ABC has set its summer schedule, which includes the first season of “The Bachelorette” without longtime host Chris Harrison, the long-awaited comeback of Covid-delayed “Bachelor in Paradise” and the premieres of three new series and several staples.
Katie Thurston’s season of “The Bachelorette” will premiere Monday, June 7. As previously announced, Harrison, the face of the “Bachelor” franchise, will take the upcoming season off after temporarily stepping away from the series earlier this year. Former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will step in as co-hosts for Season 17.
ABC is bringing more romance later in the summer with the premiere of “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 7. No word yet on who is hosting this season of the show, which has been off the air for two years due to the pandemic.
Among the other ABC series returning this summer are freshman competition shows “The Chase” and “The Hustler” (both now formally...

ABC is reviving “The Dating Game” with a new celebrity twist and Zooey Deschanel and Michael Bolton at the helm, the network announced Thursday.
“The Celebrity Dating Game” has been picked up for eight one-hour episodes at the network, and is described as a “wry wink at modern dating with a star-studded roster of celebrity singles in their pursuit to find love.”
The new show will flip the format of the original 1960s series hosted by Jim Lange. Rather than having one contestant question three hidden suitors, the three suitors will be visible to the audience throughout the episode, and the identity of the celebrity they are attempting to woo will remain concealed until the end of the hour. Per ABC, “suitors will have the opportunity to guess the secret identity based on clues, questions and special parody performances by host Michael Bolton.”
“The Celebrity Dating Game” is produced by Sony Pictures Television.

How are we supposed to live without Michael Bolton and Zooey Deschanel? Turns out we won’t have to. Bolton and Deschanel have signed on to host “The Celebrity Dating Game,” a new take on the format that has been picked up by ABC for eight one-hour episodes.
You read that right. Bolton. Deschanel. Celebrities. “Dating Game.” As Bolton might croon, TV is Back on Its Feet Again. Produced by Sony Pictures TV, the original “Dating Game” ran on ABC from 1965 to 1973, and has inspired several updates since then (the most recent being a syndicated revival in the late 1990s).

Talk about hitting a bad note. Former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi is on the receiving end of a civil suit filed by a man who claims he suffered serious neck injury when a BMW driven by another woman smashed into the back of his Porsche last May in Los Angeles. But here's where it gets interesting. Kara wasn't behind the wheel nor was she even there when it happened! Per documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by E! News, the plaintiff, identified as Joel Postorino, claims Christina Kline was behind the wheel of the BMW that crashed into him and caused the slipped disc in his neck. However, the complaint also cites DioGuardi as a defendant because she's...

The songwriter's ex-employee, Christina Kline, was in an accident last year (10) in Los Angeles while driving a BMW which is co-registered to Kara DioGuardi. Kline was reportedly instructed to remove DioGuardi's name from the registration when she left her employment in 2009, but failed to do so, according to the star's representative.
DioGuardi has now been served legal papers by Joel Postorino, who claims he was injured in the crash and is now seeking approximately $250,000 (£156,250) in damages, according to TMZ.com.
The musician's rep says, "When Ms. Kline left Kara's company in November 2009, she was asked to remove Kara's name from the registration, but never did. She was in a car accident in May 2010 that Kara did not know about until... she was served papers."
The case is due to go to court in July (11).

Former " American Idol " judge Kara DioGuardi has been sued over a 2010 car accident that allegedly left one man with a terrible neck injury ... but the crazy part, Kara wasn't even driving the car!!! The man doing the suing is Joel Postorino -- who claims he suffered a serious disc injury in his neck after a woman driving a 2005 BMW smashed into the back of his Porsche at an L.A. intersection last May. Kara DioGuardi has been sued over a car accident. Joel Postorino, who claims that he suffered a serious neck injury after colliding with a woman driving a 2005 BMW last year, has decided to take the former American Idol to court despite the fact that she was not the driver in the incident. According to TMZ, the driver was DioGuardi's former employee Christina Kline, but as DioGuardi is the registered co-owner of the BMW, Postorino has "served" her papers. The star's spokesperson said: "When Ms Kline left Kara's company in November 2009, she was asked to remove Kara's (more)...

Tim Urban -- that fey little Sanjaya elf with the pecs of steel, the Cheshire teeth, and the voice of John Rzeznik, if Rzeznik had a hole in his throat -- was finally booted from "American Idol" last night, which I know primarily because Dan (who is covering "American Idol" for the Houston Press) seemed to lose his shit with excitement over Urban's ouster. Now, Urban can take that shitty little million dollar smile of his and use it to upsell car-wash packages back in his hometown of Duncanville, Texas.
But this news isn't about Tim Urban, it's about Kara DioGuardi, the rambling "American Idol" judge who is under the woeful misconception that people actually give a shit about what she says when in fact many have actually programmed their DVRs to automatically fast forward when she speaks. And the news is this: Kara DioGuardi came up with a script...
