A whole host of talented actresses is joining Cate Blanchett in Mrs. America, the story of the Equal Rights Amendment.
The story of the proposed Equal Rights Amendment (Era) to the United States Constitution is a long, fascinating, and as of right now: still incomplete one.
Now FX is going to be bringing the story of the Era's beginnings in the 1970s to television and they're getting a major assist from a big star. In the show, titled Mrs. America, Cate Blanchett will star as real life figure and conservative Era opponent Phyllis Schlafly. The series will follow the women of the era and how the culture wars of the '70s changed the political landscape forever. This will be Blanchett's first role on American television.
