Scott Henson(II)
- Producer
In 2001, Scott Henson celebrated 20 years of producing effective,
award-winning video and film projects by launching his own company. His
client base remains as varied as ever, working in video, film,
advertising, and documentaries.
The past two years have seen him write and direct a variety of new TV spots for existing client The Headache and Pain Center, which continues to be a success story within itself. Non-profit concerns continue to be a focus as well, and 2002 included promotional videos for Safehome, a domestic abuse shelter, and Wyandotte County Infant-Toddler Services, an organization that assists families of children with birth defects. Corporate projects included the Prism award-winning video for Hallmark Flowers, as they announced their sponsorship of the Winter Olympics to the press; a new employee orientation video for Sprint; two promotional projects for the Kauffman Foundation; a diversity training piece for Saint Luke's-Shawnee Mission Health System; and an internal video for H&R Block, among others.

Training and Employee Orientation have always been a big part of his work. In years passed, he produced multiple-part projects for clients such as DST Systems, Inc., and AMC Theatres. Theatre chains around the world use a 10-part training series for the L.A.-based National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO). The acclaimed series touched on subjects as diverse as customer service and sexual harassment.
Promotional, fund-raising, and marketing video projects have always been a big part of the mix as well, with past work including such clients as Payless ShoeSource, Rockhurst High School, The International Association of Administrative Professionals, and many others.
Henson has also been active in promoting the city as well, having written and directed The Kansas City Convention & Visitors Bureau signature film piece, the Omni-winning "Kansas City: What a Trip!", and co-directed "Emanuel Cleaver's Kansas City" for the KC Economic Development Council.
In 2001, he made his national television documentary debut when he co-produced (for Next World Films) an episode of Inside the Presidency for The History Channel. "Eisenhower vs. Nixon" premiered in January 2001 as a prime-time special. On the local level, he began writing HomeTown Heroes for Time-Warner Cable's Metro Sports, which won Aurora and Telly awards, and even a regional Emmy in 2002.
Scott was Vice-President for Creative Services at Metro Productions, Inc., where he was employed from 1985 -2000. In 2001 he formed his own company, Night Sky Films, Inc.
