All eyes were on Judi Dench.
The legendary actress was seated stage right, performing one of Stephen Sondheim’s greatest hits. The sound of her voice, accompanied by a 25-piece orchestra led by Alfonso Casado Trigo, held a hushed audience in awe.
There was spontaneous applause. The great dame was led off stage. She reappeared moments later to perform the number again.
“Goosebumps,” said Cameron Mackintosh, echoing the thoughts of those lucky enough to be gathered in the stalls of London’s Stephen Sondheim Theatre for several hours Monday, for a long day and night of technical technical rehearsal for Tuesday night’s celebration of Sondheim, a giant of theatre, who died last November at age 91.
Tuesday’s one-night-only show is called Old Friends, named after a number in the composer’s 1981 musical comedy Merrily We Roll Along. Mackintosh has been putting Old Friends together with Matthew Bourne and Maria Friedman staging,...

Castle: 4.15 "Pandora" Review
I admit I started watching this episode with my foot out the door. Although the promos and sneak peeks had made it all seem so very exciting, I was still burned from last season’s two-parter, in which half of the fandom felt completely cheated by the Josh fiasco, myself included. So I tried to approach this episode with the same mentality as I did last week with “The Blue Butterfly” and tried as hard as I could to keep my expectations to a minimum. After all, I think we have all learned the hard way that it is better to pleasantly surprised than sorely disappointed, especially when it comes to Castle, right?
Well, I was worried for nothing. Maybe it was the fact that I went in with no expectations at all, but “Pandora” was good, guys. It was really, really good. I will even...

Well, I have to say that the upcoming Castle episode, "Eye of the Beholder" is sounding more and more deliciously infuriating. As you all probably already know, next week Castle and Beckett will be investigating a murder linked to a very valuable sculpture. Kristin Lehman (The Killing) guest stars as Serena Kaye, a a smart, sexy insurance investigator who offers her services in order to help them with the case. The problem is she also sets her eye on Castle, which will just drive Detective Kate Beckett up the wall in jealousy.
As you can see in the clips below, Castle will be a little taken with Kaye and Kate will most likely be killing the blonde in her mind several times over the course of the episode. Personally, I just hope this insurance investigator turns out to be the murderer or something equally twisted, just to punish Castle. The...

The fourth season of ABC's hit show Castle has not even started yet and fans are already crying foul about recent spoilers. A couple of weeks ago a piece of information regarding episode 5 was released by the press and the Caskett shippers worldwide went berserk about it. A female art insurance investigator was being cast and she would have this instant spark with Castle. This new character - supposedly a recurring one, which is not certain yet - was immediately labeled as a new love interest for Rick Castle.
I admit my first reaction was what. the. hell. The last we've seen of Castle he was telling Kate desperately that he loved her and five episodes later he has a new love interest? Seriously, Tptb? Seriously? But then I started thinking about it - after getting over the initial shock - and you know what, this might actually be a good thing.

Question: Got any Grey’s Anatomy scoop? — Val
Ausiello: As a matter of fact, now that production on Season 8 is just about to get underway (on Friday, to be specific), every day seems to bring a new tidbit. Today’s: The show is casting a new intern, and not one of those know-it-all can-do types, either. The rookie — male, by the way, and presumably hot — seems right from the start to be in over his pretty head.

Looks like guest starring on the Castle two-parter is a good luck charm. Last year, Dana Delaney played FBI Agent Jordan Shaw on the season 2 combo episode and a couple of weeks later, she had scored a new gig as the lead of ABC's new drama Body of Proof - which premieres next Tuesday (March 29th) at 10pm.
This season, the lucky guy was former Heroes star, Adrian Pasdar. He guest starred as Homeland Security Agent Mark Fallon on Castle's season 3 two-parter "Setup" and "Countdown" and sure enough, just a few weeks later he has been cast as the lead of a new NBC comedy.
Pasdar and Sarah Paulson will play the leads of this workplace comedy and the pilot - still untitled - is penned by The New Adventures of Old Christine's creator, Kari Lizer. The plot tells the story of Mary Leahy (Paulson), a woman who...

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but ABC’s Castle is bringing on a familiar face to help the NYPD get to the bottom of a case a bit bigger than they’re used to tackling. But whereas a year ago it was Dana Delany playing a prickly G-Woman, this Monday at 10/9c, you get Adrian Pasdar as a hardcore Homeland Security honcho. And whereas Delany’s FBI Agent Jordan Shaw was enlisted to track a serial killer picking off innocents one-by-one, Pasdar’s Agent Mark Fallon is on hand to stop someone from killing a whole lotta people at once.

Castle (Nathan Fillion) watched an explosion destroy Detective Beckett's apartment in last week's Castle cliff-hanger, but could that disaster further kindle the flames between Castle and his crime-fighting muse?
Castle: Can Beckett survive a serial killer and an FBI nemesis?
That's assuming, creator and executive producer Andrew W. Marlowe coyly tells TVGuide.com, that Beckett (Stana Katic) is still alive. Marlowe hints that the conclusion to the two-part event puts Special Agent Jordan Shaw (guest star Dana Delany) in her own share of trouble.
"Everyone has to redouble their efforts in order to make sure everyone stays alive," Marlowe says. "The case certainly does take a turn, and there are complications. Jordan Shaw is in the thick of it and by virtue of redoubling her effort to go after the serial killer, she becomes a target herself."
As for Beckett.

This is a busy time in the professional life of Dana Delany.
The actress likely exited Wisteria Lane on Sunday night, as Katherine skipped off to Paris with Julie Benz's Robin. If her ABC pilot gets picked up, that will be the last Desperate Housewives' viewers see of the character.
"If the pilot gets picked up, that’d be great," the actress told Fancast.com "If it doesn’t, hopefully I’ll be invited to “come back” from Paris... That’s the great thing about Marc Cherry and television; you can do things at the last minute."
Last night, as seen above, Delany made the first of two guest appearances on an explosive episode of Castle.
Regarding her character of Jordan Shaw, Dana said: "She’s there as an example to show Beckett that you actually can have it all. You can be a kick-ass agent, and you...

Castle has a lot to live up to after the way ABC has been promoting the two-part "event" that finds Beckett, Castle, and Federal Agent Jordan Shaw (guest star Dana Delany) chasing a serial killer who's obsessed with Nikki Heat. Last night, Part 1 did. Just as Castle got word that Heat Wave had been optioned for a film — James McAvoy would make a great Kevin Ryan — Beckett got a phone call from a man reporting a murder. One that he'd committed. They traced the call to Grand Central Station, where they found a dead man in a phone booth. Five shots to the chest.

Tonight's episode of 'Castle' was the first of a two-parter, and some pretty big stuff happened. If you haven't seen it yet, I'll wait til after the jump to talk about the major spoilers.
One thing I can talk about before the jump is Dana Delany. It was really awesome to see her in a meatier role than her 'Desperate Housewives' character. Ever since 'China Beach,' I've been waiting for her to get a really good role and hopefully, her new ABC pilot 'Body of Evidence' will be just that.
I know she's had plenty of roles since 'China,' but nothing that's equaled it in my mind. What can I say? I live in the past. She also played Magnum's girlfriend, so there.

TV viewers will be ABCing more of Dana Delany than ever in March. (We're really sorry.)
The Desperate Housewives star will appear on back-to-back episodes of Castle this spring, as ABC looks to increase that show's exposure.
Delany (seen below as Katherine Mayfair) will play Federal Agent Jordan Shaw on the Nathan Fillion-led drama. She'll first appear on a special Sunday night episode that follows Desperate Housewives, as Brothers & Sisters will take March 21 off.
The Emmy winner’s second Castle installment will take place the very next night, as the show returns to its regular Monday-at-10 timeslot on March 22.

Hmm, Dana Delany's character, Katherine Mayfair, on "Desperate Housewives" has been sent to the loony bin. Could that have created the opportunity for the actress to show up on "Castle"?
ABC has confirmed to Zap2it that Delany will appear in two episodes of its police dramedy "Castle." Apparently, she will be play a Federal agent named Jordan Shaw.
Entertainment Weekly has suggested that the appearance is a ratings grabber for the series when it appears on Sunday, March 21 at 10pm after "Desperate Housewives" when "Brothers & Sisters" takes a week off.
What nuttiness will Agent Jordan Shaw bring to "Castle"? You tell us.
