Spoilers are ahead for Under the Bridge's second episode.
Hulu's latest true-crime miniseries adapts Rebecca Godfrey's Under the Bridge, a searing book that explores the 1997 murder of Canadian teenager Reena Virk (played in the series by newcomer Vritika Gupta). The true story of Reena Virk's murder endures because of the way it implicates the teen's peers. Something of an outsider in her small town of Victoria, Reena finds herself drawn to the girls of the Seven Oaks foster home. The group, which is helmed by the ever-manipulative Josephine Bell, treats Reena terribly. Still, she can't help but chase the highs that come with being Jo's frenemy.
Just after Reena Virk's tragic death, Rebecca is also drawn into the secret-filled, jealousy-driven world of Victoria's teens.
Although her family warns her about the Seven Oaks teens, Reena is like a moth to a flame. Meanwhile, writer Rebecca Godfrey (Riley Keough) returns to her hometown,...

This article contains spoilers for Get Gotti.
Netflix’s Get Gotti puts the spotlight on a New York gangster icon, whose camera-ready presence signaled his downfall. The prosecutorial team sees John Gotti as an affront to decency. The capos, soldiers, and neighborhood acquaintances see only a larger-than-life street savior, with the balls and brains to make something of the communities he oversees.
The FBI and New York’s Organized Crime Task Force (Octf) couldn’t get their heads around it. Everyone on Carmine Street had no doubt the feds were itching to nail John Gott to a high-voltage crucifix so they could display him like a Christmas tree ornament. But the real sins committed are those against the organization Gotti headed. The Teflon Don broke more mafia edicts than federal crimes. That put him in the spotlight, a place where it’s easy to mistake exposure for protection.

After the exhibition fight between Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III in Florida, Joseline Hernandez started a fight with Big Lex.
Hernandez, a Puerto Rican reality TV personality star, attacked the rapper, Big Lex, backstage at the Fla Arena.
People tried to pull the two women apart, but they kept hitting and kicking each other. Hernandez ended up putting Big Lex in a headlock, which caused Big Lex’s dress to fall down, exposing her breasts. Big Lex tried to fight back but seemed to have some trouble. Security did manage to pull the two women apart. Even though the fight had ended, Hernandez continued to hit other people. It is still unclear why the fight started.

Exclusive: Oscar-winning screenwriters Bobby Moresco (Crash) and Nick Vallelonga (Green Book) have partnered with Midnight Run scribe George Gallo and John Gotti Jr. to develop the series Betrayal examining John Gotti and the Fall of La Cosa Notra.
The New York gangster—otherwise known as the Teflon Don, the Dapper Don—was a Caesar, an Emperor… a King. His flamboyant lifestyle and frequent public trials as the head of the Gambino crime family, which controlled New York’s largest organized-crime syndicates, made him not only a prominent figure in the 1980s and ’90s, but also one of the most well-known organized crime bosses in American history. Gotti’s rise from a loyal soldier to Boss of Bosses, and ultimately to his sentencing to life imprisonment after being betrayed by his underboss, Sammy Gravano, is legendary.

Three new movies arrive in wide release this weekend, lead by Disney Pixar's The Incredibles 2, Warner Bros.' R-rated comedy Tag and Sony's drama remake Superfly hitting theaters, but another film debuting in limited release, Gotti, is making headlines for another reason. Gotti, which stars John Travolta as infamous crime boss John Gotti, debuted with a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with no positive reviews out of 14, as of today. While this is certainly a rare distinction, it was the third Travolta movie to get 0%, following 1983's Staying Alive and 1993's Look Who's Talking Now.
Gotti earned a slightly better distinction on the Rotten Tomatoes competitor MetaCritic, where it earned a 27 rating out of 100, based on five reviews. The movie was trashed by New York Times critic Glenn Kenny, who called the movie a "dismal mess," adding he was shocked at how "multifaceted a dismal mess. John Gotti Jr. thinks the story of his father’s life should at least be playing on a few more screens on the Gambino family’s home turf. The son of the notorious mobster is distressed that “Gotti” is only playing a few theaters in Brooklyn.
“It’s not being shown in areas where the story happened and that’s a shame,” he said. “I don’t get it.”
Gotti Jr. has been working on getting the film off the ground for nearly a decade, and the biopic starring John Travolta finally arrives at 503 theaters this weekend. But the low-budget drama could get whacked at the box office.
The long-gestating project, which was directed by “Entourage” star Kevin Connolly, is now saddled with a 0% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on six reviews from the Cannes Film Festival, where it premiered on May 15 and Travolta made headlines boogieing onstage with 50 Cent at the after-party.

“Grease” is the word once again, as Wednesday was the 40th anniversary of the hit movie’s New York City premiere. To mark the milestone, star John Travolta taught Radio City Music Hall tenant Jimmy Fallon that iconic “You’re the One That I Want” dance from the movie’s grand finale scene.
It was actually Travolta who first introduced the steps to the 1978 film’s choreographer.
“Like in ‘Pulp Fiction,’ I grew up with all these kind of novelty dances,” Travolta said to Fallon. “In ‘Grease,’ they needed a step for that ‘You’re the One That I Want’ at the end. So I said, ‘Well, we used to do the Four Corners — why don’t we do that?'”

Chicago – John Travolta has fulfilled his career legacy of icon status, and he continues to work on projects that highlight his performance abilities. Fresh off his role as real-life Robert Shapiro in “The People Vs. O.J. Simpson,” Travolta takes on another historical figure in his portrayal of mobster John Gotti in the new film “Gotti.”
The film, directed by Kevin Connally (“Entourage”), is a multi-era biography film, based on a memoir by Gotti’s son John Jr. The main story reveals the relationship of a father who lived and died by the mob code, and a son who chose to leave that world behind, in hopes of redeeming himself and the family name.

Shame on Cannes. In what appears to be a deal with the devil, or one made with a gun to the back of his head, Cannes director Thierry Frémaux inexplicably agreed to give “Gotti” — the myth-building, record-cleansing inside story of notorious Gotham mob boss John Gotti, as seen by his oldest son — a spot at the prestigious film festival … if you can call a single screening in the festival’s smallest official venue, the Salle Buñuel, which seats fewer than 300, a proper world premiere.
It’s certainly a far cry from the treatment John Travolta received 24 years earlier, when “Pulp Fiction” bowed in competition in the massive Lumière theater downstairs, but no doubt the price of convincing the actor to participate in the following day’s events, which included a master class and beachside screening of “Grease.” Though it was projected without the festival’s red-carpet trailer beforehand, Frémaux introduced the film personally,...

There are exactly three interesting choices in “Gotti,” Kevin Connolly’s amateurish biopic about the late and legendary New York mobster, John Gotti..
The first comes at you right off the top: Inverting an exhausted trend, Connolly opens the movie with footage of the actual people in the story, rather than saving it for the closing credits as per usual. It’s a smart move, if only because John Travolta’s performance is hammy enough that we need hard evidence he’s playing a real person (he plays the Teflon Don like a cross between Ray Liotta and Alec Baldwin’s impression of Donald Trump).
The second interesting choice is that some of the music was written by global superstar Pitbull. That’s right, the one and only Mr. Worldwide lends his talents to the film, which helps to explain why his hit 2012 song “Don’t Stop the Party” plays...

When John Travolta strutted onto the “Gotti” set in costume, John Gotti’s spirit was present. Literally. John Gotti Jr. gave the star his dad’s shirts, cufflinks, watches, pocket squares, the whole wardrobe. Get close to his neckties and you could still smell the notorious mobster’s cologne. “His coat fit me,” says Travolta. “His jewelry fit my hands.”
So did the role. The two Johns rose to prominence at the same time. “We were kind of paralleling in our fame. But by the time he rose to his peak, I was already on my third comeback in movies.”
The opening credits sequence of “Gotti” is a documentary montage spliced from paparazzi footage of the mafia boss – the actual one – grinning through herds of photographers as he steps out of fancy cars and strolls down Manhattan sidewalks. It’s a chronicle of celebrity that Travolta himself has lived plenty.

"You'll need the support of all five boroughs." Vertical Ent. has debuted a second official trailer for crime thriller Gotti, spanning three decades telling the story of legendary crime boss John Gotti Sr., as played by John Travolta. The story focuses on Gotti's rise to power in New York, as well as his wife Victoria Gotti, played by Kelly Preston, along with his son John Gotti Jr., played by Spencer Lofranco. This film was slated as a last minute premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which seems like an odd pick. It was originally set to open last December, but has been held until this June. After being dropped by distributor Lionsgate just ten days before its set release, the seemingly ill-fated John Travolta-starring John Gotti biopic might get a new lease on life, at least if its producers’ big gamble pays off. A new report from Deadline holds that the film left Lionsgate because of release plan squabbles — it was set to be released by Lionsgate Premiere (which specializes in specialty and limited releases), and its producers were eager to take it to a wide release. The outlet reports that “there was a buy-back clause in the distribution agreement, so the producers exercised it. It was never a matter of Lionsgate dumping the film.”
Still, that’s a hell of a last minute change to make, especially when the film’s release date and plan have been locked for months now. Deadline adds that an outside investor has back the film “so that it...

Looks like this month is about to get a whole lot less merry for one jettisoned project, as the Tracking Board reports that Lionsgate has dropped its John Travolta-starring mob drama “Gotti” just ten days before its scheduled release. A source revealed to the outlet that the film has also been sold back to its producers, Emmett/Furla/Oasis, which produced the film alongside Highland Film Group and Fiore Films.
The film was slated to debut under the Lionsgate Premiere banner next week, but has now been pulled from the release schedule until a new distributor can be found. The outlet adds that the producers will soon start that process, and the film will likely be moved to a 2018 date.

Six years and two title changes after the project was announced, John Travolta will finally star as the titular Gambino family Mafioso in “Gotti.” Good Morning America debuted the film’s first trailer on Sept. 26, depicting the allegedly Gotti-ordered hit on his predecessor, Paul Castellano (Donald John Volpenhein), followed by his own demise from “The Teflon Don”—gleaming pompadour, designer suits—to a bald, craggy-faced inmate. Gotti died serving a murder sentence in 2002 at age 61; the cause was throat cancer. One of his sons, John Gotti Jr., helped advise director Kevin Connolly, and even provided Travolta with his father’s jewelry and ties to get into character.

"Entourage" actor Kevin Connolly has been set to direct the biopic about infamous New York City mobster John Gotti at Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films, Fiore Films and Herrick Entertainment.
The story focuses on the relationship between John Gotti Sr., the head of the Gambino crime family who died in prison in 2002, and his son John Gotti Jr. who took over the family business. The younger Gotti served time in prison, but then successfully escaped conviction in four subsequent racketeering trials.
John Travolta is still aboard to play Gotti Sr. in the project which aims to begin production in January. Lionsgate Premiere will release the film domestically.
Numerous high profile names have been linked to the film over the years including Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Lindsay Lohan, Kelly Preston and Anthony Hopkins along with filmmakers like Nick Cassavetes, Joe Johnston and Barry Levinson. Each previous version collapsed due to funding issues.
