Chicago – Big-budget Hollywood is struggling to find new stories, which is why we sometimes see the same ones two, three or even 10 times. Sometimes they’re days or months apart. And sometimes they shouldn’t have been made in the first place and just were to profit from a beloved story or hero.
Rating: 1.0/5.0
Here’s a thing that sure makes you go hmmm. The plot synopsis for “The Legend of Hercules,” which stars Kellan Lutz of “Twilight” fame and opened on Jan. 10, 2014 from the producers of “The Expendables,” is:
“The Legend of Hercules” is the origin story of the mythical Greek hero. Betrayed by his stepfather (the king) and exiled and sold into slavery because of a forbidden love, Hercules must use his formidable powers to fight his way back to his rightful kingdom.

Hugh Jackman'S next X-Men spin-off, The Wolverine, is getting a rewrite.
Confirming a recent rumour we had heard, Variety reports that Mark Bomback has been enlisted to rework Christopher McQuarrie's screenplay for the 20th Century Fox project.
Bomback wrote Die Hard 4, Unstoppable, Race to Witch Mountain, Bryan Singer's upcoming Jack The Giant Killer and the new remake of Total Recall. He also scripted 2008 crime drama Deception, which starred Jackman.
With James Mangold directing, The Wolverine will see the metal-clawed hero "suffering from amnesia and searching for answers about his past in the Japanese criminal underworld where he finds both love and tragedy."
Variety adds that the entire cast will comprise Japanese and Japanese-American actors except for "a newly-expanded character named Viper, who's the Caucasian secretary for Japan's Minister of Justice."

With a delay on production now looming over James Mangold’s The Wolverine (here) , the film is still looking to get its cast together. Israel site Abba-Nibi is reporting the gorgeous Sarai Givaty is auditioning for the film. She’s apparently passed two auditions for the role of a sexy huntress, and is looking to speak with director James Mangold.

Courtesy of Abbanibi Israeli Hottie Sarai Givaty Is reportedly doing really well in the auditions for ‘The Wolverine,’ the next installment in the X-Men movie franchise. Apparently Givaty has already passed two auditions for the role of one of Wolverine’s sexy hunters, and now she’s set for an audition with the movie’s director, James Mangold Sarai Givaty has already claimed her fame when she guest- starred in the #1 TV show ‘NCIS’ as Ziva’s nemesis, and she recently finish filming ‘Black Velvet’ opposite Ray Wise (‘Twin Peaks,’ ’24′). She’s currently finishing recording her debut album in Israel, from which the first single has already been released, called ‘Paris’. I saw her guest appearance in NCIS, and she was terrific at playing a strong devious character that was Ziva's adversary. If the huntress role is from the comic books, I can't think of one that would fit the Frank Miller japanese sage.

We're all on the same side here ... or are we?
This week on NCIS, the Israelis came to town, and Ziva not only reunited with her father, but met his new Ziva. To call "Enemies Foreign" a weighty episode would be understating it.
Despite the obvious friction with Liat (guest star Sarai Givaty), both Ziva 1.0 and 2.0 had the same goal in mind. But will that change in next week's conclusion, "Enemies Domestic"?

It's amazing that after seven-plus seasons as one of the most consistently compelling shows on TV, NCIS still finds another gear with certain story arcs, one of which began Tuesday.
When Ziva's father makes a surprise visit to the U.S., NCIS must ensure his protection. But in "Enemies Foreign," the adversary was formidable and the mystery deeper than usual.
Eli David (played incredibly by Michael Nouri) was riveting in every scene, but never more so than when reuniting with Ziva, the daughter he raised, only to abandon in the desert.
Family Reunion: This one would be a psychologist's nightmare.
Ziva obviously resents her father and all he represents, and his steely justification for his actions hit like a ton of bricks: With the fate of Israel in his hands, he will not act on emotion.
Give Eli David credit for brevity, if nothing else. The man did not blow smoke in that situation.

As we discussed in our NCIS review, Ziva's history nearly came back to haunt her when some shady Middle Eastern arms dealers recognized her in last night's episode.
Next week, there's no question that the Israeli native's past takes center stage as her father, Eli David, attends an NCIS conference, which leads to some big surprises.
Michael Nouri reprises the role of Eli, while Sarai Givaty also guest stars as their country's intelligence liaison, charged with protecting the controversial Mossad chief.
For more on this two-part story arc, check out these interviews with Cote De Pablo (Ziva) and Rocky Carroll (Vance). Then see the first promo for "Enemies Foreign" below ...

Looks like NCIS' Ziva David is being replaced, personally and professionally.
No, Cote de Pablo's character is not leaving the show. But Israeli actress/model Sarai Givaty has just been cast in a multi-episode story arc next month as Liat, an Israeli intelligence office liaison charged with keeping Ziva’s father, Eli David, dad out of harm’s way.
Sarai Givaty is the new Ziva ... on the Mossad side, that is.
Naturally, this being Ziva, she does what any smart, self-confident tough chick would: She has a knock-down, drag-out fight with the new “her.” Hmm. Our money's on Z.
This casting news, courtesy of EW, offers yet another clue about Vance's story line and the return of Eli David scheduled for this fall. It will be interesting to watch unfold.
There's also the matter of who she's been conversing with since her stint in Miami, which is bound...

NBC has certainly had some problems attracting viewers. One of their biggest trouble spots has been Monday nights at 10pm. Great shows like Journeyman, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and The Black Donnellys have all tried and failed. My Own Worst Enemy hasn't done any better.
My Own Worst Enemy centers around Henry Spivey (Christian Slater), an everyday businessman with a wife (Madchen Amick) and two kids (Taylor Lautner, and Bella Thorne). Unbeknown to even himself, Henry has another identity as an operative and trained killer named Edward Albright.
In this second persona, he works for a secret spy organization under the supervision of Mavis Heller (Alfre Woodard). He's frequently partnered with Tom Grady/Raymond Carter (Mike O'Malley). Other performers include Omid Abtahi, Saffron Burrows, James Cromwell, Sarai Givaty, Mark Ivanir, Mindy Sterling, Missy Yager, Eugenia Yuan, and Louis Giambalvo.

The NBC TV show that brought Christian Slater to weekly television was cancelled after just four weeks on the air. Production shut down after nine episodes and NBC plans to air them all. One of the series' stars, Madchen Amick, is confused by the decision to cancel the show but has a theory about why it happened.
My Own Worst Enemy is an action drama follows a man (Slater) with two distinct identities -- Henry Spivey and Edward Albright. Henry, his wife (Amick), and children (Taylor Lautner, and Bella Thorne) all believe that he's a mild-mannered family man. Meanwhile, Edward is a super spy who works under supervisor Mavis Heller (Alfre Woodard) and is partnered with fellow operative Raymond Carter (Mike O'Malley). Others in the cast include Omid Abtahi, Saffron Burrows, James Cromwell, Sarai Givaty, Mark Ivanir, Mindy Sterling, Missy Yager, Eugenia Yuan, and Louis Giambalvo.

My Own Worst Enemy follows the strange life of Henry Spivey (Christian Slater), a hum-drum suburbanite with a wife and two kids (played by Madchen Amick, Taylor Lautner, and Bella Thorne). Unknown to Henry and his loved ones, he has a dual identity as a secret operative and trained killer named Edward Albright.
Edward works for a superspy organization under supervisor Mavis Heller (Alfre Woodard) and is partnered with friend and fellow operative Tom Grady/Raymond Carter (Mike O'Malley). Others in the series include Omid Abtahi, Saffron Burrows, James Cromwell, Sarai Givaty, Mark Ivanir, Mindy Sterling, Missy Yager, Eugenia Yuan, and Louis Giambalvo.
The show debuted on October 13, 2008 on NBC. Despite a lot of high-profile promotion,...

TORONTO -- Mark Heller's Moroccan thriller "The Passage" and David Ross' "The Babysitters" are to unspool next month at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of its Discovery program, organizers said Thursday.
The low-budget "Passage" features Stephen Dorff as an American experiencing a near-fatal forbidden romance in Morocco with a local woman played by Sarai Givaty.
David Ross is making his directorial debut with "The Babysitters", a drama he wrote about a 16-year-old girl (Katherine Waterston) who turns her babysitting service into a call-girl ring for married men after starting an affair with a customer. John Leguizamo, Cynthia Nixon, Denis O'Hare and Andy Comeau round out the cast.
Festival co-director Noah Cowan said both "Passage" and "Babysitters" are certain to strike a chord with buyers in Toronto as will "The World Unseen", a British-South African co-production from Shamim Sarif that stars Lisa Ray ("Water") and is set in 1950's South Africa.
"Among the Discovery films this year, there are films that will introduce the world to some of the most significant talent in cinema over the next 10 years," Cowan said, adding that the sidebar will have art house and commercially minded films for distributors.

Penelope Cruz has slammed rumors she is dating French actor Olivier Martinez. The pair were spotted last week in an embrace at LA's Chateau Marmont Hotel just 12 hours after his split from pop star Kylie Minogue - but the Volver star insists she was only offering Martinez a shoulder to cry on, as the couple have been firm friends for many years. She says, "Olivier and I have been friends for seven years. We are very close. You can understand it's a difficult time for him right now, so I have been there for him to offer support. And it was lovely seeing him the other day - it has been such a long time. He's a great guy, but no, nothing happened." Minogue and Martinez issued a statement earlier this month announcing their decision to part, claiming it was "amicable and Mutual." The Taking Lives actor sparked rumors of a split with the star in December after he was spotted with Israeli model Sarai Givati and Lost star Michelle Rodriguez.

Pop star Kylie Minogue was reportedly dumped by boyfriend Olivier Martinez during a phone call last Friday. The 41-year-old actor was reportedly spotted with a mystery brunette in Los Angeles just hours after ending his four-year relationship with Minogue - who is currently in Mexico - and the woman allegedly spent the night with him at his hotel. An onlooker tells British newspaper the Sunday Mirror, "You wouldn't have thought he'd just split with the love of his life. This beautiful woman jumped into this car and they sped off. He looked very comfortable and happy - not remotely upset." The pair issued a statement last Friday saying, "Olivier Martinez and Kylie Minogue have officially confirmed that they are no longer a couple. They have made it clear that the decision to go their separate ways was mutual and amicable. The media's false accusations of disloyalty have saddened them both. The two remain very close friends." Martinez had sparked rumors of a split with the singing star in December after he was spotted with Israeli model Sarai Givaty and Lost star Michelle Rodriguez.
