James Burton Yockey

James Burton Yockey was born in 1946 to Henry Yockey and Rosemary
Bridgerwater Yockey. He has a brother, William Henry Yockey, and a
sister, Jocelyn Yockey. James fell in love with television at an early
age, and knew it would be his life's work. After a tour of duty in Viet
Nam, James relocated to Memphis, Tennessee where he studied Film and
Television Science at Memphis State University. While attending Memphis
State University, he met and married Linda Bomar. Early in their
marriage the couple moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where James worked
as a cameraman for the local NBC affiliate, WSMV. James also worked for
many years at TNN. Throughout his long and illustrious career he has
worked with a myriad of interesting personalities including Bob Hope,
Dolly Parton, The Judds, Wynonna, Alan Jackson, Emmylou Harris, Nanci
Griffith, Martina McBride, Justin Timberlake, Kelli Pickler, and Carrie
Underwood, just to name a few. James has a special passion for
directing live music.
