Michael Shannon talked about his strange relationship with Bill Murray during his "Late Show" appearance. The two met when Shannon was a teenager on the set of "Groundhog Day." Shannon was the kid eating an omelette in the diner as Murray's character relived the same day over and over.
Understandably, the young Shannon looked up to Murray and wanted to talk to him. One day, Murray was listening to Talking Heads, and Shannon saw an opportunity. So he asked Murray if he liked the band. Murray's response was, "Well, duh."
Shannon thought Murray hated him. Luckily, director Harold Ramis stepped in and changed things.
“Harold holds his hand up, and says, now before we run this, Mike, Bill’s got something to say to you," Shannon recalled. "Bill puts his hand on my shoulder and says, ‘Mike, I like you. I really do. We’re good. Don’t worry about what happened the other day.
