Fulwell 73, the fast-rising U.K. and Los Angeles banner behind The Late Late Show with James Corden and Hulu’s recent series The Kardashians, as well as the current producer of the Grammy Awards, has hired creative duo Rachel Arnold and Jon Green to lead its U.K. formats as creative directors.
The pair who previously co-founded production company Definitely and headed up Rdf Media’s creative team have worked on shows including Love Island, Junior Doctors and Let’s Dance for Comic Relief. “Rachel and Jon are key appointments as Fulwell 73 enters a new era of expansion,” said Leo Pearlman, Fulwell co-founder and managing partner. “Their creative partnership is an unrivaled powerhouse in the industry.

Npact, the trade body that represents non-scripted producers, has eschewed its annual network-ranking survey this year, instead asking producers to name the best partner during the Covid-19 crisis.
Bravo, Discovery, HBO Max and Netflix have come out on top, according to the group.
Last year, HBO ranked as the favorite network to deal with – from pitch to series pick-up with Netflix named the “most respected” and most improved over 2019.
However, this year, the trade body decided to skip the broader survey and ask which buyer had been the best partner during global pandemic.
These networks, the group said, played a critical role in helping producers of unscripted stay solvent, keeping thousands of people safely employed, and audiences entertained.
The NBCU cable network, factual giant and two streamers emerged top of the list of 32 network partners that helped weather the storm.

Exclusive: Spotify has struck a podcast deal with Audity, the audio division of Steve Michaels’ Asylum Entertainment Group. This comes as the nascent company hires former Legendary Digital Networks exec Frank Hajdu to oversee its audio slate.
The deal will see Audity, which launched last year, produces podcasts across all scripted and unscripted genres for the subscription service. It is Spotify’s latest move to ramp up its podcast arm, following its acquisition of Gimlet Media, and deals with the likes of Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions.
Hajdu, who becomes Executive Vice President of Audity, will be responsible for building the company’s content slate, business operations, and partnerships, while also working Asylum’s video producers to turn certain audio IP into television series and films.
Hajdu (left) was previously Executive Vice President of Operations for Legendary Digital Networks where he oversaw The Nerdist Podcast Network (Npn...

Exclusive: Steve Michaels’ Asylum Entertainment Group is launching an audio company to take advantage of the booming medium.
The group is launching Audity, an “audio-forward” business that will develop podcasts across genres including variety, music, sports, crime, lifestyle, and scripted.
Audity is the third company to sit under the Aeg banner following the launch of drama label Clovis Entertainment and The Content Group.
The company will partner with celebrities, influencers, and storytellers to bring projects to the audio universe and will focus on equitable financial partnerships that allow creators to take advantage of Aeg’s back-end operations.
In addition to its initial slate that will be cross genre, Audity will also target film and television adaptation, touring and experiential events and educational and cultural content.
Michaels told Deadline, “We’re not just a TV company that’s going to set up a microphone and produce podcasts and just throw them up,...

Steve Michaels has formed new parent company Asylum Entertainment Group, under whose banner his The Content Group will now sit. Michaels has named longtime colleague and Content Group president Ryann Lauckner to an elevated role as president and chief strategy officer of Asylum Entertainment Group. Veteran producer Jodi Flynn has been tapped to succeed Lauckner as president of The Content Group. Flynn and Lauckner each report to Michaels.
Here is some background. Michaels in 2003 launched production company Asylum Entertainment, which he sold to Legendary in 2014. Last year, he bought back Asylum and launched a new company, The Content Group, using the Asylum slate, staff and infrastructure as a backbone, including naming former Asylum executive Lauckner as Content Group president.
The Content Group was established as a creative collective rooted in non-exclusive partnership deals with producers, filmmakers and talent across all areas of entertainment content. Both The Content Group and Asylum...

Steve Michaels, whose production company Asylum Entertainment was sold to Legendary in early 2014, has bought the company back and is its sole owner, I have learned. No financial terms are being disclosed but I hear that the purchase price was lower than the more than $100 million Legendary reportedly paid for Asylum as the marketplace has changed dramatically in the past several years and Asylum, bought by Legendary’s previous regime, does not fit into the company’s new strategy.
Michaels has launched a new company, The Content Group, using the Asylum slate, staff and infrastructure as a backbone. Michaels will serve as CEO, and has named longtime associate and former Asylum executive Ryann Lauckner as president. Michaels’ longtime partner in Asylum, Jonathan Koch, will serve as chief strategic advisor as the seasoned executive continues to recover from a life-threatening illness and hand transplant.

Legendary’s Asylum Entertainment is expanding its executive team, citing an uptick in internal production and demands of the marketplace. CEO Steve Michaels and President Jonathan Koch credited much of the momentum to Ryann Lauckner, who has been promoted to Evp of the company. Lauckner quickly rose through the ranks after joining Asylum in 2010. "It's a great feeling to promote from within, especially with a talent like Ryann, whose track record and work ethic are second…...
