Made history in 1997 when he was appointed Parlaimentary Under
Secratery of State at the Depeartment of Health, making him the first
black person to hold ministerial office in the UK government.
The Right Honourable Baron Yaw Boateng was awarded the CVO (Companion of the Royal Victorian Order) in the 2023 King's Birthday Honours List. He was the lately Trustee for The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.
