Ever get a feeling of déjà vu while you're watching The X Factor? That's because after 11 series and hundreds of contestants, the live shows have seen a whopping 728 tracks performed so far. But like a wedding DJ reaching for his failsafe party anthems CD, the top five most popular songs have been dusted off and rolled out over 33 times between them.
Our geeky rules state that we're counting all live show performances and group songs, but not repeat performances from the same act in the same series.
=5. 'Feeling Good': 6 performances
Performed by: Beverley Trotman, Rachel Hylton, Stacey Solomon, James Arthur, Rebecca Ferguson, Andrea Faustini
Made famous by Nina Simone, this classic usually pops up in the traditional 'Big Band Week', and is a good excuse for an act to show off their sultry side. Stacey had a go with Michael Bublé in 2009, while Andrea tried out a more powerhouse version last year.

Saturday nights are no longer for going out - The X Factor is finally returning to our small screens this weekend with new hosts, a fresh judging panel and a fair few format shake-ups.
But whatever happened to the finalists of the first ever series - "barking bloody mad" Rowetta Satchell, red-haired wannabe rocker Tabby Callaghan, cheesy best friend duo 2 to Go and eventual winner Steve Brookstein?
Roberta Howett
Roberta Howett went from unhappy telecommunications worker to Louis Walsh's Dublin darling after her successful X Factor audition. But perhaps it was the curse of the Walsh that resulted in her early exit from the series when she became the first act to be eliminated.
Now 33, Roberta appeared on the debut album of Spanish composer Toni Castells in 2007. She finally released her debut album in 2010, its lead single 'Beautiful Lies' became her first Top 40 single in the Irish Singles Chart,...

Once upon a time, just ten nine years ago, The X Factor was something that you had to account for when hoping not to run into a former flame in a smoky club, One Direction was a mere geographical command and Wagner was still the guy who wrote this.
Since then, we've gone from Eton Road to Kingsland Road, Tabby Callaghan to Sam Callahan and G4 to 4G (okay, maybe not the last one). But while some things change, others stay the same, and one more act will be leaving the competition before the night is out. But who will it be?
Join Digital Spy from 8pm for updates and commentary on tonight's results show.

We all know the X Factor is a well-oiled money machine, so it comes as no surprise that the show will release a celebratory Greatest Hits collection to get us buying all of those songs we probably already own.
And it got us thinking: wouldn't it be better value for money to have some songs on the collection that we probably don't already own?
The X Factor has produced some forgotten gems and stellar novelty tracks over the years, so we've listed 10 of the best that didn't make the final tracklist below.
Chico: 'It's Chico Time'
Long before Lucy Spraggan and Ella Henderson wowed audiences with their songwriting efforts, we had Chico and his wristwatch. The track shot straight to number one to become one of the UK's finest novelty blow-outs, so we're a bit miffed it didn't make the compilation. Bonus track, maybe?

Former G4 star Jonathan Ansell could be dropped from 'Superstar' because he has another job. The 30-year-old singer - whose pop-opera group came second on 'The X Factor' in 2004 - was seen impressing judges Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, Melanie C, Jason Donovan and David Grindrod with his rendition of Queen's 'Somebody To Love' on last night's (07.07.12) show but his future in the contest hangs in the balance after it emerged he is booked for a production of 'A Tale of Two Cities' which would clash with the later stages of the programme. Jason asked him: ''We've heard you have a...

Steve Brookstein has responded to accusations from Simon Cowell that he is "ungrateful" and "selfish". Cowell reportedly blasted the first ever UK X Factor winner during a recent charity event, claiming that he was the worst person he'd ever had to deal with on the talent show. The Syco boss allegedly branded Brookstein "horrible, ungrateful and totally selfish". Brookstein was famously dropped by Simon Cowell just eight months after winning The X Factor. His debut single 'Against All Odds' and first album Heart and Soul both went to number one, but the two fell out over the direction of his second record. The singer has always claimed that Cowell would only release a second album of covers with him and that he was more interested in X Factor runners-up G4. He has also accused the tabloid (more)...

The X Factor has dismissed claims that auditionee Roxy Yarnold has an unfair advantage thanks to former links to Simon Cowell's Syco record label. The 19-year-old appeared in Saturday night's show, as she secured four 'yes' votes from the judging panel following a performance of 'Georgia on my Mind'. However, The Mirror reports that Yarnold has previously toured with Shayne Ward, Westlife and G4, who have all been signed to the label. Louis Walsh also spoke highly of her during a 2007 interview, saying: "She's young, she's pretty, she's talented and I just think she's got a great future." The paper also quotes Yarnold as claiming that it "really helps" knowing the Irish music manager. She is quoted as saying: "He is so good at setting things up, tours and so on." ITV are said to be frantically trying to find a show that can replace The X Factor or Britain’s Got Talent, if Simon Cowell pulls them next year.
Simon has hinted that the shows may not be back and guaranteed that he will not be appearing on at least one of them. Cowell is committed to launching a new series of X Factor In America next autumn and though ITV hopes that they can just push their version back a few months, the fact that no contracts have yet been signed, makes them very nervous about the future.
An ITV source told The Mirror:
“Despite their public assurances that X Factor will be back next year, bosses are increasingly uneasy that they could be mistaken and their most successful and profitable show will vanish until 2012 and may not even come back at all.

Geri Halliwell will make an appearance on Saturday night’s X factor show, as the audition tour hits Glasgow.
The former Spice Girl was drafted in to replace Dannii Minogue, who at the time was enjoying her maternity leave in Melbourne, and with her experience on Pop Stars: The Rivals she seemed like the perfect choice.
However, no one realised just how much Geri likes the sound of her own voice and though she comes across well on the launch show, there is a funny little montage in which the other judges get exasperated as Geri goes on and on and on.
At one point Louis complained to the backstage cameras that “Geri talks and she talks – some of it makes sense but not all of it”.
After watching one of the weird and wonderful contestants perform, Geri said: “I don’t know what to say,” to which Louis retorted: “That’s a first.

Dannii Minogue has reportedly landed a record deal worth £1 million.
The X Factor judge is currently on maternity leave and is expecting her first child in just a few weeks time. She will return to the show in September and reports suggest that as part of her deal with dance label Ministry of Sound, she will also be releasing a single this Christmas.
The fiesty singer certainly isn’t giving herself much time to get over the birth of her first baby, because not only will she be working on The X Factor and her album, but the whole thing will be recorded for her first ITV2 fly on the wall documentary!
She must be some kind of superwoman! We can’t wait to have her back on our screens!

Philip Grimer will make his second appearance on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent tonight.
You may recognise Philip from his first audition three years ago, when he tried out with his unique dance tribute act to Kylie. Philip thought the judges were a little harsh on him back then so he’s returning to show them he’s got what it takes to go all the way.

Tune into ITV1 tonight at 8Pm to find out. At the end of the show, the judges will reveal the final 40 acts who have made it through to next week’s live semi finals.
