Sage Stallone's cause of death has been the subject of scrutiny and investigation since he was found dead in his home on July 13, but now TMZ has obtained the L.A. County Coroner's report which states the 36-year-old actor died from a heart attack.
Coroner Chief Craig Harvey told the Los Angeles Times that Stallone died of natural causes and the toxicology test came back "negative except for a sub-therapeutic level of hydrocodone," -- though the drug played no role in his death.
According to Harvey, Sage was a heavy smoker and the habit likely helped contribute to his death, as smoking is one of the chief causes of heart disease due to elevated blood pressure, increasing the risk of clots.
In the days following his death, it had been reported that Stallone likely died of a drug overdose, with TMZ reporting that the actor and producer lived like...

The material captures the British director crouching moments before he jumped an estimated 185ft to his death on Sunday. The show business website TMZ said it had seen – but not purchased – some of the footage.
Some witnesses said they assumed at first it was an extreme sports stunt, not a suicide. A surveillance camera from a nearby business also recorded the jump.

Los Angeles (AP) -- Whitney Houston was a chronic cocaine user who had the drug in her system when she drowned in a hotel bathtub, coroner's officials said Thursday after releasing autopsy findings that also noted heart disease contributed to her death. The disclosure ended weeks of speculation about what killed the Grammy-winning singer on Feb. 11 on the eve of the Grammy Awards. Houston was found submerged in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and her death was ruled accidental. Several bottles of prescription medications were found in her hotel room, but coroner's officials said there weren't excessive quantities. "We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure,'' Patricia Houston, the singer's sister-in-law and manager, wrote in a statement to The Associated Press. Beverly Hills police said in a statement there was no evidence of wrongdoing in connection with Houston's death.

Los Angeles — The Los Angeles coroner's office says Jamaican-born rapper Heavy D died of natural causes.
The self-proclaimed "overweight lover" of hip hop, who became one of rap's top hit makers with a combination of humor and positivity, collapsed outside his Beverly Hills home on Nov. 8. The 44 year-old rapper, whose real name was Dwight Errington, died later at a hospital.

Does Lindsay Lohan's community service mean she'll have to be in contact with dead bodies at the morgue? —O.A., via the inbox You speak of Lohan's yet-to-be-completed work at the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner, a three-building complex that encompasses thousands of square feet and countless corpses. It's been reported that the Los Angeles County coroner has ruled Jeff Conway's death accidental and caused by major internal infection.
The 60-year old star of TV series 'Taxi' and 'Babylon 5' and the movie 'Grease,' died back in May after he was hospitalized with pneumonia and sepsis.
Although Conaway had struggled with chronic substance abuse for years, Los Angeles County coroner Craig Harvey told the AP that coroners did not conduct a toxicology test -- Conaway had been hospitalized for weeks prior to his death, so his blood would have come back clean.

Actor Jeff Conaway's death was accidental, the Los Angeles County coroner has ruled.
The former "Grease" and "Taxi" star died May 27 at age 60. An autopsy report on Conaway determined the cause of death was a major internal infection, the AP reports. Toxicology tests weren't performed because Conaway had been in the hospital for more than two weeks when he did.
Coroner Craig Harvey did note, though, that Conaway did have drugs in his system when he entered the hospital on May 10.
Conaway had struggled with addiction and chronic pain for years and had appeared on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" in 2008.

Los Angeles — An autopsy has ruled that "Taxi" and "Grease" star actor Jeff Conaway's May 27 death was accidental and caused by major internal infection.
Los Angeles County coroner Craig Harvey says coroners did not conduct a toxicology test because Conaway had been hospitalized for weeks prior to his death, so his blood would have come back clean.
However, Harvey says when Conaway entered the hospital May 10, opiates and other drugs were in his system.
Conaway struggled publicly with his addictions on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."
Conaway, who had repeated back surgeries for an injury, blamed his drug abuse, in part, on his lingering back problem.
Conaway was known for playing vain, struggling actor Bobby Wheeler on "Taxi" and Kenicke, the swaggering best friend of John Travolta in "Grease."...
