Biography

    • Michael Stone is a filmmaker and comedian who was based in Milan, Italy for 7 years before moving to Southern California in 2012.

Born in Wilmette, IL, in 1981, Michael took an interest in film/video production at a young age, directing and starring in his own short-subject films and holding a leadership role in his high school's filmmaking club.

At the University of Illinois, Michael, together with Andrew McAllister, founded the Illini Film & Video Club which promotes student film productions and collaborated with Roger Ebert's Overlooked Film Festival.

Michael appeared in Italian television commercials and TV-series and produced/directed his own web video projects, including a web-series called Milano Rocks. He is fluent in Italian.

Michael also founded the international social expat organization, AMERiCANiTES, which has the goal of promoting American cultural events abroad, bringing people together, and bringing an international perspective to Americans at home.

In 2012, Michael relocated to San Diego, California, where he founded the San Diego Actors & Filmmakers meetup group and Facebook community.

In 2017, Michael relocated to Santa Monica, California, where he remains very active in the WestSide Comedy Theater community. He has produced/directed several short films for the 48 Hour Film Project (in San Diego and LA), multiple of which have won audience-choice awards and received nominations for awards in various categories.
