The Apollo missions have been the cause of much wonder and speculation, and a new feature based upon the book by author Barry N. Malzberg entitled Beyond Apollo is casting up and headed our way.
Directed by Michael Grodner, Beyond Apollo stars the recently signed Ali Larter ("Heroes", Resident Evil), Scott Speedman (Underworld), and Bill Pullman (Independence Day, The Serpent and the Rainbow, Lost Highway).
Produced by Aaron Ockman (Children of the Corn: Genesis, Hellraiser: Revelations), the interstellar terror tale now has the support of sales company Stealth Media Group with Cloverfield director Matt Reeves signing on as an executive producer. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in the fall.

Scott Speedman, Bill Pullman and Ali Larter are attached to star in a film version of Barry Malzberg's controversial award-winning sci-fi novel "Beyond Apollo" reports Variety.
The story deals with the first two-man mission to Venus being aborted mid-flight and abruptly returning back to Earth.
When rescue crews retrieve the space capsule, they discover The Captain is missing and the lone surviving astronaut has no clue as to what took place.
Michael Grodner penned the script and will direct. Aaron Ockman will produce and shooting begins this Fall.

Some early horror news is developing from the Waterfont Film Festival, which begins June 9th, 2011, in Saugatack, Michigan. The Waterfront Film Festival covers material that is on the cutting edge of the arts and entertainment field.
So far, the festival has announced that author Steffan Postaer's zombie styled script, Belzec: The Made Undead, has won one of the festivals many writing competitions. Postaer's script covers an undead uprising in a World War II concentration camp. So, say good-bye to G.J. Joe later this year, as Belzec is expected to move into film production, late in 2011. Also announced is a showing of Elias Matar's Ashes, which also features a virulent disease, plaguing a local hospital. Soon, orderlies are enraged by a spreading bacteria!
