Kamaleddin Tabatabai
- Producer
Seyed Kamal Tabatabaee (Kamaleddin Tababatabee) is one of the leading
producers and executive producers in Iran's cinema. He started his
career in 1994 with 'Marde Aftabi' (the Sunny Man), a movie depicting
the lives of a group of young men who migrate to Japan. The movie took
almost 3 years to complete. Tabatabaee has been responsible for one of
the highest selling movies of all time in Iranian cinematic history
'Tofighe Ejbari' (Forced Success), starring Mohammad Reza Golzar and
Reza Attaran. More recently, Tabatabaee was responsible for the success
of a new format serial films, known as Home Entertainment Series,
through investing, producing, releasing and distributing (all in house)
the series 'Ghalb-e Yakhi' (Frozen Heart). Ghalb-e Yakhi became a huge
success with audiences and the industry alike, as it provided a venue
for series and mini-series which had more flexibility in terms of
storyline and production than the government-based television and
networks in Iran. Other such series followed, and there is speculation
of more to come in near future. Ghalb-e Yakhi is in its third season,
and continuing to enjoy its ever growing popularity and success.
