Solo Levelingwas one of the most highly anticipated titles found in the Winter 2024 season, and that was with anime like Mashle: Magic and Muscles to compete with. Upon release, many fans saw it as one of the best new anime of the season, if not the entire year. Of course, this popularity blend into the source material and had many seeking out anime and manga similar to Solo Leveling.
The Solo Leveling anime is a fantasy action/adventure story starring Sung Jinwoo, a likable young man who's at the bottom of the heap in his industry. In Jinwoo's world, fantasy monsters emerge from portals all over the place, and it's up to hunters like Jinwoo to use magic and weapons to fight back. That makes Solo Leveling a "monster hunter" anime with some light isekai and Jrpg elements to it, so the anime may remind fans of many other, similar titles.

There's almost too much anime out there. It's a great problem to have for an anime-lover, as there's no shortage of series in any genre for fans to watch. If there is a downside to the incredible amount of animation out there, it's that some shows fly under the radar for way too long. While series like Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Attack on Titan get an incredible amount of views thanks to their quality and popularity, there are a ton of underrated anime series that deserve a lot more attention than they get.
While most series don't stack up to the three mentioned above, they're still excellent in what they try to achieve. It doesn't matter if they're a romance series, shōnen, or something a little edgier - some series just didn't get the views that they probably could have.

Isekai is one of the most in-demand and heavily populated anime genres of all time. The genre has given everything to the audience, from turning its protagonists into literal vending machines to reincarnating them as a sword or a spider. No matter how wacky the premise may be, isekai anime somehow manages to become the highlight of every season. Besides turning characters into unconventional beings and objects, one of the most popular trends in the genre is the existence of an overpowered main character.
Protagonists with almost non-existent lives and goals in their real world often get transported or reincarnated into a fantasy world where they are the strongest, which is an obvious yet very much loved isekai cliché. MCs who are incredibly strong either change the fate of that said world or become so bored with their superiority that they decide to descend into a quiet life. From being...

After the massive critical and commercial success of “A Silent Voice” (2016), it seemed like director Naoko Yamada could do no wrong and was poised for huge things. It may have been strange for some then that her next directorial project would be tied to the “Sound! Euphonium” anime series, which Yamada had previously worked on as series unit director under Tatsuya Ishihara. It could almost be seen as a regression, as Yamada's first two features, “K-on! The Movie” (2011) and “Tamako Love Story” (2014), were also based on pre-existing anime series. Yet whether a fan of “Sound! Euphonium” or not, “Liz and the Blue Bird” (2018) is a constant delight and could well be Yamada's masterpiece.
