Tim Holland is a freelance director and camera operator. Tim has shot, directed, written and edited a number of *award-winning short film productions, some state funded, some not, and he has done substantial documentary-cinematography work for television and independent film. Tim also has extensive experience in teaching film theory and techniques of video production.
From 2003-2006, Tim worked as core lecturer for first-year screen production at Murdoch University, where he also tutored script-writing and screen-production for first and second-year students. From 2006-2012, at Curtin University, he tutored first-year screen production, second-year script-writing and experimental film production, and also documentary/broadcast theory.
From 2010 - 2013, Tim tutored Special Topics, a preparatory unit for Curtin University third-year students considering further study at an Honors or Post-graduate level, in which he was required to supervise the development and progression of students' film production and research in an independent mode.
In 2013, Tim tutored the unit COMM 2002 Digital Screens at UWA, which involved students producing you tube-format instructional videos on screen production techniques Since 2008, Tim has occupied the role of unit coordinator for the core foundation screen production unit at Curtin College, for which he also lectures and tutors. "As a video producer and teacher I have maintained a keen focus on the evolution of media practice, the influences of digital technologies on the creative industries, and the opportunities it affords filmmakers."
