Kelly Clarkson is a two-time champion coach on “The Voice” (Brynn Cartelli in Season 14 and Chevel Shepherd in Season 15), but that doesn’t make her job of picking battle winners any easier. During Tuesday’s episode of NBC’s reality TV show, Kelly paired up Georgia native Alex Guthrie and Kansas resident Injoy Fountain in a battle to Marc Broussard‘s “Home” and had a tough time choosing which artist to keep and whom to cut. In the end, do you think she made the right decision? Watch “The Voice” battle video above.
SEEBlake Shelton (‘The Voice’) is secretly jealous of Darius Rucker for beating him at the Grammys
The other three coaches — Blake Shelton, John Legend and Gwen Stefani — did their best to help Kelly with her decision by critiquing both of the performances. While Blake said 25-year-old Alex “could have been a little more aggressive,” he told 28-year-old Injoy her personality was “infectious.

On the “American Idol” finale on Sunday, Laine Hardy pulled off an upset over Alejandro Aranda, who had been the frontrunner all season long. In our overnight poll, almost half of viewers (48%) weighing in wanted Alejandro to win and think that he was robbed of the season 17 title. Indeed, he got more votes than Laine, who has 41% of the total tally as of this writing. The third place finisher, Madison VanDenburg, merited 11%.
What do you think? Did Laine deserve to win? Or did you want Alejandro to take the title. Even though he lost on May 19, this singer/songwriter could end up the big winner. His talents were showcased in the finale as he got the chance to sing four of his original songs, including “Out Loud.” He had first performed that tune at his audition in early March, which went viral.

Hey, "American Idol" fans. Happy Sunday! Tonight, May 19, 2019 was indeed the big night! Finale night! That's right, guys. This long season finally came to a freaking end tonight, and a winner was revealed. All Of the final three contestants: Alejandro Aranda, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg performed two, new songs. They also took part in some artist collaborations. Tonight's Live finale lasted a freaking, full three hours. That's the first in its history. I guess ABC is a lot more generous with their airtime than Fox ever wanted to be. To kick off the show, Judge Lionel Richie, mentor Bobby Bones and a whole bunch of other people hit up the stage to sing, “Dancing on the Ceiling.” Eventually, the top ten Idol contestants returned to join Lionel on stage. After all of that, Laine Hardy hit the stage to sing his first song of the night, which was, "Home" by Marc Broussard.

After Seacrest announced that Laine had won this sophomore edition of the ABC version of “American Idol,” he performed his winner’s single, “Flame.” While that country flavored track sounds like a winner, Laine was not expected to take the title.
Alejandro had been the frontrunner all season long, ever since his audition video went viral back in early March. This singer/songwriter performed an original song, “Out Loud,” back then and had all three judges singing his praises. But in the end,...

You know it’s a jam-packed episode of The Voice when there’s not even enough time to remind us yet again of each contestant’s heart-tugging backstory. And such was the rare case with Monday’s first of three consecutive nights of (hurrah, again) Live Playoffs. Not only did all 24 of the remaining contestants perform, but by the tail end of the two hours, our real-time votes had been tabulated, and the most popular singer from each team was given the good news that they’d be advancing to the Top 12. How did my previously-revealed picks fare? So far,...

The Voice is not typically known for tough criticism. As fans of "The Voice" know all too well, we've finally reached the point in the season where things get really wild. That's right: Season 5 has reached the live shows. With Monday's (Nov. 4) live performances, coaches Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green and Blake Shelton give up control over the fate of their artists, as America's vote now comes in to play. Who among their teams will make it to the Top 12? Let's find out!
Team Adam and Team Blake will take the stage tonight, but before that can happen, it's time for a special performance from coach Christina takes the stage with Flo Rida to perform the rapper's new single. Welcome to live show filler!
(Also, can we get an amen for the return of dapper Adam? Gone are the days of that sloppy, bearded mess of the blind auditions, with the clean-shaven, suited Levine back in his rightful place.

At last, after wandering for weeks in the desolate wasteland known as "American Idol's" audition rounds, we have emerged into the deafening, hyperbole-ridden circus known as "Hollywood Week." This is not actually an improvement, because it seems as though we're actually hearing less singing now than we did in previous installments, which makes it somewhat difficult to judge the singers. Since we're lucky to hear 20 seconds of actual vocal demonstration from any of the hopefuls, my previous method of choosing the episode's five most memorable moments has been rendered obsolete. Thus, I'll be doing a straight rundown of the episode's highlights during this section of the competition.
