Magnus Martens’ (Jackpot) under-the-radar action-thriller Sas: Red Notice has wrapped production in London, Paris and Budapest with cast including Ruby Rose, Andy Serkis, Tom Wilkinson and Sam Heughan. Here’s a first look at Rose and Heughan (Outlander).
Based on the book by former UK soldier turned popular author Andy McNab, Heughan (Outlander) plays Tom Buckingham, the lead character in all three books. In Sas: Red Notice, Buckingham’s marriage plans are upended by the hijacking of a train and a plan to blow up the Channel Tunnel. Rose (Batwoman) plays Grace, the scion of a private military company. Serkis (Black Panther) portrays Clements, a liaison officer for the Prime Minister, while Wilkinson (Michael Clayton) is Lewis, the patriarch of a private military company.

For a brief moment, it seemed that Sony Pictures’ plans for Venom and their incoming Spidey spinoff cinematic universe were dead in the water. Critics absolutely savaged the pic, leaving it with a conclusively Rotten 29% on the Tomatometer. But audiences turned up and just kept coming, resulting in the film crushing the competition with an $80M opening weekend, a $200M domestic haul and $545M at the global box office. And that number is set to grow even more if these figures from China are correct.
Over in the Middle Kingdom, the film raked in $34.2M on its opening day of release, eclipsing the previous solo superhero movie record-holder Spider-Man: Homecoming. Box office wonks are predicting that it could round out its global theatrical run with a $750M payout, and considering it was made on a relatively slender $100M, that’s not bad. Especially considering that this is a movie that...

We are, at the time of writing, little over six weeks out from the theatrical release of Venom, Sony and Ruben Fleischer’s standalone comic book film that looks set to take Spider-Man out of the equation and place the focus squarely on his sworn enemy.
That’s the approach to Sony’s entire Marvel Universe, which will soon feature numerous spinoffs about some of Peter Parker’s greatest foes – think Silk, Nightwatch, Morbius, Jackpot and Kraven the Hunter. Of course, that’s assuming everything goes according to plan, as without a solid box office performance from Venom, the Sumc will be dead on arrival.
But in the interest of remaining positive, today we draw your attention not to Spider-Man or Peter Parker, but to one of his greatest enemies – Eddie Brock/Venom. Both characters will be brought to life by Tom Hardy, and the latest issue of Total Film...

Pope is on a suicide mission.
There was a possibility that Pope had every intention of doing in Smurf, but by the end of Animal Kingdom Season 3 Episode 12 there was a strong indication that the suicide kit he bought was for himself.
It's a lot less messy than a gun.
Pope only wanted the best for Lena, and when he couldn't be the one to provide it for her, he did what he thought would be in her best interests. He knew what it was like being raised by Smurf and knew that it was the worst thing that could happen to his niece.
It didn't matter that he'd be an integral part of Lena's life again. He didn't want Lena to be as messed up as the rest of them under Smurf's manipulative, watchful eye.
