Kristen Stewart is likely at the front of the crowded Best Actress Academy Awards race this year for her performance as Princess Diana in Pablo Larraín’s “Spencer.” Despite years of critical acclaim and fan support, this would mark the actress’ first-ever Oscar nomination. But as she recently said on Variety’s Awards Circuit podcast, Stewart is indifferent to all that awards chatter. In short: “I don’t give a shit.”
She added, “The Oscars are such a funny thing. There are so many incredible movies and performances that barely get seen. It definitely says something about where we’re at as a cumulative presence — what we’re looking at, what we care about. I really appreciate that something that I was involved in, has ignited such a large conversation. We don’t make movies to not connect with each other.”

Kristen Stewart has received universal acclaim for her performance as Princess Diana in “Spencer,” with IndieWire’s Oscar expert Anne Thompson calling the actress a near-lock to earn her first Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. But now Stewart is getting an endorsement from someone close to the real Diana: Former royal bodyguard Ken Wharfe, who served as Princess Diana’s personal protection officer from 1989 to 1993. In an interview with People magazine, Wharfe called Stewart the best on-screen Princess Diana in a decade.
“Out of all the people who have played Diana over the past 10 years, she’s the closest to her,” Wharfe said of Stewart. “She managed to perfect her mannerisms.”

Thus far, no members of the royal family have publicly commented on the veracity of the movie, but Princess Diana's bodyguard, Ken Wharfe, spoke to People about what it was really like to spend the holidays with the Windsors, revealing, "It was purgatory for [Diana]." According to Wharfe, who served as Diana's bodyguard from 1988 to 1993, the late royal preferred to spend time with the household staff rather than the family. He shared that she "confined herself to spending time in the kitchen with the chef or with people like me, in the hope that time would while...

As they plan for next year’s wedding, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been making themselves comfortable in the perfect starter home: Nottingham Cottage.
It was at the 1,300-square-foot, two-bedroom home in the compound of Kensington Palace that they were cooking roast chicken when Harry got down on one knee and formally asked Meghan to marry him.
And it was there, this time last year, that they spent the holiday season together, heading out to Battersea, just across the River Thames, to buy their first Christmas tree so they could mark the holidays in style.
By royal standards, it is a relatively humble abode.

Kate and William are so excited for their first baby, and insiders are dishing on how the royal couple will be as parents! Read on for all the details. Kate Middleton and Prince William are finally welcoming their first baby after nearly 10 years together, and sources close to the royal couple agree they will make amazing parents! Even though the Duchess of Cambridge and her prince both had vastly different social circles, their upbringings were very similar -- and will likely be passed down to their future children. Will's mother Princess Diana was 'completely instrumental' in William's childhood, and wanted to be present in her son's life as much as possible, Ken Wharfe, Diana's former bodyguard, told People magazine. The Palace may have reacted with "anger and disbelief" over the publication of topless photos of the Duchess of Cambridge - but it's not directed at Kate. William's father Prince Charles and grandmother Queen Elizabeth II "are most definitely supporting [Will and Kate] in everything that they are doing," a Palace source tells People in its new issue, on newsstands Friday. So far, they have backing of the courts, too. The duo won an injunction in France to stop further publication of the images, which were taken as Kate sunbathed topless at a château in the South of France.Photos: William & Kate's...

Upcoming Princess Diana biopic Caught In Flight has secured it's Princess of Wales with the announcement that J. Edgar star Naomi Watts will take on the lead role. The Help's Jessica Chastain was originally tipped for the role. German director Oliver Hirschbiegel, best know for chronicling Hilter's last days in Downfall, will helm the film. It will chart the last two years of the royal's life as she grows into her role as an international campaigner and humanitarian. Caught In Flight isn't the only Diana biopic in the works. A rival project, based on the controversial book Diana: Closely Guarded Secret, is also in development. This film reportedly sheds light on the princess's more "cunning" and "lethal" side. Naomi Watts has replaced Jessica Chastain as Princess Diana in Caught in Flight, a biopic from Ecosse Films that is seeking distribution at the sales market out in Berlin right now.
The film focuses on the post-Charles divorce years from 1995 and up to Diana’s death in 1997 and her ‘secret affair’ with Dr. Hasnat Khan, regarded by some to be the true ‘love of her life’. The relationship came before she dated Dodi Fayed, and some speculate (as they do about all aspects of her life) that she rebounded with the son of the billionaire as a way to make Hasnat jealous as she was devastated their relationship ended so abruptly.
Written by The Libertine scribe Steven Jeffreys, Caught in Flight would be directed by German filmmaker Oliver Hirschbiegel, no stranger to controversial biopics having made the definitive portrayal of Adolf Hitler on screen with Downfall. Jeffreys’ script portrays...

Charlize Theron and Carey Mulligan are two actresses rumored to be in the lead for a new adaptation of Princess Diana's controversial book, Diana: Closely Guarded Secret — written by her former personal protection officer, Ken Wharfe. Ewan McGregor is apparently being eyed up for the role of Wharfe, who was so close to the troubled princess that he was even trusted to look after her sons as children, Prince William and Harry. Producer Stephen Evans wants to bring the story to the big screen, focusing on the years leading up to Diana's divorce from Prince Charles. He's using the Thatcher-inspired movie The Iron Lady as his inspiration. "The movie itself isn’t great, but you do believe you are watching Margaret Thatcher. It’s a tour de...

Every royal with a story worth telling is getting some big screen time. Queen Elizabeth II has both a biopic (The Queen) and an upcoming fictional film, the rom-com Girls’ Night Out. King George VI stuttered his way into the Oscar panel’s hearts last year in The King’s Speech, and this year King Edward VIII gave up the throne for love in W.E. And yet Princess Diana, whose personal life made her the center of tabloid scrutiny for years, has yet to see her life portrayed on screen.
Update: Carey Mulligan‘s reps are denying her involvement in the film. Check back for updates as the casting for these three biopics gets underway.
Now it seems like the movie industry is overcompensating – the People’s Princess will soon have not one, but possibly three biopics. As reported by British paper the Sunday Mirror, a movie based on...

We’ve heard before about producer Stephen Evans’ attempts to get a $30 million film adaptation of Princess Diana’s lifelong bodyguard Ken Wharfe’s controversial 2007 book ‘Diana: Closely Guarded Secret” into production with Charlize Theron and Ewan McGregor (as Diana & the bodyguard respectively), but now we have some specific plot details.
Evans was speaking to The Sunday Record over the weekend and revealed the story;
We are dealing with about 11 years of her life from after she had Harry, when he’s aged about two, and it’s partly from the point of view of her protection bodyguard.
The emphasis of this really is authenticity and to discover what she went through.
Unless you are a Diana freak, quite a lot of it will be unknown to the audience. The movie’s not saying she is unbelievably wonderful or she’s a pain in the neck, the audience can make their own view.

Breach of security? Blueprints for updated protection measures at The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's new Kensington Palace home, which they plan to occupy next year, have been made available for public viewing on request at the local council - a move that has met with consternation by experts in royal security. According to the Evening Standard, the plans call for an "air lock" double-door system (to especially thwart those with a "dirty bomb") an advanced CCTV system, special pop-up bollards and spiked railings. Jessica Chastain seems to be Hollywood’s new it-girl, starring in “The Tree of Life,” “The Help” and “The Debt” all within a relatively short time. Now, she’ll be playing one of the most beloved princesses in a film. According to IndieWire’s The Playlist, Chastain has been tapped to play Princess Diana in a biopic about the royal called “Caught In Flight.” As you can probably tell from the title, this film might be a lot more controversial than the rival Princess Di biopic that is being based on the book “Diana Closely Guarded Secret” by Diana’s bodyguard, Ken Wharfe. “Caught In Flight” will focus on the affair Diana had with...

Prince William and his new bride are set to leave their two-bedroom "starter home" in Kensington Palace and upgrade to a larger apartment, one last occupied by Queen Elizabeth's late sister Princess Margaret, by summer 2013. Under the plans released by the palace, Prince Harry, 27, is also expected to move. He'll take over...
