Franklin. The 25th annual ceremony will be hosted by past winner Megan Mullally (“Will and Grace”) for TNT and TBS on Sunday, January 27, at 8:00 p.m. Et; 5:00 p.m. Pt. Tom Hanks will be presenting the SAG life achievement award to Alan Alda.

The special “In Memoriam” segment on the 2018 Emmy Awards ceremony will be especially tearful this year. Beloved television legends Steven Bochco, Anthony Bourdain, Robert Guillaume, Monty Hall, John Mahoney, Jim Nabors, Charlotte Rae, Burt Reynolds, Neil Simon and Craig Zadan will certainly be just a few people honored with in a musical tribute.

Let’s take a look back at these TV icons as well as over 50 others who have died since mid-September last year. Many will be included in the memoriam for the live Emmys ceremony hosted by Michael Che and Colin Jost for NBC on September 17.

The friends, family, and fans of DuShon Monique Brown, who played Chief Boden's assistant Connie on the hit TV show Chicago Fire, were hoping to get some closure when her cause of death was finally revealed. Unfortunately, the information released on May 31 has only caused more confusion. TMZ reports that the 49-year-old actress died of sepsis from an unknown origin, so it's still unknown how her blood got infected and lead to her untimely passing, though obesity and high blood pressure also contributed to the condition. The sad news of her passing first broke on March 23. DuShon had sought out medical help recently for chest pains days earlier. Docs released her, but then she went into cardiac arrest in her home. According to the Chicago Tribune, she passed away "a little after 12 p.m. at St. James Olympia Field Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office." A post shared by DuShon M.

“Chicago Fire” actress DuShon Monique Brown, who died in March at age 49, died of a blood infection, the Cook County, Illinois medical examiner’s office told TheWrap on Thursday.

According to the medical examiner, Brown’s immediate cause of death was sepsis, though the origin of the blood infection is unknown.

Hypertensive cardiovascular disease and obesity were also contributing factors in Brown’s death, the medical examiner’s office added.

Say goodbye to Gabby Dawson, “Chicago Fire” fans, as Monica Raymund announced she is officially leaving Dick Wolf’s NBC firefighter drama ahead of Season 7.

“It has been an honor to play Dawson on ‘Chicago Fire’ and one of the most meaningful experiences of my life,” Raymund tweeted on Tuesday. “I am so thankful for the journey and especially to all of you for watching, but I have made the decision that it’s time for me to move on to the next chapter in life.”

Last Thursday’s Season 6 finale had set up a storyline that would allow for Raymund’s exit when Gabby Dawson was asked to join a team of volunteer paramedics headed to help with the damage in Puerto Rico following the devastation inflicted by hurricane season.

As news of the untimely passing of DuShon Monique Brown sank in, the cast of Chicago Fire took to Twitter to express their shock and offer support. Brown died unexpectedly Friday at the age of 49. According to the Chicago Tribune, the beloved Chicago Fire star passed away just after 12 p.m. at St. James Olympia Field Hospital in Chicago.

The cause of death has yet to be revealed, but TMZ reports that DuShon's family called the paramedics because she was feeling ill, and she was subsequently rushed to the hospital.

Update: TMZ is reporting the actress admitted herself to the hospital a few days ago with chest pains.

"The ‘Chicago Fire’ family is devastated to lose one of its own,” said executive producer Dick Wolf.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with DuShon's family and we will all miss her.”

Brown has a appeared in a wealth of TV shows over the years, but she has appeared in NBC's hit drama Chicago Fire since 2012 in the recurring role of Connie, the assistant to Firehouse 51's Chief Boden.
