- Actor
Scotty Mullen is an award-winning writer known for his work with Syfy, Lionsgate, Lifetime, and Tubi. He is also an accomplished casting director and writing mentor.
After getting his feet wet writing on the pop-culture juggernaut "Sharknado" franchise, Scotty's storytelling skills have evolved into writing everything from prestige horror scripts to true-life dramas. He believes in living life by following "The Other F Word" - if it's not fun, don't do it.
As of this date, Scotty has written 30 produced screenplays which have been filmed in 7 different countries.
Scotty is known for being an enthusiastic collaborator with producers; almost all of his scripts have been written on assignment. Scotty is often hired for his script doctor skills and ability to save a production from the proverbial "developmental hell."
Known for his fun humor and engaging spirit, Scotty was recently invited to mentor at the prestigious Rocaberti Writers Retreat - and discovered (much to his surprise) that he was very good at it! With over 15 years of on-the-ground Hollywood experience as a publicist, ad executive, casting director, and screenwriter, Scotty uses his knowledge to help creators navigate smart and achievable ways to pursue their creative goals - both in the scripts they write and the career goals they pursue.
Originally from small-town Kansas, Scotty went to college in Atlanta and now works from his home in Los Angeles.
