Johnny Depp's disdain for the White House runs deep ... so deep he was once corralled by Secret Service agents who refused to let him shake the President's hand. Depp, who's taking heat for his Trump assassination crack, was at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. back in January 1988 -- yeah, we know it's the '80s -- where President and Nancy Reagan held a ceremony for the fight against AIDS. Johnny -- who was the star of "21 Jump Street,...

In a few minutes, President Donald Trump will release a new set of tweets, flooding social-media accounts with his unique brand of digital smelling salts—words that will jolt his supporters and provoke his adversaries.
Nearly a dozen senior aides stand in the Oval Office, crowding behind couches or near door-length windows. This is the way he likes to work, more often than not: in a crowd. He sits behind his desk finishing the tasks of the day, which have included watching new Senate testimony about Russian involvement in the 2016 presidential election,...

Michelle Obama forcefully and passionately warned last year of the dangers of electing Donald Trump. And, for eight years in the White House, she was never shy about her dislike of politics or her resolve to never seek political office herself.
But, within hours of sitting witness to Trump taking the oath of office and then making her post-inaugural getaway to Palm Springs, Calif., Mrs. Obama was on Twitter, promising her followers that she’s only taking “a little break.”
“Will be back before you know it to work on the issues we care about.”
After an extraordinary 8 years, I'll be taking a little break.

In a longstanding inaugural tradition, the Obamas welcomed the Trumps to the White House for tea or coffee on Friday morning, just hours before President-elect Donald Trump is due to be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States of America.
President Barack Obama and his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, met the president-elect and his wife, incoming first lady Melania Trump, on the steps leading to the front door of the White House.
The two couples exchanged pleasantries and the president greeted Trump by saying, “How are you? Good to see you. Congratulations.”

"Michelle will never run for office," he said.

"She is as talented a person as I know," he continued. "You can see the incredible resonance she has with the American people. But I joke that she's too sensible to want to be in politics."

The famous Winchester Mystery House is getting a movie made about it and its eccentric owner. The haunted and eccentric Sarah Winchester will be played by the incomparable Helen Mirren. While the real story of the house and its famous inhabitant would be interesting enough for a film, Deadline is calling this a "supernatural thriller" from "Daybreakers helmers Michael Spierig & Peter Spierig." Here's a brief summary from Deadline of the real story: Based on the world famous Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA. Winchester’s husband and child died suddenly, and she became convinced she had been cursed by the legal legacy of the “gun that won the West.” A medium sent her to San Jose in 1884 to begin a massive 38-year 24/7 construction of a 24,000-square foot, 160-room Gothic mansion. But seriously, the Winchester Mystery House is the coolest place ever. Ok, I may be exaggerating a bit for effect,...

First lady Michelle Obama joined her husband President Barack Obama for the first time in his traditional pre-game interview with Gayle King at the White House before Super Bowl 2016. The live telecast, which took place in the Executive Mansion's Blue Room, was more casual and less politically charged than in the past. During the interview, the Obamas shared their game-day and post-White House plans, while giving viewers a look inside their life as a married couple. When asked about any special Super Bowl plans, the pair said their annual gathering isn't much different than most

The Blue Room
Written for the screen by Mathieu Amalric and Stéphanie Cléau
Directed by Mathieu Amalric
France, 2014
In Mathieu Amalric’s The Blue Room, love is a corrosive agent, an arsenic-like poison that slowly works its way into your heart. Amalric writes, directs and stars in this contorted but calculated little flick with a dark beating heart, adapted from a slim novel by Georges Simenon. It depicts the prelude to and aftermath of a possible murder (eschewing the actual murder itself, leaving things gleefully ambiguous). Amalric plays Julien Gahyde, who’s suspected of killing his wife (Lea Drucker). Amalric’s real-life partner Stéphanie Cléau plays Julien’s mistress, Esther Despierre, whose sickly husband owns a pharmacy with his mother. Amalric displays admirable trust in his viewers; he doesn’t withhold information as much as he carefully feeds us certain contemplated bits that add up to a beautifully hazy whole.

Djinn Carrénard’s Faire L’Amour (Fla)], revolving around the relationship between a musician and woman on parole, will open the 53rd edition of Cannes Critics’ Week, running May 15-23
The respected parallel selection, focusing on first and second works, unveiled its 2014 line-up on Monday (April 20). In total, the selection committee screened 1,200 feature-length films and 1,770 shorts.

Sitting down for their annual interview with People Managing Editor Larry Hackett and Washington, D.C., correspondent Sandra Sobieraj Westfall, President and Mrs. Obama reflect on the year's difficulties, both in the political arena and the smaller challenges he encounters at home. "I've got three opinionated, strong, tall women," says President Barack Obama. "If they get together, they can have fun about my ears or being too loud, or how I dress." If only that genial ribbing was the worst of his year. The President, joined by Michelle Obama in the White House's Blue Room, also answered questions about the glitchy launch of healthcare.

The third album has long been seen as a difficult hurdle for a band/artist to successfully clear. Usually having been together for years before recording a debut and therefore have enough material to fill the first couple with tried and tested, great songs. When it comes to record number three, the well is often dry. The following is ten examples of a big middle finger to the dreaded, “third album curse”.
There already exists a million articles in cyberspace on such wonderful third albums like ‘III’ by Led Zeppelin, ‘Master Of Puppets’ by Metallica, ‘Reign In Blood’ by Slayer, ‘Ok Computer’ by Radiohead etc, so please appreciate my slight deviation from the usual suspects. Maybe you will discover something new with the selections I have made. Also, please feel free to comment and leave suggestions of your own, I welcome your opinions and, I will maybe gain some musical education too.

White, who has embraced vinyl over digital both as an artist and as the head of Third Man Records in Nashville, treated customers to a Voice-o-Graph, a record booth from 1947.
"We'll have the record booth open and available for people to come in, sing a song and get a copy of it on record," Third Man Records executive Ben Blackwell said in an interview on Wednesday.

We're so excited for all pomp, circumstance, and of course, style of Inauguration Day 2013!
Yesterday the President was officially sworn into office for the second time in an intimate ceremony that took place in the White House's Blue Room. It was fitting since Michelle Obama, First Daughter Malia Obama and the President were are all decked out in the hue. Although, Sasha went a bit more bold for the occasion in pink lace.
For Monday's Inauguration Day festivities the Flotus kept with the color theme by wearing an indigo checked Thom Browne coat. We can't quite see what's underneath the fit-and-flare coat as of yet, however she did accessorize with J.Crew kitten heels and a multi-strand pearl necklace.
As for the First Daughters, they were adorable per usual!
Malia, 14, chose a magenta J.Crew coat (she also wore one on Inauguration Day 2009) and violet tights for the big day.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were sworn in to their second term in office on Sunday, in brief private ceremonies.
Typically, the swearing in takes place in a grand televised event, but that is not the case when January 20 falls on a Sunday. The constitution requires that the swearing-in take place before noon on January 20, but because it is a Sunday, the celebrations and reveling will have to wait until Monday.
The New York Times reports that Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. administered the President's oath in the White House Blue Room. Unlike four years ago, when Roberts fumbled the oath and it had to be repeated accurately in private, both Roberts and Obama recited the oath accurately. His wife Michelle and their daughters Sasha and Malia looked on.
