World-record holder in the 100-meter & 200-meter breaststroke (he set
them both at the 2004 Olympic Trials) and the 4x100 medley
relay.
Won a gold medal in the 4x100 medley relay, a silver in the 100-m
breaststroke and a bronze in the 200-m breaststroke at the Athens
Olympics.
Attended the University of Texas (2000-2004), where he still
trains.
Has a tattoo of the Olympic rings on his left shoulder blade.
Never lost the 100-m and 200-m breaststroke during his NCAA
career.
Enjoys hunting, fishing and camping.
Has a black lab named Jack.
Graduate of Haverford High School, Class of 2000.
Played baseball in his youth.
Part of the "Texas Trio," with fellow UT teammates Ian Crocker and
Aaron Peirsol. Each are world-record holders in their respective
strokes and dominated their events in college. They share the
world-record in the 4x100 medley relay.
