Ginnifer Goodwin would 'absolutely' do a Once Upon a Time reboot (but we have one condition)
Image
The fairest of them all has spoken! Ginnifer Goodwin who played the beloved Snow White on ABC series Once Upon a Time attended the 2025 Disney Upfronts recently, and was asked about whether she'd be interested in reprising her role for a reboot of the magical series. And she's definitely on board! Here's what she had to say to The Hollywood Reporter:

"My whole real life is because of Once Upon a Time. It was one of the jobs of my life and I met my husband and I had my children because of that. And Snow White's very close to my heart. I think I'm here because of that show. But I would kill to go back, to revisit that. Absolutely."

Walton Goggins Isn’t the Only One: Marvel Spectacularly Wasted 5 ‘Real Actors’ That I Can’t Forgive
Image
After The White Lotus Season 3, every Marvel fan would be thinking the same thing: Why did MCU waste Walton Goggins in such a minor role? Goggins played the secondary antagonist, Sonny Burch, a low-level criminal in Ant-Man and the Wasp. While the second Ant-Man film is not so bad, Goggins’ Sonny was one of the forgettable parts of the movie.

The actor’s portfolio spoke volumes about his acting range, but Marvel just used him as a villain to run the subplot. He wasn’t a menacing villain but one who always became the butt of the joke. His plan to steal and sell Pym’s technology on the black market only posed a minor inconvenience for the heroes in the film.

‘Magazine Dreams’ Movie Ending Explained & Summary: What Happens To Killian?
Image
The 2023 drama film Magazine Dreams is finally set to release on video-on-demand after a delay of almost 18 months following its completion, and its visual splendor, as well as its grim tone, make for an intense watch. The plot follows the life of a socially awkward man, Killian Maddox, who struggles to cope with his overbearing loneliness and his borderline unhealthy obsession with becoming a professional bodybuilder. Magazine Dreams is specifically driven by the strong performance of Jonathan Majors, as it makes us anticipate the absolute worst, Killian committing some crime out of his rage, which is quite ironic as well, since Majors himself had been convicted of reckless assault in 2023.

Spoiler Alert

What is the film about?

Magazine Dreams begins with a softly lit scene of a bodybuilder flexing his muscles on stage as part of some competition, and the glow around his body suggests that he has succeeded in...

'The Running Man' Wraps Filming with BTS Image from Glen Powell
Image
News broke nearly a year ago (April 2024) that Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone but You star Glen Powell was cast to play the lead role of Ben Richards in the upcoming reimagining of 1987’s The Running Man. Powell will fill the iconic running shoes of the original film’s protagonist, Richards, who was first portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and fans don’t have much longer to wait and see Powell’s take on the Stephen King character. Powell revealed on social media that filming had officially wrapped, and he shared an image of himself and director Edgar Wright to celebrate the occasion. Powell wrote in his Instagram post:

"That’s a picture wrap on 'The Running Man.' All my love and appreciation goes out to our incredible cast and crew who have worked tirelessly on it. Can’t wait for the rest of y'all to see what we’ve been shooting…...

Jonathan Majors Opens Up About the Rage of 'Magazine Dreams'
Image
Magazine Dreams is the kind of film that people preface with a paragraph. Suffice it to say, it was filmed a few years ago and is only now coming to theaters after two complicated years in which its star, Jonathan Majors, underwent a PR crisis in full view of the gossiping public. Whatever you say about that situation, it has undoubtedly become clear that the Yale graduate has given one of the rare great performances of all time in the new dramatic thriller. He plays a deeply unbalanced man with a tragic life and a desperate pursuit to become a famous bodybuilder, dreams which we watch fade away as his life is swept up in anger, mental illness, and violence. MovieWeb spoke with Majors leading up to the release of his new film, which is now in theaters, and asked what it was like to discuss it after everything that's happened to him.

Magazine Dreams Review: When the Pursuit of Perfection Turns Painful
Image
In the opening act of Magazine Dreams, the film exposes the inner workings of a troubled soul. The narrative presents a bodybuilder whose ambition is burdened by personal demons, each moment reverberating with a sense of isolation and internal strife. His physical prowess masks a quiet conflict—a battle against an elusive sense of worth that leaves him both powerful and profoundly vulnerable.

Elijah Bynum, the filmmaker behind this work, brings a fierce intensity to the screen. His past endeavors hinted at the potential for profound emotional inquiry, yet here he transforms raw human suffering into a portrait of existential unease. Bynum crafts scenes that capture the fragility behind a hardened exterior, turning personal torment into a study of human frailty.

Set against the sun-scorched streets and muted alleys of Los Angeles, the environment itself serves as a character. The city’s neglected neighborhoods and worn facades mirror the protagonist’s inner decay.

On-Air Film Review: Jonathan Majors Builds to ‘Magazine Dreams’
Image

Majors is Killian Maddox, an isolated man who is taking care of his aging and ill grandfather (Harrison Page). Mentally damaged from a childhood trauma, Killian keeps obsessing on various elements of his lonely life, including his unhealthy fan following of pro bodybuilder Brad Vanderhorn (Mike O’Hearn). His bodybuilding routine features steroid abuse, and the side effects includes a rage state, equivalent to a real-life Hulk Smash. When the spiral downward enters a darker place, the situation becomes life and death.

”Black Bag” is in theaters beginning on March 14th. Featuring Michael Fassbender, Cate Blanchett, Tom Burke, Marisa Abela, Naomi Harris and Regé-Jean Page. Written by David Koepp. Directed by Steven Soderbergh.

Jonathan Majors on the Letter He Sent Marvel After Being Fired, the Conviction That Derailed His Career and Playing a Toxic Man in ‘Magazine Dreams’
Image
The last time Jonathan Majors sat down for rounds of interviews at a press junket, it was late February 2023. He was the fastest-rising star in Hollywood, with his big-screen Marvel debut as Kang the Conqueror in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” released just ahead of Michael B. Jordan’s boxing blockbuster “Creed III.”

But a month after reaching that pinnacle, Majors was arrested following a fight with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Then, in a highly publicized criminal trial, Majors was convicted of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault. As a result, the actor’s career imploded. Marvel fired him, scrapping his character’s multi-picture arc, and several other film projects (including a Dennis Rodman biopic and a movie with Spike Lee) fell apart. “Magazine Dreams,” a searing look at a dangerously unbalanced bodybuilder that had generated awards buzz for Majors after screening in Sundance, was dropped by its distributor,...

Magazine Dreams Review: Jonathan Majors is Phenomenal in this heartbreaking character study
Image
Plot: An amateur bodybuilder battles both the limits of his physical body and his own inner demons to gain recognition.

Review: I, like many, thought we’d never see Magazine Dreams ever see a proper theatrical release (our own Chris Bumbray reviewed it over two years ago). After Fox Searchlight dropped it from their schedule after Jonathan Majors’ assault conviction, it seemed like a real possibility that it would never see the light of day. Thankfully, Briarcliff Entertainment stepped in and is now giving the film a proper release. And while there’s assuredly a ton of baggage attached, there’s no denying that Magazine Dreams is a phenomenal film that deserves a fair shot.

Magazine Dreams follows Killian Maddox (Majors) an amateur bodybuilder who is struggling with his inner demons. He wants nothing more than to be at the top of the bodybuilding world and is always looking up to famed bodybuilder,...

Jonathan Majors Addresses Whether He Could Return As Kang The Conqueror After Being Fired By Marvel
Image
Jonathan Majors answers whether he could return as Kang the Conquerorafter being fired from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor was once set to be the star of the Multiverse Saga. Majors did not only play Kang, but all of his multiverse variants. The Council of Kangs would have been the driving force of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, Majors was fired by Marvel in December 2023 after being convicted of misdemeanor third-degree assault and second-degree harassment of his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Now that Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom took over Kang's role, Majors talks about a possible return.

Speaking to USA Today, Jonathan Majors revealed he would love to come back as Kang if Marvel came calling. The Kang actor recalled some of the MCU stars he worked with in his time in the franchise, commenting on how he loved working with actors like Loki's Tom Hiddleston. He...

“I’m furiously pursuing for myself and try to inspire that in others.”: Jonathan Majors Speaks on the Difficulties and Significance of Filming Magazine Dreams
Image
The 2023 Sundance Film Festival featured critically acclaimed films like Past Lives, Fair Play, and You Hurt My Feelings. One film that stood out was a groundbreaking performance by Jonathan Majors with Magazine Dreams. Fast-forward two years later and the film is set to hit theaters. We had the opportunity to sit down with Majors to discuss his portrayal of Killian Maddox.

Magazine Dreams follows the story of amateur bodybuilder Killian Maddox, who battles the limits of his physical body and inner demons to gain recognition. Upon watching this, I thought Jonathan Majors was a shoo-in for an Academy Award nomination and even a potential win because this is one of the best performances I’ve seen in a long time. Of course, the controversy surrounding the claims against Majors halted the film’s release date and any awards potential.

'Magazine Dreams' Review: Jonathan Majors Astounds
Image
Let’s get this out of the way first: In December 2023, actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty on two of four charges in a domestic violence case involving ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari — assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree — and sentenced to 52 weeks in a domestic violence intervention program. After Marvel Studios made the controversial decision to fire him, Searchlight Pictures announced it would no longer release writer-director Elijah Bynum’s Magazine Dreams, in which Majors earned raves at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.

Cut to 2025 and Majors has paid his debt to society, and the daredevils at Briarcliff Entertainment have picked up Magazine Dreams for U.S. distribution. Whatever your stance is on the actor, there is no denying that Majors' stunning turn as a rage-filled bodybuilder in Magazine Dreams is so transfixing that it’s only a stone’s throw away from iconic performances by Robert De Niro...

'People Are Rooting for Jonathan': Jonathan Majors' Comeback Film After MCU Firing Gets Support From Hollywood Pals
Image
Embattled actor Jonathan Majors is back on the big screen this spring thanks to the upcoming sports drama, Magazine Dreams, marking his first theatrical appearance since his assault and harassment conviction in 2023.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Briarcliff Entertainment CEO Tom Ortenberg teased what to expect from Magazine Dreams after his studio acquired the film's rights from the Disney-owned Searchlight Pictures amid Majors' legal woes. According to Ortenberg, Briarcliff will show Magazine Dreams in 800 theaters, possibly increasing its distribution should demand pick up. “Anecdotally, we know that Black audiences — both men and women — are extremely enthused about the film,” he said. “There is also pent-up demand from the art house audience, which has been waiting for it since Sundance. And the bodybuilding audience is enormously enthused about this film.”

Magazine Dreams premiered to solid reviews at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023, with the film set to premiere under...

Jennifer Morrison says she'd support a Once Upon a Time reboot, but we wouldn't unless this happened
Image
If you ask anyone what my favorite show is, to this day, it's still Once Upon a Time. The premise of the series, especially those first three seasons, was so unique and wonderful. It was a world that allowed you to escape into the fairytale stories where many were changed in inventive ways that surprised us all.

The show went on for seven seasons, from 2011 to 2018 on ABC, though I'd say that for most fans no matter who your favorite character was or what relationship you shipped the hardest, Ouat season 7 was completely unnecessary and honestly erased from most of our minds. I at least ignore the fact that it was a thing.

It's been a few years now since the series finale aired, and that makes us fans nostalgic for the show. That does mean that the actors are already being asked about whether they'd like to see and...

‘Magazine Dreams’ Trailer: The Jonathan Majors-Led Bodybuilding Drama Finally Sees the Light of Day
Image
When “Magazine Dreams” premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, it seemed positioned to become one of the year’s breakout hits. Jonathan Majors was gearing up for a career-best year, with roles in “Creed 3” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” to come, while Elijah Bynum’s bodybuilding drama gave the actor the kind of showcase that many believed could lead to Oscar glory. A Sundance bidding war broke out, with Searchlight acquiring the theatrical rights and planning a late 2023 release.

But those plans collapsed when Majors was arrested on charges of assault and harassment in March 2023 and found guilty in December 2023. Searchlight pulled the film from its release calendar and Majors was dropped from many of his future projects, including his role as Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that was expected to continue through the next two “Avengers” movies.

“Magazine Dreams” was once again shopped to interested buyers and acquired by Briarcliff Entertainment,...

Image
Two years after it debuted at Sundance as a possible Oscars vehicle for Jonathan Majors, Magazine Dreams has unveiled its first trailer. The long-delayed feature stars Majors as an aspiring body builder who goes to great lengths to achieve fame in the sport.

Searchlight won a bidding war for the project, but just months later, Majors was arrested in New York, and ultimately convicted of assault and harassment following an incident with his ex-partner, Grace Jabbari. Searchlight dropped the project, and Majors experienced a career freefall, losing his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Magazine Dreams‘ was in doubt for nearly a year, but distributor Briarcliff picked up the project in October, setting a March 21 release date. The outfit is known for taking on controversial films and was rewarded with two Oscar nominations for its Donald Trump feature The Apprentice.

‘Magazine Dreams’ Trailer: Jonathan Majors’ Violent Bodybuilder Drama Gets Ready to Release After Actor’s Assault Conviction
Image
Jonathan Majors’ violent bodybuilding drama “Magazine Dreams” has received its first trailer, after the actor was convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and the film was temporarily shelved. It will now release in theaters on March 21 from Briarcliff Entertainment.

In the film, Majors plays amateur bodybuilder Killian Maddox, who aspires to make a name for himself within the violent world of bodybuilding. However, to the detriment of his physical and mental health, he continues to strive to become a star, as he continues to go against doctors’ orders and grapple with his peers.

While “Magazine Dreams” was met with buzz after its debut at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, sparking a bidding war that led the film to find a home at Searchlight Pictures for a reported mid-seven figures, the distributor dropped the film in January 2024 after Majors was accused of domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.

The Running Man | Josh Brolin to play the villain in Edgar Wright’s new adaptation
Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Martha Plimpton, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Kerri Green, and Ke Huy Quan in Los Goonies (1985)
The Goonies star James Brolin will star opposite Glen Powell in Edgar Wright’s take on Stephen King’s The Running Man.

As Edgar Wright’s take on The Running Man continues to edge closer to production, another key piece of casting has been announced. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Josh Brolin will play the film’s lead antagonist, most likely the lead hunter pursuing Powell’s Ben Richards, the titular ‘running man.’

Set in a dystopian future where America has become largely ghettoised, reality TV is the ‘opiate of the masses’, pumping out violent shows that distract viewers from the misery that surrounds them. The most popular show of all, The Running Man, charges a contestant with running and hiding for a month as hunters attempt to track them down and murder them.

If it sounds dark, that’s because it is. King’s original book is so bleak...

The Running Man Casts Josh Brolin as Villain Opposite Glen Powell
Image
Glen Powell has found his adversary in Edgar Wright's upcoming adaptation of The Running Man, based on Stephen King's 1982 novel. Josh Brolin is in final talks to play the villain in the film, which makes sense Brolin is no stranger to playing bad guys; in fact, he was once the biggest threat to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Per Deadline, Josh Brolin is joining The Running Man update from Paramount Pictures. The exact details of his role are still under wraps, but given that he's described as the "antagonist behind the violent reality show," Brolin is likely playing Dan Killian a role previously played by game-show host Richard Dawson in the 1987 adaptation starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the dystopian thriller novel, which King wrote under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, Killian is the executive producer of a reality show in which contestants are forced to run for their lives from trained...

Netflix Cancels Jeff Goldblums New Show With 76% Rt Score Just 1 Month After Its Debut
Image
Netflix has cancelled Kaos starring Jeff Goldblum after only a month. Created by Charlie Covell (The End of the F***ing World), the series features Goldblum in the lead role as Zeus with a story that chronicles the fallout of Zeus' decision to imprison Prometheus (Stephen Dillane). The show's eight-episode season 1 hit the streamer on August 29, with supporting Kaos cast members including David Thewlis as Hades, Cliff Curtis as Poseidon, Janet McTeer as Hera, and Aurora Perrineau as Eurydice, aka Riddy.

Variety now reports that Kaos has been cancelled after just over a month of availability on Netflix. Representatives from the streamer have yet to comment on the cancellation, but the decision follows the show spending four weeks in the Netflix top 10. Despite charting, the show still struggled to break through, peaking at the number three spot on the English language TV chart in its second week with 5.9 million views.

‘Kaos’: Netflix Cancels Jeff Goldblum’s Greek Mythology Comedy After One Season
Image
Kaos will not continue to reign.

Netflix has canceled the Jeff Goldblum-fronted Greek mythology comedy after one season. Aurora Perrineau, one of the stars of Kaos, appeared to confirm the cancellation in a now-deleted Instagram post. Deadline understands the news is legitimate. Netflix has been contacted for comment.

Kaos was first greenlit in 2018 after being created by Charlie Covell (The End of the F***ing World). The series was produced by Sister, the UK drama powerhouse, and Deadline understands that preparations were well underway for a second season.

Goldblum stars in Kaos as Zeus, who begins to fear his reign is ending as he spots a wrinkle on his forehead, making him paranoid and spiteful toward his devotees. Meanwhile, three mortals set off on a journey to fulfill their identical prophecies.

Season 1 was ambitious in scale and boasted an ensemble cast that included Janet McTeer as Hera,...

Jonathan Majors’ ‘Magazine Dreams’ Landing Theatrical Release From ‘Apprentice’ Outfit Briarcliff
Image
Jonathan Majors’ bodybuilding drama Magazine Dreams has found a path to theaters after being dropped by Searchlight in January following the star’s criminal conviction.

Briarcliff has picked up the project for distribution, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed, and plans to release it in theaters in the first quarter of 2025. The Tom Ortenberg-run distributor has a history of acquiring controversial projects, and will release the Donald Trump feature The Apprentice later this month after no major Hollywood studio would touch it.

Writer-director Elijah Bynum’s Magazine Dreams bowed at Sundance in 2023 to rave reviews for Majors’ performance as amateur bodybuilder Killian Maddox, with the actor earning early awards buzz. Disney-owned Searchlight acquired the project after a bidding war, but ultimately dropped the movie after Majors was convicted of assault and harassment, stemming from an incident involving his ex-partner, Grace Jabbari.

Searchlight returned the film to producers and allowed them to shop it.

The Running Man | What might Edgar Wright’s new adaptation of Stephen King’s novel look like?
Image
Edgar Wright is officially making The Running Man, a new version of Stephen King’s novel last adapted in 1987. Here’s how it could differ from that earlier one:

Most readers would likely agree that The Running Man isn’t the best of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s cycle of action movie vehicles from the 1980s and early 1990s, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t memorable. If you’ve seen it, you can probably quote a line or two (“Sub-Zero… now plain zero!”), or remember Richard Dawson’s captivatingly oily turn as game show host, Jack Killian.

You might recall the almost musical note that one of the villains, Buzzsaw (Gus Rethwisch), manages to hit when a chainsaw’s applied to his nether regions. Or even remember the bafflement of seeing rockers Mick Fleetwood and Dweezil Zappa show up.

Directed by Paul Michael Glaser and written by Steven E de Souza,...

An Iron Man Villain Secretly Discovered The McU's Mutants 14 Years Ago According To Clever X-Men Theory
Image
The X-Gene has been subtly teased in the MCU through Aldrich Killian's Extremis experiments. As Killian explains in Iron Man 3, ther human brain has “… essentially an empty slot, and what this tells us is that our mind, our entire DNA in fact, is destined to be upgraded." Mutants like the Maximoff twins and Namor had their powers activated artificially, similarly to Aldrich Killian's Extremis soldiers. The McU's version of the X-Gene may need external influence for activation, unlike in the comics and Fox's X-Men movies, where mutants develop powers naturally in their teenage years.

A Phase 2 villain discovered the MCU’s mutant gene before the X-Men’s introduction, according to a Marvel theory. Mutants have been notably absent from most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s collection of movies and shows. Only until Phases 4 and 5 has the franchise begun to hint to the existence of McU-born mutants. But...

Iron Man's 10 Most Impressive Displays Of Power In The MCU
Image
Iron Man's first suit, built from scraps, showcased his technical proficiency and marked a strong debut for the character in the MCU. Iron Man's ability to hold his own against Thor demonstrated the strength, durability, and impressive features of his suit. From infiltrating bases with odds and ends to using an army of suits in battle, Iron Man continually displayed his innovation and technological prowess throughout his MCU journey.

Marvel Studios' first on-screen superhero, Iron Man, demonstrated some incredible feats of power and intelligence over his lengthy MCU career. Robert Downey Jr. debuted as Tony Stark in 2008's Iron Man, Marvel Studios' first big screen project that kick-started the MCU. Downey Jr. appeared in a total of ten MCU projects before Iron Man sacrificed himself to defeat Thanos and save the universe in 2019's Avengers: Endgame, making him one of the most consistent characters of the franchise's Infinity Saga.

Iron Man 2's Cut Ending Makes Pepper's MCU Arc Better (By Initially Being Worse)
Image
Iron Man 2's unused ending would have showcased Pepper Potts more as a hero in her own right in the arc of the trilogy, but at the cost of making her story in the film itself more reductive. The alternate ending creates a weaker final fight and reduces Pepper to a damsel in distress, but it would have set the stage better for her badass fight sequence in Iron Man 3 and a more complete character arc. While the actual ending makes Pepper's return to the MCU more possible, the unused ending would have highlighted her agency and paved the way for her to gain the Rescue armor, emphasizing that "normal" people can be heroes too.

An unused ending for Iron Man 2 could have improved Pepper Potts' overall Marvel Cinematic Universe arc - though it would have initially been worse. As the Iron Man trilogy was the first...

10 MCU Fan Theories That Were Confirmed
Image
The theory that the real Mandarin exists in the MCU was confirmed in "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." The small city seen in the Quantum Realm in "Ant-Man and the Wasp" turned out to be where Kang the Conqueror resided in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." The theory that Captain America was always worthy of lifting Mjolnir was confirmed when he wielded the hammer in "Avengers: Endgame."

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has made way for a number of fan theories, of which some ended up being confirmed at some point. The MCU is now the biggest connected universe in the superhero genre, and it all began in 2008 with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, which introduced Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. Iron Man set the tone for the rest of the movies in the MCU’s Infinity Saga, and even after the retirement of the original Avengers,...

Extremis' Place in the MCU, Explained
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's humble beginnings began with the original Iron Man and proposed the notion that the human brain had the potential to accomplish the impossible. As the years progressed, movies like Captain America: The First Avenger showed that science could empower ideas and push humans to their physical peak. Granted, this evolution pushed practical ideas, like an iron suit, into the deeper realms of science fiction. Yet, it still showed that, like Marvel Comics, the MCU had mastered using real scientific ideas to make something new.

Iron Man 3 was the greatest departure from grounded science at the time, and this was thanks to Extremis, a procedure that enhanced humans in a fiery and groundbreaking way. Ironically, having Extremis-powered enemies face off with Iron Man was the best way to have the grounded past of the MCU face off with its expanding and superpowered future. But with Extremis...

Phase 5 Created An Iron Man Plot-Hole 4 Years After His Endgame Death
Image
Warning: This article contains Spoilers for Secret Invasion episode 3.Marvel’s Phase 5 Secret Invasion just created an Iron Man Extremis plot hole that affects Tony Stark’s sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame. Iron Man 3 was loosely inspired by Marvel Comics’ Extremis arc, and it saw Tony Stark facing enhanced people whose DNA had been changed by the Extremis nanotechnology. The Extremis allowed someone to regenerate their body and heal any type of wounds, not to mention the exothermic properties that were essentially a superpower. However, Iron Man 3’s Extremis was not stable, and those who used could explode. Surprisingly, Secret Invasion’s Super Skrull plot reveals that Extremis could actually work as a stable healing factor.

Secret Invasion’s Super Skrull replaced the Fantastic Four powers. In the comics, the character who would become known as Super Skrull was genetically enhanced to accurately mimic the powers of Mr. Fantastic,...

Secret Invasion Is Finally Redeeming Iron Man 3
Image
This article contains spoilers

As Kyle Bradstreet’s Secret Invasion reaches its halfway point, the spy series is surprising us in more ways than one. It’s not just the shocking death of Emilia Clarke’s G’iah and the well-signposted reveal that Don Cheadle’s James “Rhodey” Rhodes is a Skrull that make Episode 3 worth a watch. Somehow, Secret Invasion has done the almost unthinkable and made us reconsider Iron Man 3.

Up there with Alan Taylor’s Thor: The Dark World and (more recently) Chloé Zhao’s Eternals, Shane Black’s 2013 threequel is often held as one of the ‘worst’ Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. While even a bad MCU outing usually fares better than an average DC movie, Iron Man 3’s reception hasn’t exactly improved over the years. With botched villains, a bizarre push to release in 3D, and That Mandarin twist, it’s taken a...

Oscorp & 7 Other Evil Marvel Organizations Still Missing From The MCU
Image
Just like the Spider-Man franchise's Oscorp, there are sinister corporations responsible for all kinds of corruption and villains in the Marvel Universe, though many have yet to be fully realized in the MCU. While standalone villains or teams of foes are exciting, the idea of an entire company or organization dedicated to evil is quite entertaining as well. It would certainly be a new kind of threat that the MCU could start tapping into.

Interestingly enough, seeds have been planted for a few organizations in other Marvel franchises such as Sony's Spider-Man movies and the X-Men franchise recently acquired by Disney, both of which have MCU crossover potential. At the same time, there have also been teases for evil companies within the MCU itself (without actual payoffs). Including Oscorp, here are 8 ideas for evil organizations and corporations that are missing from the MCU (and would be captivating additions).

The MCU Still Hasn't Solved A Big Iron Man 3 Mystery
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has finally moved on from Iron Man and his sacrifice at the end of Avengers: Endgame, but this universe still has one big mystery from Iron Man 3 to solve. Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man is the hero that kicked off the MCU as it’s known, and as such, he was one of the leaders of this connected universe throughout the Infinity Saga, even leading the original Avengers team alongside Captain America. Iron Man was also the first superhero to get three solo movies in the MCU, setting the model for the rest of this universe’s characters, but his sequels didn’t really match the quality and success of his debut movie.

Iron Man 3 was Tony’s first post-Avengers adventure, and as such, it saw him dealing with anxiety and Ptsd as a result of his near-death experience during the Battle of New York.

MCU Characters Who Turned Out To Be Huge Disappointments
Image
While the comic book source material is always close to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's heart, the movies aren't afraid to pave their own way through one of the publisher's many classic stories. Along with changes to plots we thought we knew, new versions of old friends and foes pop up on the big and small screens -- and the results of these transformations aren't always what we expected.

Most of the time, the changes are refreshing, giving us a new view of a character that might've been first introduced in the 1970s, like Starfox, allowing them an opportunity to reboot some seriously dated morals. Or they introduce someone almost totally new, like Scarlet Scarab, to bring in a viewpoint that's never had the representation it deserved. But sometimes, the results are controversial, leading fans to argue that the MCU dropped the ball. It's a conflict that arises around villains the most,...

Iron Man 3 Had The McU's Weirdest Captain America Easter Egg (& It Spoiled Its Twist)
Image
Like every other movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Iron Man 3 is packed with Easter eggs and references to past movies and other characters, and among them is a weird Captain America Easter egg that actually spoiled the movie’s biggest twist. Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man was the hero that kicked off the MCU, and while his first movie is considered among the best in the Infinity Saga, the same can’t be said about his sequels. Iron Man 2 is considered one of the weakest movies in the MCU, while Iron Man 3 divided the audience as it was darker than previous Iron Man movies, yet it still lacked some of the spark that made the first movie a success.

Set after the events of The Avengers, Iron Man 3 saw Tony Stark dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety after his near-death experience during the Battle of New York.

All 20 Times MCU Heroes Actually Killed Their Villains
Image
Sometimes a superhero's only choice is to kill their adversary, which has been the case on 20 occasions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios kicked off their shared universe with 2008's Iron Man, and since then, dozens of heroes have been introduced to the franchise. But every good superhero needs a terrifying and powerful villain. Over the course of the MCU, major villains from Marvel Comics such as Red Skull, Thanos, the Mandarin, and Kang the Conqueror have debuted in live-action. And while some of them ended up defeated by their own flawed schemes, it often falls on the hero themselves to eliminate the threat of their villains.

Despite some memorable villains being introduced to the MCU over the years, Marvel Studios has often come under scrutiny for featuring major villains from Marvel Comics that end up being defeated in their debut projects. However, some villains have managed to stand the test of time,...

2023 Is The Year Of Jonathan Majors, But Most People Haven't Seen His Best Performance Yet
Image
Jonathan Majors is having a great year on screen. The actor began his film and TV career just five years ago, but this month alone, he's starred in two number-one movies at the box office. After making a name for himself as a poetic supporting character in "The Last Black Man in San Francisco," taking on the main role in HBO's "Lovecraft Country," and appearing in films like "Da 5 Bloods" and "Devotion," Majors added some major franchises to his repertoire. He can currently be spotted going head to head with Michael B. Jordan in "Creed III," as well as making his big-screen Marvel debut as Kang the Conquerer in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania."

Both of Majors' 2023 performances to date have earned him praise from critics and fans, but by the time the next award cycle runs around, the actor's name could be on the tip of everyone's tongue...

East New York Season 1 Episode 17 Spoilers: Will Regina Confront Suarez During An Investigation?
Jimmy Smits, Richard Kind, Kevin Rankin, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, and Amanda Warren in East New York (2022)
Now that East New York residents aren't robbing high-end stores, will Suarez be more interested in local crimes?

Even if he does, Regina's still upset about him seeming to take credit for her solo foot patrol program.

She might not appreciate Suarez showing up to comfort a well-known resident after the woman's husband is killed on East New York Season 1 Episode 17. And that's Suarez's fault for getting too involved in politics.

Regina's far too professional to confront Suarez in front of a grieving widow. But you can bet she'll have something to say in private.

Suarez might not be aware that the news station cut his comments giving Regina credit, but that doesn't absolve him of anything, and Regina will let him know that.

East New York Season 1 Episode 16 Review: Personal Shopper
Jimmy Smits, Richard Kind, Kevin Rankin, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, and Amanda Warren in East New York (2022)
Regina's all about helping young girls make good decisions. That's why she's coaching the track team.

But on East New York Season 1 Episode 16, the people she works with kept making horrible choices.

Suarez's naivety was astounding, and Killian's decision to take $10,000 from a guy who is almost certainly a mob boss wasn't much better. Get it together, guys!

Does Suarez have selective amnesia? This is the second time Allison-related press has screwed him over in as many weeks!

After Allison posted an out-of-context video of Suarez confronting allegedly lazy officers on a street corner, Suarez was furious. Yet he allowed her to do the same thing again by agreeing to sit for a press interview she had arranged.

View Slideshow: CBS Cheat Sheet: CSI: Vegas & NCIS: Los Angeles in Danger

While he was careful during the interview to give Regina credit for the foot patrol program, it never...

Jenna Ortega's MCU Debut In Iron Man 3 Was Brief, But Meaningful
Image
To state it outright, Shane Black's 2013 film "Iron Man 3" is one of the best films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was a film not about overpowering villains or the strength of forward-assault military tactics, but about wit and character. Tony Stark spent a great deal of the film outside of his armor, mentally damaged by the trauma of fighting aliens during "The Avengers" (2012), requiring him to use his brains to solve a new crisis. He also uses his Iron Man suit to stage a daring mid-air rescue in a display of heroism frustratingly lacking from a series about superheroes.

Additionally, the film added a clever twist to its villain, a terrorist calling himself The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley). While initially presented as an aggressive, violent criminal, it was eventually revealed that the Mandarin was in fact a dumb, drug-addled actor, hired by Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) to merely pose as a villain.
