Trina Calderón attended Cal State Northridge's film school to study film production and photography, and found work in the college art galleries. Chasing her interests, Calderón grew into a multimedia producer and has worked in comedy/variety TV and with many incredible visual artists producing art documentaries and writing articles, essays, books, and museum and gallery exhibits.
A Project: Involve Screenwriting Fellow, she co-wrote the indie cult film, Down For Life, was the Co-Executive Producer of BBCAmerica's The Nerdist TV show, and wrote the ground-breaking art exhibit, Pump Me Up: DC Subcultures of the 1980's, at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Her many essays on the innovators of American graffiti from the late 1960's to the early 1970's are published in the book, Wall Writers: Graffiti in its Innocence, a large cultural history project which includes a documentary she helped produce. Passionate about the potential of storytelling to decolonize media, she loves collaborating on projects that help people think about their life.
