Gilbert Alexander Gabriel is a classically trained pianist, songwriter, and producer who studied at Dartington College of Arts, Goldsmiths University, and Berklee, where he earned a Master's in Film and TV Orchestration. He taught and spent time as the in-house composer at The London Film School. His innovative blend of classical, electronic, and world music has led to international success, including The Dream Academy's "Life in a Northern Town," the Ivor Novello-nominated "Sunchyme," and contributions to films like Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and The Parent Trap. His work also appears in documentaries and Netflix series such as Glow and Derry Girls. He has received Gold records and BMI certificates for radio play and sales globally.
In 2013, he completed a doctorate in sound studies and has lectured at the London Film School, several UK universities, and the Kristiana Film School in Bergen, Norway. Gilbert now runs his own record label, Everdream Records, which specializes in film music and song sync, and is published by Warner Chappell Music.
