Back in November, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Funny or Die regular Luke Barnett, who co-wrote, acted in, and produced the Christian film industry satire Faith Based, had signed on to star in a thriller called Teacher’s Pet. That project has since made its way through production, and our friends at Bloody Disgusting – along with director Noam Kroll himself – have confirmed that Barnett is joined in the cast by Clayton Royal Johnson (Stranger Things), Kevin Makely (Young Rock), Drew Powell (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Sara Tomko (Resident Alien), Josh Pafchek, genre icon Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator), and newcomers Michelle Torian, Alexe-Anne Godin, and Makenna Ginn.
Kroll wrote a blog entry about the making of the film, complete with behind-the-scenes images, that can be read at This Link. Kroll made his feature directorial debut with the 2012 drama Footsteps and has followed that up with the mystery thriller Shadows on the Road, the thriller Psychosynthesis,...

If you have read the synopsis for A Reckoning you’d be forgiven for thinking you might have seen this movie before. It reads ‘After her husband is brutally murdered, a widowed homesteader seeks revenge and leaves everything behind to hunt down his killer.’ Very similar sounding to the brilliant The Nightingale from director Jennifer Kent. I will more than likely be mentioning that movie again in this review.
It’s not always essential to have action throughout, even if a movie is labeled as some kind of revenge thriller. A slow burn is sometimes the way to go but A Reckoning does feel like a very slow movie despite coming in at a little under eighty minutes. There are lots of scenes of the lead character Mary O’ Malley just silently...

Kevin Makley’s career has been a schmorgesborg of sorts. In the nearly 20 years since making his on screen debut, he has played a wide variety of characters on the big screen and the small screen. His roles haven’t always been the biggest, but he leaves a lasting impact no matter what. After a couple of years away from the screen, Kevin recently made a comeback with his role in the new TV series Young Rock. In the show he plays former professional wrestler Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage and he does a great job of bringing the legendary athlete to

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s autobiographical NBC comedy “Young Rock” has found its Vince McMahon in comedian Adam Ray, TheWrap has learned. Additionally, the role of “Macho Man” Randy Savage is being played by Kevin Makely, we’re told.
Ray, who voiced Slimer in 2016’s “Ghostbusters,” will play the future WWE Chairman as he worked his way up the ladder in his father’s pro-wrestling promotional business. Makely, who starred in 2019 western “Badland,” is a spot-on casting as one of the WWF’s most colorful characters.
Below are character descriptions for McMahon, Savage and the rest of the main wrestlers this side of Dwayne’s own dad Rocky Johnson (played by Joseph Lee Anderson). Find our first-look photos of Ray as McMahon and Makely as Savage at the bottom of the post.

While Netflix‘s bonkers documentary Tiger King is taking over the world right now, two surprising films are dominating the streaming service’s newly-added Top 10 movie section.
The current #1 film on Netflix is the Mel Gibson-led Blood Father, a thriller about an ex-con reuniting with his estranged 17-year old daughter to help protect her from drug dealers seeking to end her life. The pic didn’t fare too well at the box office, bringing in just under $7,000,000 worldwide against its estimated $13,000,000 budget. Even so, critics praised the film, earning it a certified fresh rating of 89% on aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes.
Its addition to the Netflix catalog seems to be turning it into a bit of a cult hit now, and with a runtime of only 90 minutes, it might just be worth checking out while you’re stuck at home in self-quarantine from the Covid-19 coronavirus. You can thank us later.

"I always knew my sins would catch up to me." Cinedigm has debuted a trailer for an indie western titled Badland, not to be confused with Terrence Malick's classic Badlands. This Wild West Badland film is the latest from writer/director Justin Lee and is arriving November. Set after the Civil War, detective Matthias Breecher is hired to track down the worst of the Confederate war criminals. As he roams the Old West seeking justice, his resolve is tested when he meets a determined pioneer woman who is far more than she seems. Starring an impressive cast: Kevin Makely, Mira Sorvino, Wes Studi, Trace Adkins, Bruce Dern, Jeff Fahey, Tony Todd, Amanda Wyss, Ryan Kelley, and James Russo. This does not look good, which is no surprise considering we've never heard of it before. Right in the bargain bin. Here's the official Us trailer for Justin Lee's Badland, direct...

It wasn’t easy making Justin Lee’s third feature film “Any Bullet Will Do.”
The revenge Western was shot in five weeks in the snowy mountains of Montana, adjacent to Yellowstone National Park in very frigid conditions.
“There were days when it was negative five degrees outside and there was five feet of snow and we were in the middle of it,” pic’s star Jenny Curtis said at a New York screening hosted by the Robb Report’s Vices section.
The film, which is set in 1876 Montana, follows Hollis (Kevin Makely) and Rose (Curtis). Rose helps guide Hollis over a dangerous mountain path to find his brother, Everett (Todd Robinson) who murdered one of the family’s slaves after learning Hollis was in love with her.
Both Curtis and Makely spoke about making the film following the screening at the Crosby Hotel on Monday night.

Falling asleep in the woods? Just don't do it, especially if there is ... potentially ... a giant, mythical, and/or dangerous creature wandering around, waiting to devour you! This is my personal take-away from Big Legend, now available to enjoy on a variety of VOD (video on demand) platforms, via Vega Baby Releasing and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Arriving on VOD next Tuesday, July 3rd, is Justin Lee’s Big Legend, which follows a man (played by Kevin Makely) who, haunted by the disappearance of his fiancé, heads back to the woods where she was taken, only to find himself hot on the trail of none other than Bigfoot himself, and he must find a way to contend with the elusive creature.
Daily Dead recently spoke with Lee about the real-life inspiration behind Big Legend, and he discussed how Makely’s own obsession with the long-rumored beast led to him taking on the infamous Sasquatch as well. Lee chatted about working with his lead actor (and long-time best pal) and collaborating with several genre veterans on Big Legend, and he also discussed future plans for the world he establishes in the film, which is set up during Big Legend’s finale with the help of Lance Henriksen.

Try not to laugh or roll your eyes too hard as you read what Big Legend is about: Bigfoot. Yes, it's true, writer/director Justin Lee's new movie is about Bigfoot but he also seems to be taking a new approach to the legend because this trailer features some serous thriller vibes.
Kevin Makely stars Tyler, an ex-soldier who ventures into the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest in search of his fiance who disappeared in the woods. He teams up with a local hunter (Todd A. Robinson) and the pair find themselves tracking more than they bargained for.
Along with Makely and Robinson, the movie also stars Amanda Wyss, Adrienne Barbeau and Lance Henriksen.
