The trial of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd resumes on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Et, and there are multiple options to watch the proceedings.
The former Minneapolis police officer is facing charges of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter after pinning George Floyd to the ground with his knee for more than nine minutes on May 25, 2020. Floyd’s death sparked nationwide protests, leading to mass demonstrations against police brutality and support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
If convicted of the most serious charge, Chauvin could face up to 15 years in prison, under sentencing guidelines for first-time offenders. He has pleaded not guilty on all counts.
For the most part, those wanting to watch the proceedings as they happen will need to stream them online, as coverage of the trial throughout the day will primarily exist on digital platforms.

TV news is latching on to an old standby to help it gain attention in a new — and often less flashy — news cycle.
Coverage of the court trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged with causing the death of George Floyd, will surface Monday across many mainstream TV outlets. Some of it will be gavel-to-gavel, the sort of thing that echoes the news media’s fascination with the O.J. Simpson murder trial of 1995.
Many TV-news outlets have seen key ratings tumble as the nation emerges from the coronavirus pandemic and in the wake of the end of President Donald Trump’s term in office. The looming trial could serve as new means of winning audiences. “There’s always pressure in television news to find stories that bring in ratings, but especially now because viewer numbers have dropped so much without Trump in the White House,” says Mark Feldstein,...

“I’m looking forward to continue to build the 3Ke brand, give my clients greater opportunities and a better advantage for success in a constantly evolving media environment,” Kingsley told Variety. “This move provides me with a much larger platform in the epicenter of the entertainment industry.”

A mother of one of the 17 students killed in Thursday’s shooting at a South Florida high school has had it with prayers and condolences. In an gut-wrenching interview with Hln’s “Michaela” show, Lori Alhadeff spoke right to the camera, demanding President Donald Trump “do something!” “Yesterday, on Valentine’s Day, I dropped her off at school and I said, ‘I love you,'” Alhadeff told reporter Mike Galanos. “And then few hours later I get a call that there’s a shooter at Stoneman Douglas High School and I ran as fast as I could to get there and I knew at that...

Hln Evp and General Manager Albie Hecht today announced the hiring of Keith Brown, Svp Programming; Kari Kim, VP Program Development; and Adrienne Lopez, Director, Special Projects. The hiring announcement comes a couple weeks after Hln‘s health and wellness weekend programming brand “upwave” achieved a two-decade ratings low for the network — which happened less than a month after Hecht announced the network was dumping Kyra Phillips-anchored Raising America and Ryan Smith-anchored Evening Express, and that a four-hour block called News Now, from 1-5 Pm Et, would be hosted by Mike Galanos, Susan Hendricks, Christi Paul and Lynn Berry, on a rotating basis. Brown, who reports to former Spike TV-founder Hecht, will oversee all current daytime and primetime series, editorial, newsgathering and programming, which encompasses scheduling, media planning, acquisitions and on-air talent at Hln. Previously, Brown worked with Hecht as VP at Spike TV, where he created the news and documentary department,...
